  1. Just a small note...Wise has thrown more than 3 innings in his time with the Crew. It just seems at an odd time since Cappy went a decent length last night. My only guess is that it must be Parra's weekend at the first sign of needing a long night out of the bullpen.
  2. Let's say Wise pitching today for 3 innings has no trade implications. Are there some good reasons for this? I know T Bow and Cordero have pitched quite a bit since the break (and maybe add Shouse in that to a smaller extent). I would imagine Wise is now out until at least Saturday? That's my guess I could see Sunday as more realistic. Was it just a Ned move? Can someone shine some light on this? I really want to see Parra, but it just seems odd that they haven't used him at all yet...thoughts?
  3. Congrats to the guy...that's an amazing thing he's doing. I admit I haven't seen him play lately too much. Is he more of a PH or can he still play 1B alright?
  4. It's a good idea...but there's nothing you can about the past 30 - 50 years ago. There wasn't as much media coverage is the first factor and now looking at other norms you shouldn't shoot up for power when you're over 35. There is more coverage and with the media you can't tell me that Mac and Bonds didn't gain a ton of muscle...if they busted their butts and everything why couldn't everyone do that? Say JJ or Weeks...if they gain 40 pounds of muscle in the next 5 years there will be questions. Maybe it was just hard work, but the facts against them have proved their is at least questions related to how they got so big. Look at any sport with an incrase in late 30's in todays era and that's not normal. There was not the media coverage there is now and anyone could be on something and we won't know about it. Hank's numbers were never all that high at HRs, but he played a long time. The new media pops out a lot of things that awhile ago we wouldn't know, but when a player like Bonds admits to putting on a possible juiced cream and he didn't know what was in it...come on that raises questions. Look at his rookie pictures and Macs. They got huge and why couldn't everyone else do that? I just find if strange that they got huge and this is their full-time job and they also had huge power numbers...
  5. I'd put Graffy in Left against lefties...oh wait Ned is actually doing that tonight!
  6. I'd go with Miller, but I'm not sure if it makes that much of a difference. The Brewers all played with DD for a few years, so there should be enough insight going around to the guys that need to know what to expect. Estrada has faced DD in the past as well.
  7. I'd send him down and call up Crabbe. He needs to get this figured out sooner rather than later. The main concern though is how Rickie would react to being demoted...
  8. Man that's a lot of money for the Crew...but it will be a test to see exactly how big Mark's pockets will get and at what speed. In baseball can you add years to an existing contract? Or does it have to be a totally new contract? Add '09 right now for say 12 - 15 million would be interesting.
  9. Do they just not allow buckets at all now? Or was it strictly just the AZ game?
  10. Didn't he have a surgery on his shoulder in the 2005 season? I thought he tore something against Atlanta or did he not require surgery? I don't think I'd extend him for 3-5. If anything I'd try to add a year this year and by the time he's up we can pay some younger everyday guys or see where or young pitchers are at.
  11. Started @ $175? Wow...How often do they do a promotion like this? I just moved here and thought the jerseys were pretty cheap for game jerseys.
  12. I didn't like the way he came to Miller Park last year...it almost seemed as if it was a WWE scene (maybe that's the Brewers fault) and I didn't like the comments he made about starting every day. He didn't earn anything last year and he's lucky he even had a roster spot. His play has come around though and I haven't heard too much from him.
  13. Ahhh I just bought his game worn jersey in Nashville Saturday night (1982 retro Brewers jersey w/ Sounds logo on left sleeve). I was worried I wouldn't get it signed because he'd get called up to Milwaukee or traded.
  14. Also, it was $155 total for the two I was able to get.
  15. Ahhh my fault Barnwell fan. I didn't see how much that one went for. Were there a lot of bids on it? I recently moved from WI and is Barnwell a fan favorite in Nashville?
  16. Another report from Nashville... I went to the game last night and both teams wore the jerseys from 1982. I was walking through park and noticed it was a silent auction for the jerseys from both teams for the game worn jerseys. Minimum bids started at $75 and to make a long story short I got Parra and Sarfate for $155...is it just me or is this a steal? I talked to Sarfate after I won them and he said that he would sign at a future game and get Parra to sign if he's still there... Rottino, Nelson, and Dillon all went for over $100 top one I think was $155 or so for Dillon. There was one female fan wearing an authentic Barnwell jersey that was blocking her area to get Barnwell and I squeezed in and got Sarfate a few minutes before it ended. Any thoughts? The jerseys also have a sounds logo on the left sleeve. Ankiel's went over $130 and I was eyeing that one up to frame with a Brewers one...
  17. Talking to my friend who works for the Brewers I guess things have heated up in the trade rumors involving Parra...maybe this is a reason?
  18. Well the game was fun. Free seat cushions, Thirsty Thursday, and a free loaf of bread after the game. One hr by the Sounds, but they seemed real patient scoring 7 runs on 4 hits. I'm going to the game Saturday night also. Vinny looked a little shaky in the field last night and appeared to give up on a couple of balls or thought they were going out of the park. Sarfate was hilarious in the bullpen...those guys have a good time.
  19. I just moved 30 minutes south of Nashvile (from the Milwaukee area) with my fiance (she just graduated so we decided to see the country a bit). I'm going to the Sounds game tonight for the first time and I was wondering if there's any tips anyone has for the stadium (seats, food, etc), but more importantly are there any prized prospects on the Redbirds?
  20. Wow...those are some scary numbers.
  21. If not called up, they're at least trade bait. I wonder if Parra could get us a spark for the stretch run...
  22. I've never been sold on Cappy. I think he can be a good pitcher, but if he was a free agent after this year I'd be scared to sign him to a lucrative long term deal (which I'm guessing he would get given the fact he's a lefty).
  23. I still just like homefield advantages. If the MIller Park All-Star game didn't end in a tie, would we have the rule? If you have the best record in baseball, you should get homefield and the other team has to deal w/ the fact they didn't. The Super Bowl I wish would be the same, but the tons of people that go and all that would never let that happen. It's a one game deal...baseball is up to 7 and that's the difference in sites.
  24. Have they ever had a non-all star in HR derby?
  25. I don't know if I'm in minority, but I really like A-Rod (I grew up in ******on and saw him on the Foxes). I know his post season numbers haven't been great, but he will end up being at least a top 50 player of all-time (if he's healthy) and will possibly have the HR record. I don't get why he puts up w/ New York - I know he gets paid a ton, but there are other teams that would pay him that and get him out of that media. He just doesn't seem like a NY guy.
