  1. Well since McClung is only going to be with he club for another week might as well let him go 4 and then Turnbow for 2 but it appears they will let Suppan sacrifice and stay out there. I still think this will be a "McBlow" game in an inning or two.
  2. When the pitcher almost takes you yard maybe it is time for someone else to play.. give Suppan his participation award and let him hit the showers..
  3. Maybe we can walk Schneider here to get to Perez.. I am only half kidding. The way the Mets are hitting him it might be the best move.
  4. This has the makings of a "Seth McClung" game. I was hoping the next time we saw him was in Nashville when he got sent down and Yo was back.
  5. Hey Suppan... maybe it is just me but I heard first pitch strikes are a good thing.. this isn't fishing.. quit nibbling..
  6. Yes.. think of this.. they are 7 - 4 with: - The best defender and #2 hitter unable to play. - Their #2 starter out. - 2 blown saves by their closer - Their #1, 3, 4, 6, and 7 hitters struggling Of course it might be 7-5 if Suppan doesn't start getting some outs.
  7. You would think that with the way Perez nibbles that the Brewers are going to break out a big inning pretty soon. He is like the East Coast Vargas
  8. There was only 1 out.. so you would have guaranteed the top of the order to come up.. but whether you want 2nd and 3rd with 2 out and the leadoff or 3 and 1 out with the 8th and 9th hitters... probably trying to stay out of a big inning.
  9. I hope we get a 4.50 ERA from Suppan this year. the money has been spent not I am just hoping to limit the damage... the nice thing when Yo comes back he will be the number 5 starter.. the most expensive 5 starter in the majors but probably close to the best as well.
  10. Looked smart when there were 2 outs and nobody on before Wright..
  11. As I said during the shutout.. since he won't be pitching for us next year.. burn him up.. plus who knows how many starts we have until he gets an hangnail, stubbed toe, or split end that keeps him out for the year so get him as many wins as possible.
  12. If Johnny Estrada is catching for the Mets, sure run on that. But Schneider, one of the best, is throwing Braun out a majority of the time. Well he didn't throw him out that time... the ump just blew the call.
  13. Well they let Sheets throw 109 for the shutout last time out... With a 3 run lead I would bring in Mota and then Gagne today but if they keep Sheets in for 1 more inning I would be ok with that.
  14. Exactly. The "the same people..." argument is annoying and totally non sequitur. Also, BA made it sound like a double steal, although I don't know for sure. It was dumb whoever's idea it was. All I know is the rule I was always taught is never make the first or third out at 3B. If I remember correctly that was the second out and with the bottom of the order up that was actually a very good idea to attempt at that time... To think otherwise is clearly not thinking. I don't know about that. They might have walked(intentionally or working out of the zone) JJ to get to Sheets who you would just let strike out or walk. That would have gave a bases loaded opportunity to Kendall. That might be a long shot though. Yes.. that is true but then you instead of having Hardy and Sheets hit with 1st and 2nd. You have either Sheets bunting again or Kendall hitting (your hottest hitter) with bases loaded. So to me either way you are in a better position. Or
  15. I agree Hart will end the year hitting at least .290 with 30 HR / 30 SB.
  16. Yes.. lots of people called it a dumb decisions. Personally I thought he was training camp fodder and wouldn't make the roster. Nice to know that Melvin may know more about baseball than us.

  18. Two walks today... what the heck is going on here? Maybe even Braun will get one..
  19. Isn't the definitiion of being smart being right far more often than not so results are the only way to determine if it was smart or not. Now saying you disagree or wouldn't have made the same decision is a valid but the fact is that decision only looks dumb because he was called out and the call was dumb because it was wrong..
  20. I agree.. only reason people are complaining is because he was called out.. if he would have been safe the same people would have been praising the agressive baserunning especially after Hardy hits a Sac Fly and Sheets strikes out..
  21. It always seems he throws harder the hotter it is out... must be the Cajun in him..
  22. Wow..not the series to argue the defense is better... and this with a generous scorekeeper (ex. Fielder's error last night being ruled a hit.)
  23. When are the suspensions for Salome and Jeffress officially over and has it been announced where they will start the year (Salome - Huntsville? Jeffress - Brevard County?) Also any estimated dates for Braddock and Rogers... Sucks when 4 of my favorite 6 prospects to follow are out.
  24. Gagne is probably upset they didn't score in the 9th to get him a win.
