  1. Not really concerned with 2013. That World Championship has already been awarded. Any idea what the MLB record is for HR allowed per 9 over a season? This schmuck must be on pace to shatter it.
  2. This is getting ridiculous. Any idea what the MLB record is for HR allowed per 9 over a season (minimum 50IP, perhaps). This schmuck must be on pace to shatter it.
  3. Ill advised? The runner beat it by a step. Almost went into right field? It was an on target throw that was nowhere near an angle to end up in right field. It's either in the stands or along the wall behind first if Reynolds doesn't catch it. Wining run scores on the error? The winning run scores from first on what planet? 270 feet before somebody tracks it down? Weeks had a crap game, but come on man, that's just dramatic overtones.
  4. The eye test told me it wasn't a strike. I hope that Cole has a talk with Martin about how to conduct himself as a professional.
  5. Gameday/Pitch FX blow. I've sat with those guys in the box at Miller Park before and most of it is guess work.
  6. The Brewers would have to waive Wang first, then him go unclaimed, to include him in any deal in which the Pirates surrender their rights to him.
  7. Lots of called strikes today that don't appear to be strikes while watching the game. (I put zero weight on what Gameday or Pitch FX shows, as I think those products are worthless) But with the eye on tv, lots of called strikes. Huge zone seems to be a way to get those games from 2:58 to 2:30.

  9. Given that Lara is 16 years old, how soon could he be playing in the system? Could he be in Appleton in 2015, or does he have to wait until he is 18 years old? Would there be visa issues for him as a minor?
  10. That's a bit dramatic. Average game times (in 2013) were 2:58. Where did you find this info. I did a quick search and couldn't find it. http://www.businessinsider.com/mlb-games-length-instant-replay-system-2014-4.
  11. Sounds unlikely. I wouldn't mind giving Jeffress a shot. http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/brewers-look-closely-at-tom-gorzelannys-rehab-start-b99285835z1-262203351.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter It's either that or stop his rehab by June 12th. Or I guess they could 60-day DL him, but the DL police might come and start an investigation.
  12. That's a bit dramatic. Average game times (in 2013) were 2:58. I too have noticed these later start times. I think Arizona is starting at 7:40 local time later this year. I would love a 6:30pm start time. If work interference doesn't allow a person to make a night game...a weekend night game might be a better personal choice. In line with that, I wish Saturday games were day games as well.
  13. Twins signed Morales. It's either the status quo, Hunter Morris, or a july trade.
  14. I reckon the move is Gorzelanny.
  15. At all? Middle of next week. W/ the Brewers? Adam McCalvy says not happenin'
  16. Saying his deal is up is not completely accurate. He has his final year of arby eligible next year and won't be a free agent until 2016. So to rid yourself of Gallardo's $13M and acquire Price's $16M estimate in 2015 (he made $14M in 2014), isn't exactly the way the Brewers do business. Having lived in Tampa and having followed the Rays closely from 1998-2007; 2009-2013, I can tell you that isn't how they do business either. There is no way that Friedman is going to trade away 1.5 years of Price and take on Gallardo for $3M less to simply acquire marginal pitching talent and a prospective power bat. Friedman typically acquires one thing and it's young, controllable, can't miss starting pitching. It's to a fault and it shows. They don't acquire the bats they need and it's why they aren't more successful. I realize there takes culpability that I'm not insinuating was even there, but the Rays could/should have acquired Prince Fielder for Jeremy Hellickson in 2010, but they just won't part with their starting pitching. I don't have a pulse on the long term for Price, but I'd put the odds at 1% that he gets traded in 2014. IF the Rays are in the same position in June 2015 that they are now, I think they will trade him. Unfortunately, I don't think the Brewers have enough of what they want. Young, controllable, CAN'T MISS, starting pitchers.
  17. Yes it would! What is the high water mark this year so far? 12 over .500 and 6.5 games up?
  18. I don't understand the love affair with Kintzler...in fact, I don't understand his roster placement in general.
