  1. Thanks for the read. I've found other sites that show $310 million of $400 Million was from tax dollars or roughly 77%. I'm not sure what that has to do with respecting a building wether it be public or private or who built it? Our tax dollars pay for lots of buildings and community ammentities, but I'm not going to go around spitting on the ground or urinating on the walls. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Completely? I had already moved to Florida when they started building Miller Park. I thought the taxpaying percentage was well less than half let alone all taxpayer dollars. Shows what I know I guess.
  3. Congratulations on your promotion. I couldn't be happier for you. As I move up within MLB, perhaps we'll work together somewhere. I hope I can call on you if I'm ever in Houston. It's been a pleasure and we look forward to seeing you at the park when you have the time! I have a sneaking suspicion you will pull a Favre on us somewhere in TX. We won't hold your rights!
  4. I'm taking a wait and see approach.
  5. I'll bring a friend, but he doesnt post on here. That's 9
  6. I don't understand the original poster's question. I've had BTN since it's inception as a DISH network subscriber. All of the football games have always been regionalized for me. So since moving back to Wisconsin, I've always gotten the Wisconsin games as long as BTN was covering them and not ABC, ESPN2, or another network. I don't get Iowa vs Michigan for example if Penn State vs Wisconsin is at the same time, that would be kind of goofy. Was that the question?
  7. Good Luck. I stopped listening to Ben Maller after one of his many Favre bashing sessions. I do like to listen to the guy that preceeds him however, JT The Brick.
  8. I disagree with it completely. However, this is a "membership club" that can selectively choose who they want to be playing baseball, coaching, etc. Again, it's not right, but unfortunately the family doesn't have much of a leg to stand on in fighting them.
  9. Only if the two teams are vieing for 1 spot. This wont be the case for the Cubs and Brewers, as they will be filling two spots. This tiebreaker can be found in the MLB official rule book, rule #33. It explains what to do if two teams from the same division are tied with the best record in the league and how to determine Wild Card or Division winner.
  10. Wouldn't that be a Packers loss? I dont have a Packers schedule in front of me, but I don't think they play prior to Sept. 28th.
  11. Thank you, I've been looking around for the new Weeks song.
  12. I started a thread a few days ago with no interest. I am interested in doing a pay league, perhaps a keeper league with a live draft. As far as the pickems go, I have a yahoo account with a family group. If you are operating on yahoo, send me your group information and I'd love to join. Is the pick em's for pay as well with prizes each week or end of season?
  13. If the Brewers and Cubs both finished at 96-66, or any tied record for that matter, the following tiebreakers would apply. (Assuming they are the top 2 teams in the National League) A) The Club with the higher winning percentage in head-to-head competition between the two tied Clubs during the championship season; or Currently the Cubs hold the edge at .600 to .400. Brewers going 4-2 makes them even, advancing to the next tiebreaker.... B) The Club with the higher winning percentage in intradivision games during the championship season; or Currently the Cubs hold the edge at .603 to .593. The Brewers are 35-24 against the central, the Cubs a mere half game better at 35-23. C) The Club with the higher winning percentage in the last half of intraleague games during the championship season; or This is where it gets dicey. The Cubs & Brewers played 15 interleague games, meaning pending no rainouts, they'll play 147 intraleague games. Whether the last half of those is 73 or 74, is up for debate I guess. I'll take 74. All of the last 74 for both squads are intraleague games, so the percentage would start from Game #89 through Game #162 (again pending no rainouts). The Cubs are currently 28-14 (.666) over the Brewers 27-16 (.627). However, it should be noted that should we reach this tiebreaker, The Brewers would WIN this tiebreaker as they'd have a better winning percentage over the Cubs during those final 74 games regardless of the tied final record. D) If the Clubs remain tied, then to the tied Club with the higher winning percentage in the last half plus one of intraleague games during the championship season, provided that such additional game was not a game between the two tied Clubs. This process will be followed game-by-game until the tie is broken.
  14. I think the argument is exactly the same for movie theatres as discussed by berniebrewer. They do have replay for movies, it's called DVD, or in fact, you can purchase another ticket for an additional showing. You only get one chance to watch it live from your seat. Very seldom do you see replays of plays shown on the Miller Park video board that you can see from your seat. I have to agree that the Brewers will likely make no effort. And to be quite honest, it isn't their business to tell people how to be considerate of others. If people's parents or parental figures couldn't the message of respect for other people's property or somebody else's home (Miller Park, neighbor, whatever) or just general respect for others, than I don't think a few signs are going to get it across either. This goes back to the post that started the whole thread. Whether it was disrespectful of authority and somebody else's home to spit sunflower seeds on the the floor. There are obviously different views on it as has been discussed and that's what makes the world go around. I'll personally choose to treat others as I would be treated whether it be a friend's basement or a corporate facility such as Miller Park. If others don't choose the same, I'll agree with banana and say I won't get my shorts in a bind over it.
  15. The wave was started several times during extra innings, always when the Pirates were batting. It originated from the left field corner field level. It made it about 2 1/2 sections before petering out. I was borderline upset.
  16. I'll be at work at Miller Park all day. Sunday would be better for me if anybody wants to do some impromptu hitting.
  17. I am going trying to gauge interest in a fantasy football money league. It would be a live draft to probably take place at Miller Park in Milwaukee before Tuesday Sept. 2nd. The league may be a keeper league and other things can be discussed. I'm not looking to go overboard on the fees, likely $25. I want 10 teams minimum w/ 12 maximum. Likely payoffs for both regular season and playoffs. I'll get into further settings if I can get enough interest.
  18. I am seeking a lawsuit in the recent death of my Dad. Long Story Short...he went into the ER w/ arm pain and jaw pain. He was released 3 hours later with a diagnosis of a mouth infection. He begged and begged for them to do more testing or keep him overnight as he felt he was not getting any better. They refused, saying they were certain of his diagnosis and basically kicked him out. 8 hours later he was deceased. An autopsy showed a heart attack / blockage of the main artery. The autopsy also showed "no mouth infection whatsoever". The medical examiner is the one who after interviewing with us pre-autopsy, he post-autopsy recommended the lawsuit. I for one am not doing it so much for the money. I, as argumentative as I am, am bringing the lawsuit as a means to get the hospital/doctors/nurses to admit wrongdoing. I feel as if my ability to have another 30+ years of memories with my Dad was taken away from me over what could have been avoided with a two minute blood enzyme test or a 5-minute EKG. It's almost as if they didn't try. Brian, I have been in contact with both Habash & Habash and Aiken & Scoptur. I am very impressed with Aiken & Scoptur. Both firms only take on cases that they know they have a very good shot of winning, as they don't get paid if you don't get paid. Aiken & Scoptur have also been very successful in getting hospitals and the Wisconsin legislature to pass new laws in the way that hospitals and doctors perform. For example, they won a case in which a hospital sent home a 9-month old with a 104.7 degree fever. The child died 4 hours later at home. They were able to get new legislation as a result of winning the case in which hospitals no longer can send infants home with a temperature over 103.5 degrees. It is that kind of representation that I want. Perhaps this will require hospitals to change their practices in regards to simple testing for patients complaining of cardiac related ailments. That is another reason for wanting to bring the lawsuit, hoping to inflict change so that others may not suffer the same circumstances. I don't have answers to you specifically about your lawsuit, but I do know that you owe it to your wife and yourself to fight with everything you have and do some simple counseltations with some firms, including the two I listed above. Maybe you don't have a case, but the counseltations are always free. Don't hesitate on not having a better chance at the next 30+, physically, emotionally, and financially.
  19. People not standing during the National Anthem. What is their deal? 20-somethings with seemingly perfectly healthy feet and legs sitting in their seats feeding their faces with nachos and talking loudly while the National Anthem. I don't care if you so much don't want to remove your hat (which is half the battle) or place your hand on your heart or whatever, but atleast stand the hell up. edited for spelling
  20. I also agree on having a huge sentiment towards making the playoffs and my feelings won't be diminished because it's a wild card and not the division. We are the 2nd best team in the Central, may win 93 games or so. It's not our fault the Cubs went insane this season. In fact, I'd rather win the wild card than be handed a Division championship with only 81-83 wins like the D-backs or Dodgers may do.
  21. I know who you are speaking of. I just can't see an usher enforcing it for one "genre" of people and then let the 80yr old woman go to the bathroom only to hear an uproar from the 20-somethings who just got told to remain in their seats. Uniform enforcement is fair, yet can't be obtained w/ this problem.
  22. I hate it as much as anybody. But can imagine making an 80 year old woman or a mother with a small child hold their bladder? Won't happen.
  23. I pull the season ticket rank when in the parking lot. I can't stand the parking attendants and their (often) dumb decisions in the Mets lot. I couldn't agree more regarding a majority of the parking attendants. They act as if they are the secret service and are guarding the President. If I have to work a night game, I dread coming into work when parking attendants are already present. I understand the need to do your job, but I get stopped roughly 7 times and all of them look absolutely bewildered when I show them a parking pass. As if they don't know how to handle it. Then after seeing said pass, they attempt to send me in the total opposite direction that I need to go. And then once I pull into the Miller Lot, continuing on my way to the place I need to go, the attendant who is 50 yards ahead starts waving me down thinking I am going to park in the lot and he wants me park over by him. "No Sir, I'm going to the dock." "If you used that portable radio device on your hip instead of running 75 yards trying to track me down, you'd learn from the previous guy that I have a pass to park and won't be following your frantic waving motions." Some days, I just want to pay $8 and park in the farthest lot away that I can (Mets or Dodgers) and just avoid the frustration of having to explain 7-10 times what a parking pass is and where I need to go.
  24. If you never heard any of the crotchety series by Todd Schnitt (MJ Morning Show), then you certainly are missing out. Search YouTube for crotchety prank calls and enjoy.
  25. I wasn't talking about fans storming the field. I was talking about the players..specifically, I dont want to see the Cubs players storm the field after clinching a division, specifically not on the same day we clinch a wild card. But since it was brought up, I don't think I would personally storm the field. I think I'll want to have a close vantage point on the field level for some awesome photos.
