  1. Not really. He hit it hard but probably 10'-15' from the wall. Big ol' park.
  2. Just short of the warning track. When he hit it, it looked like it would be out of the park.
  3. That ball was CRUSHED to deep center for a routine out.
  4. Say what you want about Sveum, but he got that team playing well under extreme pressure. They finished 7-5 and lost the first playoff series, 3-1. The Brewers were 83-67 under Yost that year, so I don't exactly see what Sveum proved in his short stint as manager.
  5. As a group, we can't even decide what the qualities of a good manager is, much less whether or not Macha posesses them. I'm glad that Macha doesn't sacrifice all the time; I've seen evidence that suggests it's a strategy that's used too often. I'm glad he doesn't use the results of a couple of batter's faced to determine if his pitcher is "on" that day. I don't really see the value in showing "fire" and challenging players. I think Hart somtimes misses flyballs because he's not good at judging them, not because he hadn't been proporly motivated to burn some calories. There are a lot of things Macha does that drives me crazy but I have no reason to believe that his successor won't do the same things. It's the reason why I didn't care if Yost was fired. Hired to be fired. And for the record, the Brewers were projected by nearly everyone to finish with something around 81-83 wins. If the Brewers are hovering around .500 at the All Star break, what is that supposed to tell us about Macha's performance anyway?
  6. Once again, I'm really glad that Vargas batted for himself, so he could be pulled the next inning. Because, you know, the Brewers don't have enough mediocre relievers to fill innings.
  7. A 5 run lead in the 7th and people are getting nervous? If it had started 5-0 Nats, and the Brewers scored 10 runs in the 6th, we'd be jumping for joy. The order that the runs are scored tells you next to nothing about who's going to win so just relax.
  8. The little guy goes yard! Why do pitchers like Marquis and Batista always own the Brewers!!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Please remember these games when that claim is made.
  9. That's what drives me crazy about baseball. You suffer through a pretty boring game just to watch your team blow it after 160 minutes.
  10. And of course Schroeder hates the idea of getting the lefty -lefty match up before bringing in their closer. That's not how LaRussa designed it so you can't do that!
  11. And that the fact that our whole bench is lefty batters just pisses me off.
  12. I love that our supposedly best two relievers are an average of 40 years old.
  13. 1 extra inning of Suppan is more valuable than increasing your chance of scoring a run by 15%? Macha must think Suppan is significanly better than the alternatives.
  14. I bet everytime Suppan had a good start last year, fans of the opponent claimed that their team always get owned by scrub pitchers
  15. Soup is no more of a joke than any other 5-5.25 ERA pitcher. Unlike Brewer fans, Cubs hitters don't care how large his contract is.
  16. Maybe after Macha rode Gomez's hot bat after game 1, he figured out that a "hot bat" predicts little.
  17. If you can't harness the power of populist anger, you can't be in the media, I guess. Personally, I'm not interested in hearing another rant.
  18. Now that's the kind of analysis I can embrace after 7 games!
  19. McGehee looks like he's walking. I thought he was slow last year because of injuries?
  20. I don't know why baseball fans act like young, inexperienced pitchers should never have good games. They have good games all the time and sometimes it's against the Brewers. This game blows.
  21. Ha, they are going to walk Weeks and load the bases to get to Gomez?
  22. I haven't seen much of Gomez's career but I can see why he hasn't hit a lick yet in the majors. But yeh, he's fast, so let's bat him right in the middle of our best hitters.
