Dang, I would have liked a second FA year bought out with an additional option year, but this is definitely a step in the right direction from my perspective. They did. His first FA year is 2014. Option year will be for his 2nd FA year in 2015. -
This is fantastic news. Not only is it great that we have Gallardo under contract, but it gives the Brewers a better idea on how much they can offer to Fielder. Financial certainty is a good thing to have. Congrats to Yovanni, Doug, Gord, Mark A, and Brewer Fans everywhere.

I saw the first two WPs. They were definitely in the dirt. Could they have been stopped, yes, but there was a reason they were scored wild pitches and not passed balls.

I will argue that a computer could manage teams better than most managers do. -
Rotation Battle 2.0 -- Latest: Suppan Named 5th Starter
zzzmanwitz replied to Jim Goulart's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
In regards to their job descriptions, Melvin decides who is on the roster and Macha decides how the players should be used. I'm sure there is some input from both on both decisions, but I bet Macha has more say on the rotation. -
100 point difference is also roughly the delta between Joe Mauer and Fernando Tatis. Also, if Gregg Zaun had 100 more points of OPS, he'd have an equal OPS to Yogi Berra.

Stetter should be the closer too... he has a 0.00 ERA. Hoffman is at 4.50... what a bum.

PLAYOFFS BABY!!! How do I get tickets!?!?! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Should we start calling Corey Hart.... Fransisco????

Solid first series of the year for the crew. Its great winning a game when Braun and Fielder have rough games.

DONG!!! DONG!!! DONG!!! DONG!!!

I don't feel as dirty typing Diego as I do when I type Edmo.... no, I can't do it anymore.
-
I have no problem with Diego starting... I have a problem with him batting 5th behind Prince.

Lineup according to TH. 2B Rickie Weeks CF Carlos Gomez LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Jim Edmonds 3B Case McGehee C George Kottaras SS Alcides Escobar LHP Doug Davis I just don't understand batting Edmonds (Diego) 5th, especially with the two games McGehee has put up.

Cardinals TV announcer calls Brewers disrespectful

I miss Untuckem already. I'm still going to untuck after every win. I hope a few of you do as well. -
Untuckem?

I thought we didn't resign Kendall... ugh
-
Oh Rickie... how we missed you last year!

Tapped out to third, but got a reasonable cheer from the home crowd when he was introduced. I'm not convinced he would've gotten that cheer if he started yesterday, but it's a much smaller (and kinder less drunk) crowd tonight. Fixed

I was talking about Gomez's first AB when Weeks was at 2B.I don't think Russ was.
-
I hope Kotteras gets a start tomorrow...
-
I agree, but was that not a productive out? There was no one on base when Gomez Bunted.

For anyone not able to listen to the Play by Play on TV, Rock just said he was looking at the game notes for the first time, and quite possibly the last. Why am I not surprised...?

Its weird seeing Geoff Jenkins pitching for the Brewers.
