  1. Mike Edwards? I wish Spivey could hit because he clearly has more range than Hall. I almost laughed watching Overbay try and go after it. He has no range. Who are these guys?
  2. Dear Lyle, You are doing severe damage to your trade value. Please hit a ball hard so that we can trade you to New York. Thank you.
  3. Other teams do bring up minor league pitchers to actually pitch in games and their arms do not fall off, they do not have to seek therapy if they lose, and they don't always have to be sent back to the minors with a bag of diapers. I mean didn't the Dodgers actually do that to us twice in this series. I am absolutely sick of our coddling of young players. Bring up Dana and see what the kid can do.
  4. Who is the next #5 starter for the Brewers? Does Ben get another chance? Eveland? Parra? Maddux seems to work well with the lefties, maybe we give Dana the call. I just think Obie and Glover are done at #5.
  5. I still believe that Lyle Overbay is a lousy defensive player. Why no discussion about catching the line drive. He is, after all, a major league player Bill.
  6. Well bsglory we disagree. Seems that most don't like managing early in the game. I disagree. I think getting a lead is important and the guy following Kent was, well....no Jeff Kent. If you walk Kent you have a force play at each base and you have the best hitter out of the way. Just a difference in philosophy I guess. If you look at the series almost all of LA's runs are due to Kent and Drew. The rest of their lineup is like Milwaukee West and we shouldn't let those guys beat us time after time.
  7. First base open..we pitch to Kent...and we wonder why we lose close games.
  8. I think we should have Wes Helms step on JDLR's foot and send him to the DL. Bring up Weeks for the interleague road games, we need another hitter for those. He could even DH if he is that much of a club in the field.
  9. Gagne is filthy, but bad approach by Lyle with 2 strikes.
  10. Actually the replay showed he was out..he took too long in his slide...foot was not on the base.. Not sure if this was mentioned...Weeks 3-4 tonight...HR...number 12....now batting...333. How bad can his defense be?
  11. What is wrong with Overbay? He is just not on anything. Even his hits are dribblers. As Brewmann pointed out he looks tired. Bat is slow, body language is not good. We need him.
  12. Turnbow needs to pitch more. This should now be clear to Yost that a guy with control issues can't go that many days without pitching in a game. Good decision by Yost to remove him for a guy that is throwing strikes. I could see us calling up Bennett to give us more depth in pen.
  13. Why is Romero allowed to balk every time in the stretch? He sets twice, which is a balk. I didn't like his video at all. Not as free and easy as I was led to believe. Very poor follow-through....not in good fielding position and looks like high effort guy. I doubt we'd take him so point is prolly moot, but just thought I would put in my 2 cents.
  14. I'm willing to spot Obie a mulligan on this one as he has been pitching very well, but watching he and Glover remind me of something John Madden always says about having two quarterbacks or two tailbacks. Madden says if you have two qb or two tb you really don't have any. I think this applies to our 5th starter situation. BTW, Mike Adams line at AAA tonight, 2 IP and nothing given up, with 3 K. Absolutely a shamockery that he is in the minors and Glover is in the majors. I know, I know, options...but hey there is a reason guys like Glover don't have options...they suck and can't stick in the majors on one team. Glover reminds me of Phelps, you look at his stats in media guide and can find no logical reason why this guy has an mlb job.
  15. Video is up on MLB.com
  16. ouch...Peavy. This doesn't look good at all.
  17. Just a note from the Huntsville game. The starting pitcher from Carolina is a former Boscobel, WI graduate and UW Minn graduate...Craig Molldrem. He was drafted in the 8th round last year and was making his first start in AA. He actually had surgery on his forearm right after being drafted so they are moving him very quickly. Looks like he pitched pretty well for the first 4 innings.
  18. My prediction for Ryan tonight..... 2 1/3 IP 1 H 3 ER 4 BB 5 K
  19. Very disappointed that mlb does not have video for prospects yet. It seems they had already had it active by this time last year.
  20. Makes him sound like a can't miss. If he this good, why is he not considered with Upton as a possible #1?
  21. Boy Krynzel has really hit the skids. I imagine the board will be humming tonight in anticipation of Anderson's start. Can't wait.
  22. It was sarcasm, difficult to read I know.
  23. Good thing winning doesn't matter in the minors, because we suck at it. And just for the record, I have never whined about Prince Fielder.
  24. The more I read about Zimmerman the more I think we can't pass on this guy if he is available. Excellent fielder who led Team USA in hitting last summer...and setting a team USA record by hitting .468. What am I missing? We need a corner and this guy could be in AA by season's end..or not.
  25. I know this has probably been discussed elsewhere so I apologize up front, but I really believe KC might pass on Gordon for the following reasons... 1) Cash...I have read that KC is not interested in paying top dollar 2) Mitch Maier- Didn't they convert him to 3B 3) Billy Butler- Isn't he also a 3B? 4) Teahen- Also, a 3B, and he was a mus in order for a trade to be completed last year, if I am not mistaken. Would they be able to get Maybin cheaper? Seems they need just about everything except a 3B!! EDIT: I now see Maier is playing OF. But, Butler is still at 3B and hitting .353 with 10 HR at.....HIGH DESERT!!
