  1. Joe Torre came out in his defense saying that he did not throw his helmet at the umpire. I'm sure that had a lot to do with the small number of games he received. Also the fact that the umpire called horrible strikes.
  2. Nothing wrong with a little depth in the minors, I just hope we never have to use him in Milwaukee.
  3. MLB has fired Shyam Das. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7929521/report-mlb-fires-shyam-das-arbitrator-milwaukee-brewers-ryan-braun-case
  4. Ramirez will be fine. If he was batting like this for 3 weeks in July, no one would even notice. He will have his numbers by the end of the year, it just looks bad right now.
  5. Wickman, Turnbow, Torres, Axford, Dejean, Dan Kolb, Axford. Yeah, but Axford is so good that we pulled him from no where TWICE!!!
  6. As soon as I saw this thread I thought it was a Cardinals thread as well! haha Awesome story. Way to go Hawk!
  7. My understanding of some of the posters here is that the test that is done on the urine sample does not directly test for synthetic-T, just that they test for signs of synthetic-T. Pebadger and xisxisxis know much more than I do about this.
  8. He makes fair points, he can only go off of the sources he trusts (even though some of those have shown to be slightly untrustworthy). My only point is that it still hasn't been confirmed that it was in fact synthetic testosterone in Braun's urine, only that they tested the sample for signs of synthetic testosterone. It has not been reported (by anyone to my knowledge) of there actually being a test that shows there was Synth-T, just that there were factors in the urine that are common with the presence of Synth-T, and I still doubt this has been confirmed as neither Braun nor MLB has stated this.
  9. considering he will be 30 in July. We assume....
  10. Good for Passan, however no one really knows if it is or is not synthetic testosterone at this point.
  11. This statement makes me believe even more that something else has exonerated Braun, not this "Technicality" as it has been dubbed. I find it extremely hard to believe that an arbitrator that has sided with MLB 12 times out of 12 would have gone against MLB because of something that has been done before on other tests and the "CDT has instructed collectors since I began in 2005 that they should safeguard the samples in their homes until FedEx is able to immediately ship the sample to the laboratory, rather than having the samples sit for one day or more at a local FedEx office."
  12. I still am holding on to hope that Aaron Rodgers knows A LOT about this situation, since he and Braun are close and I'm sure Braun felt confident in confiding in Rodgers as he is also a high profile athlete. Rodgers seems really confident that Braun is completely innocent and I just hope he isn't giving me false hope.
  13. Well my question is how could keeping the sample at room temperature transform the sample into a a monstrously high positive test? I guess that is what Braun's team was able to prove but I am no scientist and can't fathom how that could possibly happen. Not to mention the positive test included synthetic T. Pure guess... Braun took a substance that is allowed by MLB, but the poor handling of the sample caused the levels to go out of whack.
  14. I agree completely. This thread had turned into largely discussions of completely baseless rumors and suddenly everyone in the state seems to know someone who knows. Let's keep this discussion about the actual issue and not a myriad if rumors please. The problem is that no one knows what the actual issue is. I wish that we could just talk about the actual facts, but there are so few facts to work with, rumors are going to form and be spread. Its human nature. I will get in line with most of the people before me, at this point, I don't care what he has done or had done, both on and off the field. I'm not his friend and he doesn't know who I am. I am a fan of the Brewers and as a Brewers fan, it is in my best interest for him to do what he does best, hit a baseball. The only thing that makes me upset is that he may be missing 50 games, which will hurt my team. I will continue to hold out hope that his appeal will be granted and we will have him for a full 162 games. All indications are that he is a great guy and does great things in the city of Milwaukee. I will forever be thankful that he is a Brewer and will continue to support him for many years to come.
  15. Elevated testosterone is not failing a drug test, it is only an indicator. Perhaps this "new drug" hasn't been put on the banned substances list and it had side effects that the doctors were unaware of.
  16. Gamel/Ramirez 2012 will probably outproduce Fielder/McGehee 2011. I'm not sure this is a given, but I see where you are coming from.
  17. He's still one of the top 10 defensive 1B in the game. He's not going to resign himself to DH at this stage of his career. No way, no how. Why does he care at this point? It seems like he is all about the money. Why wouldn't he go to the place that pays him the most money for the rest of his career. This will almost for sure be his last contract. He doesn't lose any value by being a 1B. He could probably play LF at Fenway too.
  18. Its pretty amazing that this team won as many games as they did with this manager. What a joke.
  19. Also, since the Brewers will be denied the Manager Of The Year award (going to Kirk Gibson) If there is anyone who does NOT deserve the MotY Award, its RRR.
  20. I just wish those "hopeful rather than smart" Cardinals would've traded Pujols and Holliday when they lost a Cy Young candidate this spring. The Cardinals plan on keeping those players after this year. We all know that Prince is gone.
  21. I hope you are right, I really do. I just think we got lucky with Braun being out. The downgrade from Weeks to Counsel/Farris is a bigger hit than Braun to Kotsay, in my opinion. If McGehee can turn it up and the pitching stays hot, they can stay in it. I just think its going to be a very frustrating run and we will probably fall short. I want long term success for this team, not hoping for players to finally start performing.
  22. I don't think its Knee-Jerk at all. The Brewers were a fringe candidate for the Playoffs/WS without any major injuries. This is a major hit and if we are being smart rather than hopeful, trading Prince would be the move to make.
