  1. Per facebook... Prince Fielder "when should I be expecting you?" Rickie Weeks "soon baby it should be against the law to let me play here" Take it for what it is worth.
  2. I by no means am a large number poster, but I'd like to share my thoughts. I don't think your comments were ill-willed in your first two posts or anything. I enjoy seeing and responding to opinions and I would not let that take you down. I share mine and most times I repeat myself or see a higher "poster" saying the same thing and then it is a great idea, but that's how it works sometimes at a job or at enything else. I think you have to earn your stripes to earn respect (I have sat by scouts at Sounds games and repeated what they have told me and have been told otherwise here or waited until a "bigger" poster said the same thing), but I think that's part of it. I enjoy the different ideas and different responses. I think the bottom line for most here is that we are Brewers fans and we want to keep it clean and respectful and not silly posts or I guess ESPN posts. Don't get discouraged.
  3. I just think the burgers are smaller in the dollar menu double cheeseburger now...but i love the slide on the triple tonight by fielder...you can't say he doesn't try/care/lack effort
  4. Injuries are a part of the game...it's just somewhat scary the way he got hurt. That could happen to anyone. And it's not like he's out for the season, so we'll just have to wait and see how productive he is when he comes back (assuming he does). It may hamper him and it may not. We'll see.
  5. Down here they're selling Pacman Jones jerseys for $10.
  6. I'd be for getting him, but it wouldn't make or break anything. If we could get him later in August (at that point we can see where Dillon is if still on the team), and he can backup first and play catcher when needed. It wouldn't hurt anything, but I doubt it will happen. I think I heard something on ESPN about the Angels really being interested in him.
  7. Any young pitchers on the horizon? I know most are somewhere on the A level. It'd be nice to be able to see a young starting pitcher in Nashville (I moved here right when Parra got called up so I missed him and Yo). I don't mind Dickey, Pettyjohn, & Co., but it'd be cool to see some young talent.
  8. Any decent prospects in AAA next year?
  9. Balkin, Did Uecker really say that about Estrada? If he did, that's hilarious.
  10. I don't think booing Davis is right or to an extent Clark. Clark did get an extension and didn't pan out, but it at least appeared he was trying. Showing up out of shape and then playing poorly like Helms is a no no. Some may say Sheets shows up out of shape, but he still manages (when healthy) to pitch to his standard. I'd boo Helms, but not Davis or Clark. If booing Helms pumps him up, we should've booed him every at bat when he was on the team.
  11. I don't think Wisconsin will work...the Brewers want their teams more down south so they don't lose games to rain, snow, etc. The Nashville thing is just messy, but they won't be in Wisconsin. Too many potential games lost for guys a step away from the bigs.
  12. I agree and I love his speed. Fastest guy on the team. Just keep playing him everyday and he's fine.
  13. I think it's important to take a step back and look at it from a non-Brewers view. Look at the team and break it down compared to others. I've said before here that our OF is not producing enough to be a 1st place team. Thank goodness for Hart. Braun is the man. Hardy was the man. 2B has given us Graffanino and Fielder is stud, but cooled off. Estrada can't field well. Starting pitching is hurting (eras are high) and the bullpen is worn down. CV who everyone here has loved is now struggling...because he is overworked. He used to be a starter. Maybe he's struggling? Is all of this because of Yost? I honestly think it's talent. We aren't that talented as we sometimes thing and we're still very, very young.
  14. Even if Estrada is a cancer...the Brewers traded for him and part of a manager's job is to get it to work out in the clubhouse. That's something on Ned. He obviously can only help so much with the hitting...but his lineup swapping has made me sick all year. Stick with something for at least a few days. That's what drives me nuts and how he treats the pitchers.
  15. I'm not saying football coaches and baseball managers control the same. I'm saying this.. 1. Both lacked emotion 2. When they showed it people loved it 3. Players quit (at least on Sherman) and now maybe on Yost They were sent out of town in a hurry...that's all I'm saying and I think it makes sense. I understand football and baseball is different. I find it unique though that in one state there pretty much is a strong parallel with these two in their demeanors. Sherman couldn't overcome his and will Yost? I'm not trying to compare football to baseball...sorry if I wasn't clear.
  16. I understand what is football and what is baseball. I'm saying their styles. Both were questioned and were thought of as laid back and the players possibly quit on them. This doesn't always happen in every situation.
  17. Does anyone else think our OFs offensive numbers just don't match that of a playoff team? Imagine if we didn't have Hart...we'd hardly have any power numbers from the OF. I don't really care who is in at this point since it's not going to make a difference except with Hart. I think our only shot to really get this thing going is for Hall to start raking. Jenkins, Mench, Hall, and Hart are not an OF you can win too many games with offensively. Thank goodness for Hart.
  18. I know I might take some heat for this...but give me a chance. Does anyone think this is at all like Mike Sherman with the Packers? He was liked at first. Good coach, plays, and players like him. The winning stopped (granted Yost hasn't always had the talent), but it look like the team quit and Sherman was gone. I see some things that are similar (obviously Sherman drafted and spent stupidly), but just the way we thought of Sherman reminds me of how some think of Yost now. Anytime Sherman would show emotion during a Packers game (instead of eating his pen) it was a good thing. And Sherman was also very quick with his answers regarding losses. I'm ready to take on the heat...just wonder if this makes sense to anyone else.
  19. I respect your opinion JoeHova, but are you basing this off past results correct? I don't think we'd be wasting that much money and I'm just saying that if someone gets hurt or can't get their head straight he has to be on the short list of candidates.
  20. From what I've seen on hand I think McClung should get a shot in September (sooner if there are injuries or a possible meltdown by a Brewer). He really can throw the gas (I'm guessing maybe up to 99) and it'd be interesting to see what Maddux can do with him. As far as Defelice, he has great numbers, but I don't know how well he'd translate into the big league level. He doesn't throw as hard, but he seems very crafty. He doesn't walk a lot of guys and when he's on the mound expect a shorter game than say...Vargas.
  21. Who needs Elmer when we could call up Barnwell! He can play the infield and do his 3/4 arm angle to really keep them off pace. I saw him pitch on Saturday and he wasn't bad for a shortstop. Just a thought.
  22. The Pirates are paying all of Morris' salary. No money was exchanged per the four lettered network.
  23. Nice 24 pic... Edit: 24 the show that is...
  24. I'm referring to what user Bring Back The Stein said on page 3 of this thread. He said that we already knew he didn't want to be here. I didn't hear anything like that, so I'm guessing this is just assuming since he's missing time to have a kid? Which to me, is understandable. I don't like it, but I get it. I'd like to add it would be a lot worse if we were down a roster spot, but Melvin & Co. took care of that so we're not short at all.
