  1. Right now Rickie Weeks is looking a lot like early-season Geoff Jenkins of last year - just throw him breaking balls until he punches out or grounds out weakly. Rickie Weeks really needs to get going. Sheets with another K. Jim Powell with a pretty funny line at Ueck's expense, there. Hee hee.
  2. WHOO HOO!! Prince Fielder sending another BIG message to the Pirates here!
  3. Sheets with another K - that's 2/3s of his season-high, no?
  4. Jack Wilson with another single... I can't stand this guy. Why can't he do this against the Cubs, instead? Then Rickie pops up 3-1. He does that a lot.
  5. I like Estrada He gets hits to score some runs Gotta beat the Bucs
  6. I hate Jack Wilson He really kills the Brewers Why can't he go home?
  7. This guy has thrown sixty-six pitches through five. We better start doing something before this turns into a CG performance. Also, Rickie Weeks is really scuffling right now. I hope we keep the 'Stros down so we can get a couple of runs and call it a series win.
  8. I was driving over to a friend's house for some (hanging my head in shame here) non-Brewer-tv watching. As I was heading out, after seven, I was expecting to miss a CG shutout by Oswalt and a 1-0 Crew loss. In driving, I was able to hear much of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings on, and it was very satisfying to hear the hitters being patient vs Oswalt, then getting two straight hits, a walk and some CLUTCH hitting by JJ Hardy. This team is really pleasing me right now! They're very much getting it done all over the field, and they're not even hitting on all cylinders yet! It's scary how good this team can be when Sheets gets into his groove, Rickie and Billy find their swings and we get a reliable arm in middle relief. Even worse, imagine that lineup with Braun! I'm totally on the bandwagon here, folks.
  9. Then Elmer Dessens comes in and, of all people, actually retires Ryan Freel. This is fantastic. I'm glad I listened to this game rather than played video games/read/punched holes in my wall with my bare fists. ...I forgot how to do blue text.
  10. Yeah, but Ryan Freel and Josh Hamilton have sure done us enough damage lately...
  11. Of course, just to rub it in, once Lee is likely traded tomorrow night, the Brewers will immediately rattle off a dominating, 8-runs-per-game sweep of the Reds.
  12. BREWERS WIN! BREWERS WIN! also, SCRUBS LOSE! SCRUBS LOSE! D-Bow tried to make it interesting, and I don't appreciate that. This is coming from the guy who hopes for bouncy landings on flights because they're too boring.
  13. Don't then advance that run with a wild pitch. C'mon, Damian, don't moeller this up - you have to block the pitches in the dirt!
  14. I believe that last sequence of events is called getting burned by the hit-and-run. Edit: Howry mows down Weeks and Hall. The more I see it, the less I like Weeks-Hall-Jenkins in order. That's "[opposing pitcher] strikes out the side" just waiting to happen.
  15. WHOOOO-HOOOOO!!! Finally - it's nice to see pitchers go after Lee. He's not unbeatable. He still makes outs 2/3 of the time, and since about June of last year, he's been above-average with great power numbers. I was very disappointed that Gonzalez danced around the strike zone against him earlier.
  16. Way to go, Nedly. I like the move - you need one out to get into the ninth, and it's their toughest hitter. Bring in your top reliever. I don't care if he's the closer. Call up the man most likely to get the job done.
  17. It'd be nice to have a DP here. I just don't know how you walk Blanco and hit Juan Pierre with a pitch.
  18. He just walked Henry Blanco on five pitches. HENRY BLANCO!
  19. Riebes, I'd put $10 on a K and $10 on a weak groundout to the right side for every at-bat, and I'd make so much money that I could quit my job.
  20. Matt Murton does a pretty good Chad Moeller impression. It's nice to see that kind of production come from the other team.
  21. It's nice to see Yost pinch-hit for a moeller hitter when we need runs, but now I'm worried about seeing our bullpen out there. Well, here we go again...
  22. Is this what a consistently productive offense is supposed to look like? I like the steady production, but it'd be nice if we could drop a big inning to chase Prior - I'd love to get the Cubs bullpen tired out, just to be spiteful, so they have more trouble with their next opponents.
  23. That's exactly what a prototypical leadoff man and slugger are supposed to do - get on base, get over and knock 'em in. Good work, boys - but that's just one half-inning's work.
