  1. Doug Melvin hasn't traded high on anyone since Scott Podsednik. That's what frustrates me so much about him. I guess you could argue Lyle Overbay. If we are always trading players when they are at their peak value, we are going to have a hard time winning anything in the post season. We would be the Pirates.
  2. Okay I am gonna go with Haren over Jimenez. Ouch.... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif So goes fantasy baseball...
  3. Well, you can't fault Hanson for trying to pitch inside to Braun. You have to use the whole plate to try to get him out. If it got away, it got away. That's going to happen from time to time. As far as throwing over to first 3 times, I would be expecting our pitchers to do the exact same thing if there was an obviously injured player on the bases. Its just like other sports, you go after the CB after getting banged up, in basketball you give it to the guy being defended by the player that is limping around. Its about winning and losing, not making friends.
  4. If he doesn't want to be "the man", then I don't want him on my team. I want all my players to want the ball in tough situations. That's called being a leader.
  5. I guess I'm going to need to see that land, because I really doubt it was intentional. If it was, why not hit him on the first pitch?
  6. It is not a joke. http://blogs.ajc.com/jeff...unfortunate-misspelling/
  7. I have to admit this had me laughing pretty well.It may be funny... but shouldn't we be giving him some credit? We are so quick to bash Macha (and Melvin) when things go bad, but when it turns around, they get ignored. I'm not saying I'm a Macha lover, but we should at least be fair in how we treat him.
  8. My simple answer to this question is... not as high as his value with the Brewers right now.
  9. You cannot give academic scholarships to athletes. Not even if they earn it?
  10. Multiple no hitters has only been done 26 times. Sure its more, but not that many more.
  11. If you were a major league pitcher, would you rather have a single perfect game or multiple no hitters? I think I'd rather have multiple no hitters, it shows ability to dominate on multiple occasions rather than just one day.
  12. I think that's a little unfair to a guy who obviously has some problems. I wish him the best and hope he can get his issues straightened out.
  13. 5/1 @SD - W 5/2 @SD - W 5/4 @LAD - L 5/5 @LAD - L 5/6 @LAD - W 5/7 @ARI - W 5/8 @ARI - L 5/9 @ARI - W 5/10 VS ATL - L 5/11 VS ATL - W 5/12 VS ATL - W 5/14 VS PHI - W 5/15 VS PHI - L 5/16 VS PHI - L 5/17 @ CIN - L 5/18 @ CIN - W 5/19 @ PIT - W 5/20 @ PIT - W 5/21 @ MIN - L 5/22 @ MIN - L 5/23 @ MIN - W 5/25 VS HOU - W 5/26 VS HOU - W 5/27 VS HOU - W 5/28 VS NYM - W 5/29 VS NYM - L 5/30 VS NYM - W 5/31 @ FLA - L 12 home games 16 road games Tie Breaker: Braun HRs + Weeks RBIs + YoGa wins = My prediction: 17-11 Tie breaker: 6 + 14 + 3 = 23
  14. They are this year's ranks. Its not worth it to look at last year's ranks. Teams change so much from year to year, it doesn't make much sense to compare them.
  15. I have a nickname for Hoffman: All time saves leader We had no problem giving Gagne a nickname when he holds the record for most consecutive saves ever.
  16. Hoffman needs a nickname ... we had turnblow and gagme and now ... Tee-off man
  17. Can someone tell me what just happened? Gameday said "On Field Delay" and Automatic Ball.
  18. 2009 0-2 count - 42% FB, 9% SL, 49% CH 2010 0-2 count - 100% FB This stands out the most to me... but I really don't think we've had nearly enough ABs to put together any sort of theories.
  19. That answer makes me feel a bit better. I think Hoffman can turn it around, I just hope he can show it on the field.
  20. Line Drive, Ground Ball, Fly Ball % 2007 - 17.6%, 30.6%, 51.8% 2008 - 13.8%, 39.0%, 47.2% 2009 - 14.3%, 39.3%, 46.4% 2010 - 17.6%, 11.8%, 70.6% Career - 20%, 33.6%, 46.4% Hoffman will get better when his flyball rate lowers, but I still see cause for concern.
  21. We could also throw in the fact that the Brewers have played the worst hitting team in the majors this year 4 times. I am too lazy to look up the numbers right now but our ERA would really be inflated without the Pirate games. NL Runs scored ranks Colorado - 6th Chicago - 7th Washington - 8th St. Louis - 12th Pittsburgh - 15th So we haven't played the worst offenses in the league either. Our schedule has been pretty average at this point.
  22. I think this article sums it up best for what it means for Brewer fans. http://hardballtalk.nbcsp...ners-and-losers.html.php
  23. A) 2010 trade deadline B) in the offseason C)2011 trade deadline Talk to me in a few months when we have a better idea of where this season is going. But I'd say the answer is A or B.
  24. a new local TV deal will be in place at some point here. The TV deal was resigned last year I believe.
  25. This pretty much sets the ceiling for Prince. He should not get as much $ as Howard. More like 5 years, $110M. I disagree with this a lot. I think Prince is a better player than Howard and is younger.
