  1. PCL and MCL are pretty similar, PCL is rare is all
  2. PCL.. interesting. Good news at least.
  3. I think you misinterpret the venom... it's because he's a good athlete that his defensive woes are so infuriating.
  4. Well that's a good bit of news in an otherwise dreary pitching day on the farm.
  5. Wow what a bad day on the mound, nothing much else to say.
  6. It seems like every time a pitcher at WI walks a batter they come around to score... every single crooked number the opposing team has posted seems to be walk related. I know it probably won't hold up to scrunity if I go back through the game logs, but that's my gut impression. Walks followed by XBHs... edit. umm Scarpetta... wow... Then Sherrill comes in and hits 3 batters in 1.1 innings.
  7. Previous thread on this topic, should have the information you require. http://forum.brewerfan.net/search.php?keywords=505322/t/Where-to-sit-in-Minnesota.html#reply-505322
  8. Please pitch today Mark Rogers... An interesting pitching day none the less.
  9. I was just giving you a hard time, but I do like more posts per page, as the baseball makes it so easy to jump to the newest post. Less clicking around that way.
  10. Unless he damaged the knee cap it's sounds like what was a hyper extension back in the old days, a low grade MCL these days, and probably a nasty bruise with swelling. edit. I was doing my morning recaps and I totally missed the part where he felt a "pop" coming out of the box in his next AB. That's unusual as we usually have to treat 3-4 MCL injuries per football season and I don't ever recall a post injury "pop", usually the "pop" is when the injury happens. I don't feel as confident about this as I did initially.
  11. mls4... always with the history nuggets.
  12. page 5? am I the only one with 50 posts per page?
  13. Cody may force his way up to AAA at the break the way he's going. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if Braddock comes back in the next 2 weeks either.
  14. Miranda walked 3 times so far today, impressive... I hope I don't offend Farris' relatives, coaches, etc... but other than a nice end to the season last year, he certainly hasn't been all that impressive. Does he at least flash the leather? edit. What's gotten into Mercedes this season? He's been a pleasant surprise. edit2. Lucroy pushes his average up to .300 again today, now if he'll start hitting for some power again... a sub .400 SLG isn't where he should be. Brewer should start flashing some power as well, his SLG is lower than his OBP, hopefully it doesn't stay that way for long.
  15. I've liked him from the start, had he been taller he may have been drafted as a pitcher and he likely would have drafted in the 2nd round. He's shown enough power out there to be at least an average player at the corners and above average in CF. We read positive comments on his defense from people that watch him but I haven't seen anything concrete from the organization or scouts recently.
  16. http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/OBP On Base Percentage (aka OBP, On Base Average, OBA) is a measure of how often a batter reaches base. It is approximately equal to Times on Base/Plate appearances. The full formula is OBP = (Hits + Walks + Hit by Pitch) / (At Bats + Walks + Hit by Pitch + Sacrifice Flies). Batters are not credited with reaching base on an error or fielder's choice, and they are not charged with an opportunity if they make a sacrifice bunt.
  17. Gillespie had arm surgery prior to being drafted, his arm isn't going to get better. He'll have a pigeon arm for his entire MLB career, it is what it is.
  18. Salome can't buy a hit this season, very strange... though Errecart continues to struggle and has had a worse season thus far. Wheeler hasn't had a hit since the 21st and still is batting over .300, Gindl continues to rake. Kemp is quietly having a nice season in limited opportunities. If Bowman quits walking people he'll be alright. Rivas with an excellent effort tonight, but Jeffress' night may have been better.
  19. We've had MCL injuries where the athlete is cleared to play 2 weeks later, usually it's about a month, 9 weeks seems awful long. I just googled it and the longer recovery times are accompanied by an ACL tear, which is what happens when the knee gets completely blown out, like a twisting injury on a tackle in football. I'd be very surprised if he tore his ACL diving for a ball, though crazier things have happened. Here's a quick synopsis of MCL recovery for those interested. This stinks on a variety of different levels as he's one of my favorites, but better a position player than another pitcher.
  20. nashville hitless through 4. Holliman lit up bad for Huntsville but Lucroy is 2 for 2 and pushing .300 again. Cain not in the lineup... boo! Caufield had cooled off lately but has a hit. The Stars are leading in the 5th. Lawrie with a costly error and WI is down 2 to 1 going into the 4th, and he singled again further ruining his stellar XBH percentage.
  21. I wonder why it is acceptable to place crosses on the side of the road? I'm not trying to make a political statement, but I wonder where it stops? If someone is walking down the side of the road and has a heart attack? What if your loved just fell asleep at the wheel? How far back can they go? 5 years? 10? 20? What I originally thought was a nice idea tied to drunken driving is spiraling out of control and has made me reconsider my position. Given enough time you'll probably be able to walk from Green Bay to Milwaukee on these things without ever having to step on the ground, memorials belong in the cemetery, not on the side of the road where it's not even legal to park and muse over them.
  22. who gets to determine what the correct stat is and why?
  23. Not really... we already have those players under contract, so the "CC" money isn't out there and available to spend. Since the team didn't have an extra 20 million just for CC, my comments were right on the mark. The same thing is being said on the various blogs around the net... lets go spend that 20 mil on another player... when it's already been spent on 3 players. For whatever reason people don't equate the money that was spent to the money that was out there for CC. People think that the amount money offered made CC a special case and get hung up on an "extra 20 mil", when I think that Melvin and Mark A were talking about risking such a high percentage of the payroll on 1 player. That 20 mil was always going to be part of a 90ish mil payroll, not on top of the existing payroll.
  24. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if Gulin, Salome, and Cain started to get on track today. Good luck to the T-Rats in their first "must win" game of the season at MP, BEAT THE CUBS!
