  1. We leave on Monday. I can't get this image out of my mind: http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/rbrandtjen/Picture1.jpg I hope it stays like that. I'll probably be at the game Thursday if anyone wants to have a beer.
  2. Very nice of you John Brew! That reminds me, I've got to start rummaging the house for Pedro's 3rd Annual Spring Cleaning Giveaway.
  3. We built a bar in our basement. And while I'm not handy enough to do the work myself, we did come up with the design and look/colors, including a homeplate shaped bar, and then had it built. Check it out here. My favorite room in the house.
  4. It's yours if you want it razzzor...
  5. Cleaning out the office and found this...forgot I had it. If you can use, just let me know and it's yours.
  6. I believe the survey was performed last June, before we made the playoffs.
  7. Here's the link to the site, which provides some more info and sample pages. I may order the total results for a client. If so, I'll post more info.
  8. The teams flies out some of their largest sponsors for a weekend. Thursday night reception at the Ritz and a tailgate party before the Saturday game, where sponsors get to mingle with the owner/front office people, coaches and players. BTW, I'll be there March 16-21.
  9. The Milwaukee Brewers faired pretty well in Turnkey's 2008 Team Brand Index. Turnkey survey's about 12,000 general sports fans in the different markets to determine the team's in-market status and popularity; this is performed for the 122 MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA teams. In team popularity, the Brewers ranked 33rd overall, the sixth highest MLB rank (behind Red Sox, Cardinals, Tigers, Indians, Diamondbacks). The Brewers were 23rd overall in fan loyalty (Red Sox, Cardinals, Indians, Tigers). The Green Bay Packers ranked first in both categories.
  10. I've got a 10-year old girl, and we run into the same problem; finding movies we can all watch together. We've gone through many of the movies listed previously. I'm going to add two possibilities that we've added to our family viewing: 1) Classic Hollywood movies from the golden age (30s-40s) and a later. Now, I don't know how some of these titles will translate to a boy, but here is a few titles our daughter has watched an enjoyed: Adventures of Robin Hood, Bringing Up Baby, High Society, Sea Hawk, The Philadelphia Story, Gone With The Wind, Casablanca, His Girl Friday, Hello Dolly, To Catch a Thief, Some Like it Hot, Sabrina and The Great Escape. She's also gotten a kick out of some silent era stuff (Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd). It's not a steady stream of these type of movies, but we sprinkle them in or she decided she wants to watch with us if we happen to be watching an old movie. She's left part way through many of them. 2) While they are not movies, but both our kids (10 and 6) enjoy some of the old shorts (Three Stooges, Little Rascals) and old TV shows (Get Smart, I Love Lucy). Now you may not like old movies, so this may be useless info, but thought I'd throw it out there.
  11. Wow, that hurt.
  12. I'm going to strongly recommend Cirque du Soleil's The Beatles "Love" show at the Mirage. Absolutely stunning...but I assume it helps if you like The Beatles.
  13. 1. 1962 Packers vs Giants Championship Game program 2. Victor Fleming biography 3. Complete Abbott & Costello DVD set 4. Little Rascals DVD set 4. A few CDs 5. Wine The kids got Rockband2, and so far that's the winner gift in the house...all four of us can play at once. And apparently, none of us can carry a tune.
  14. Sold.
  15. I bought one for a Christmas gift last month that I no longer need; before I return it to Best Buy, thought I would see if anyone here needs one for a Christmas gift. I'm not sure if they are still hard to get or not. It looks like they are sold out again at most places. Price I paid plus tax: $260. Box includes console, one controller, Wii sports. Pick-up in Menomonee Falls.
  16. Okay, King Kong/Dirty Dozen to Hammer and The Departed, Trading Places, Robin Hood to Katuluu. PM me your addresses and I'll get them out. That's all.
  17. Six down, five to go.
  18. They're yours Tailgator...PM me your address and I'll get 'em out. I think you will enjoy...Casablanca just looked great in HD.
  19. I hedged my bets in the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD war and bought a few HD-DVDs along with mainly Blu-Ray movies. Now that HD-DVD has lost, I'm purging what I have from my library. Before I put them in the Goodwill donation pile, I thought I'd check to see if anyone here would like them. I have: The Departed Bourne Trilogy World Trade Center King Kong Field of Dreams The Dirty Dozen The Adventures of Robin Hood Casino Casablanca Trading Places Flags of Our Fathers
  20. $4,199?! I didn't look at that. We booked our own air and got some other Brewer sponsor discounts in my years, spent less than a $1,500. The times, they-are-a-changin'.
  21. Hey Razzzor... I was there twice in '96 and '97, shortly after I turned 30. I think me and my buddy were the youngest two, as most guys seemed to be in there 40s-60s, although there was one guy who was 70-something. It was one (actually two) of the best times in my life. Coaches when I was there included Robin Yount, Gorman Thomas, Charlie Moore, Rollie Fingers, Bert Campaneris, Mike Hegan and Danny Walton. My most vivid memories are spending a good 30-45 minutes at lunch one day just talking with Yount over a brat and beer; I'm sure I was a giddy as a school girl as I can't remember what in the hell we talked about. We also spent a few nights at the bars with Thomas. Good times. We even managed to play some baseball along the way. Our routine was: arrive Sunday with a reception that night. Monday was skill stations and evaluations, then the coaches would draft the teams Monday night. Hegan was my coach both years. Tuesday was: Kangaroo Court first thing, stretching, morning game, lunch, afternoon game, hot tub, happy hour, dinner, bar. Repeat Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. The championship game was Friday afternoon. Saturday was the day when the campers played against the pros; I got a hit off Kevin Kobel (anyone remember him?), struck out against Fingers, and robbed Thomas of a hit with an ole snare at first. Saturday night was the awards ceremony. Man, now I can't wait to go back myself. I better do it soon before I get fatter and even more out of shape.
  22. I've dealt with the Brewer organization on a business level for about 15 years. I would definitely agree that the atmosphere of the organization has changed. From my perspective, they are much more hardcore about focusing on large sponsorships, generating dollars and generally running it more like a emotionless, cold business. The people they have brought in and the people they have let go reflect this mentality. I much more enjoyed dealing with the previous regime from that standpoint. I have noticed an air of superiority and fear that was not present previously. Without getting into details, I will say I don't particularly care to work with them from a business standpoint any longer. However, from just a fan's perspective, this new "all business" attitude doesn't bother me, as they are generating more revenue which they are then reinvesting in player salaries. Yes, they have a close eye on the bottom line, but they also realize that nothing contributes to that bottom line more than winning. These large sponsorship deals and other marketing initiatives only have legs as long as the the team is winning and drawing fans. As far as resigning CC is concerned, I think it's unlikely, but I don't think Attanasio is blowing smoke either. I don't have any great insight into the situation, but I would guess the confluence of current finances, future revenue and professional ego make it at least possible.
  23. I've got a pair of Definitive Technology BP-2600 Bipolar Supertower speakers with powered subwoofers. Slight scratching on the finish of the top of one speaker. Otherwise, excellent condition. Includes a Definitive Technology CLR 2002 center channel. These have been part of my living room home theatre, but we are adding a fireplace and going to a different set-up. I was going to put them on eBay, but wanted to offer them here first if anyone is interested. $500. Any questions, just let me know.
  24. I have to go to the Packer game; it's client-related. I'm sick-to-my-stomach over the fact that I can't be at the Brewer game tomorrow. I was all prepared to leave the Packers game early and drive to Miller Park when I thought the game was at 5 ot 6 p.m.. This noon start is horrible.
