  1. I wonder if Prince will be booed in 2011 when he returns to Milwaukee wearing pinstripes.
  2. The big differences I see are: - Gabbard is left-handed and has already made several nice starts at the major-league level - Linebrink will bring the Brewers two high draft picks next year, while Gagne most likely will not bring the Red Sox any. DM made it clear that getting the draft picks was a key to the Linebrink trade.

  5. Luke Winn recalls the Easter Sunday game as part of the "Best Game I've Ever Seen" series at cnnsi.com: sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/best_game/06/15/winn.best/index.html
  6. Though it should surprise no one, the Cubs are now ahead of the Brewers in ESPN's Power Rankings. sports.espn.go.com/mlb/powerranking
  7. As soon as someone knows which hour DM will be on in, please let us know. I personally would like to flex my lunch hour so I can listen.
  8. I'll admit, it got me pretty fired up last night when I got home and turned on Baseball Tonight and within the first five minutes Karl Raveich made reference to the "fading" Milwaukee Brewers. I think it would be more accurate to talk about the "surging" Chicago Cubs, especially since the Brewers still have the best record in the NL. If the Cubs had played .500 ball over the past month and gained 5 games in the standings it would be one thing. But they have been playing out of their minds, and the Brewers have been able to fend them off. I don't even know why I bother with ESPN programming any more. The only reason I did tonight is because I missed the Squeeze Play and wanted to see some highlights of the game.
  9. http://www.autograph-sports.com/Cards/LargeImages/5010245_A.jpg I'll let someone else do Prince.
  10. If you would have told me before the game that Hart and Hardy would get the day off, Braun and Fielder would go a combined 1 for 9, and the Brewers would score 10 runs, I would have asked for some of whatever you were smoking. Good times!
  11. One that you are missing is Terry Cashman's Brewers version of Talkin' Baseball from about 1993. I also love the 13+ minute mix of highlights/music from the 2005 season that a brewerfan.net poster created and shared a few years ago. I have both on my Brewers' CD, but I will look forward to adding the rap song.
  12. http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nl/milbrewers/BosioMil.JPG I still can't believe he threw a no-hitter in his first month after leaving the Brewers.

  14. I'll give you two hints: 1) He was a replacement player, and therefore not part of the MLBPA 2) He was the first Brewers pitcher to hit a home run after they moved to the NL.
  15. http://www.taipeitimes.com/images/2005/09/30/thumbs/20050929191813.jpeg Let's see how many true Brewers fans recognize this former Brewer.
  16. A co-worker has 2KWIK2C on his Mustang GT.
  17. Here is another paragraph from the story: In 22 relief outings, Balfour, 29, is 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA and five saves, with 15 hits and eight walks allowed in 30 innings and an impressive 46 strikeouts. It looks like he has had pretty good control, with a 8/46 BB/K ratio in 30 IP.
  18. Imagine a bullpen of: Gallardo Villanueva Parra Balfour Wise Turnbow Cordero Wow. I'm getting giddy just thinking about it.
  19. We?ve had the Curse of the Ball and Glove logo, and the Curse of Paul Molitor, but how about the Curse of the Young and the Restless? Our four soap stars haven?t been very fortunate since they taped the episode on the morning of May 22. JJ Hardy Before 5/22: 44 G, 186 AB, 14 HR, 41 RBI, .312/.355/.602, 957 OPS Since 5/22: 35 G, 139 AB, 4 HR, 13 RBI, .237/.316/.352, 669 OPS JJ also missed several games due to a sore hip and a stiff back. Jeff Suppan Before 5/22: 10 G, 67 IP, 6-4, 3.49 ERA Since 5/22: 9 G, 50 IP, 2-4, 7.02 ERA Chris Capuano Before 5/22: 9 G, 48.1 IP, 5-2, 3.72 ERA Since 5/22: 6 G, 30.2 IP, 0-4, 6.46 ERA Capuano also spent 3 weeks on the DL with a strained groin. Bill Hall Before 5/22: 43 G, 157 AB, 6 HR, 19 RBI, .268/.329/.452, 781 OPS Since 5/22: 36 G, 131 AB, 3 HR, 19 RBI, .275/.345/.443, 788 OPS Although Hall?s stats are very similar since the taping, he suffered a high ankle sprain last week and is currently on the DL and could miss up to 6 weeks. To be truthful, I don?t really believe in curses myself. However, I thought that the board could use something fun to talk about since the next real game isn?t until Friday, and it is quite convenient that these four guys have really struggled to stay healthy and productive since the taping.
  20. Playoffs?! Don't talk about playoffs! Are you kidding me? Playoffs?! I'm just hoping we can win a game, another game!
  21. Braun is now hitting .588 against lefties with a 1.849 OPS. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif
  22. Hey #33, who are you, and what have you done with Johnny Estrada?
  23. After looking through the box scores, it does not appear that Darling has umpired in any of the Brewers' games since Braun was called up.
  24. If you're not concerned about spelling, I could see a "Bush" doing it in St. Louis at some point. And if you look at first names, there may be a "Camden" or "Jacob" down the road that could do it. But I agree that it is a very long shot. Here's another question. Say Brent Brewer makes it to the bigs. Has there ever been a player that had the same last name as his team's nickname?
  25. I predict that the Brewers sweep the Cubs at Wrigley this weekend. Following the game, the team will bring the "sweep suits" out of their 6-year hibernation. Corey Hart will wear the bright red, pin-stripe suit, black shirt and rose-colored glasses. Prince Fielder will sport the shiny silver zoot suit right out of the Roaring '20s. Ben Sheets will wear the colorful plaid outfit that could have been made from the curtains of a seedy motel. J.J. Hardy will wear the electric aqua-color outfit that came without batteries included. Rickie Weeks will opt for the canary yellow suit with matching shirt. And, last but not least, Ryan Braun will don the leopard-print model that would have stood out even in the San Diego Zoo. The Brewers will then go on to Pittsburgh and be swept soundly by the lowly Pirates in a four-game series, which will lead to a second-half tailspin. The Brewers go 26-55 in the second half to finish the year to finish 75-87, good for 3rd place behind the Cubs and Cardinals. The "sweep suits" will then hit the moth balls again until June 2013.
