  1. Wolfottaras lives! (lineup pending, of course) It would be a nice way to start the season if the Brewers could take two of three from the Cardinals. Looks like another good day to be out at the ballpark. Oh, Easter baseball.
  2. I can actually say I noticed an improvement today for AT&T. Last year my iPhone 4 basically was a brick. Today I was able to tweet/text throughout the game. Uploading pictures, etc. didn't really work, and I didn't try anything that would really pull data, but for what I'd use my phone during the game for I was able to eek through.
  3. George Kottaras = gun show. Based on the party atmosphere of Opening Day, I wasn't surprised the boo birds were out in the third inning. Yo didn't have it today, just one of those days. Apparently Manny Parra didn't have it either, so Yo wasn't alone. Mat Gamel looked good, Braun easily received the biggest ovations, followed by Nyjer Morgan. Aoki's leg kick is crazy, reminded me of the big leg lift Jenkins used to have, but Aoki strides with his. All in all, it is just good to have baseball back. I missed Miller Park.

  5. This "Yes! Yes! Yes!" business is dangerously close to becoming the new "What?" I really didn't watch when Brock was around, so it was interesting to see him get such a pop.
  6. If I'm Daniel Bryan or Sheamus I'm legit mad that my match got squashed so Brodius Clay could cut a promo.
  7. Pending the finish, this match has been better than last years. A lot more energy.
  8. Daniel Bryan had an 18 second match so Undertaker could take three minutes and 50 seconds to get to the ring. Awesome.
  9. This show is weird so far. Beth has to kind of feel like she's getting jobbed. She's the women's champion and they come out to Eve's music? Really?
  10. The pre-show tag match was better than that, and it wasn't even close. Sad, because that match was one of the few that could have actually stolen the show.
  11. I didn't even think of the Orton/Kane or Divas match as they were both so irrelevant to me, ha. Yeah, I am sure there will be random celebrity cameos and other "comedy" stuff going on.
  12. I definitely thought it was a blah RAW. The closing Rock-Cena segment seemed to lack any type of intrigue for me. I had a feeling Booker would get the last spot on Team Teddy when he was slated to do commentary randomly. The best moment of the night was "Miz, welcome to Team Teddy ... Johnny!" I'm sure they'll add some random unannounced filler matches for WM, like Brodius may get a squash. I wouldn't be surprised to see some random tag match with Primo and Epico facing Camacho and Hunico or something, either. I'm not really that excited for WrestleMania this year, the card just seems kind of meh. The 12-man tag is really where a lot of the guys who I'd rather see go 10-15 minutes are. Maybe SmackDown will do a better job churning it up.
  13. Fair warning, where George Kottaras throws out a runner or hits a home run, the "gun show" quote will be referenced intermittently. You'd think they'd have spent more time with Nyjer, but I guess since he's trying to be on good behavior this year he's keeping it on the down low.
  14. I got the move around, too. Last year my fan's choice was usually between 424-418, this year I'm basically back to where I was in 2010. We're anywhere from 432 to 410 this year with maybe one game in the home plate area. Oh well.
  15. Instead of Miz, I could see JL picking up Drew McIntyre as part of his team as a way for McIntyre to start getting a push again. It would slightly balance out the teams a bit more, too. JL re-signs McIntyre, he starts beating all the same guys Brodius Clay beat, then by Wrestlemania he's not a complete joke.
  16. Overall, I think the PPV was pretty good last night. The RAW chamber match had higher spots with Kofi and Ziggler bumping all over, while Miz put in a good showing being the last guy with Punk. The Smackdown chamber was actually well done. They worked within the limitations of the guys in the ring to tell a good story. I don't think I'm ever going to understand why Santino is so over, but him being in the chamber actually worked. It was the first legitimate win for Bryan in a while, so it helped to put him over, too. Cody and Barrett both had good showings, picking up some of the momentum lost from them putting over Khali in recent weeks. The Tamina-Beth match was really slow, but I actually enjoy watching Beth work, she's kind of a throwback to the era when the divas actually could wrestle.
  17. Just off the top of my head: Player of the Year: Aramis Ramirez Pitcher of the Year: Yovani Gallardo Rookie of the Year: Aoki Most Improved Player: Yovani Gallardo Questions Answered: 1) Who will get the first contract extension? Zack Greinke 2) Who will be the first traded away or released (off the expected 25 man roster)? Traded: K-Rod Released: George Kottaras (every year it seems like they try to replace him, only for him to come back) 3) What position in the NL Central will the Brewers finish? Second Record: 86-76
  18. I noticed that live. I giggled about that to myself while saying: ".....aaaand no one cares."
  19. I pretty much agree with everything said about RAW. I felt like I was watching Smackdown last night with all of the Smackdown guys being on. The only other terrible time filler they could have provided was a Santino Marella match. The Divas match was a complete throw away trying to build up Tamina. They could've had Brodus squash Otunga instead of Sheamus. It's not like Sheamus squashing Otunga does anything for anyone. I love how they try to give Khali credibility by having him pin Rhodes, only to get RKO'ed by Orton. Sigh.
  20. It annoys me in general that they seem to bury everybody except the same 5 or so guys, then wonder why no one gets over. They just spent like three months building up Ziggler only to job him twice in two nights. The RAW chamber match shows this to a tee. Kofi's been tag teaming putting over Primo and Epico and now he gets a title match? Okay then. Miz and Truth have been putting each other over and have been no where near the title chase, and Jericho's been back for a month. If only they'd have put Jack Swagger in there for even more laughs, considering he'll probably put over Santino at some point. Having four faces (Jericho is technically a heel, but in the "the crowd still likes you even if you do heel things" sense) in the final four at the Rumble was boring. I used to rib on Triple H vs. the Rock match 1,346, but the way they jump through feuds and pushes these days really does hurt the credibility of these guys in the long term.
  21. It was pretty busy early in the day. Random observations: They cut off the Nyjer Morgan line by 10:45 and he didn't even start signing until Noon. I didn't see too many awesome things at the rummage sale. They had some Casey McGehee bobbleheads (there was at least one retro) for $5. Other random stuff included Geoff Jenkins mousepads, J.J. Hardy posters, and random bags/tailgating chairs. I was tempted by the small Yuni B nameplate if only for the comedic value, but I passed. They had some kind of mystery bags, but I'm not sure what were in those. The grab bags were easily the most popular item. They said that you could only get one bag per ticket. The bag I got had all kids stuff in it, hopefully some of the other bags were more useful to individuals without children. Players and front office staff were really just meandering around. I may or may not have accidentally photobombed Doug Melvin at one point. Overall, it was a good time.
  22. Adam McCalvy's synopsis of what the winner of spending a day with him would get proved quite amusing to me: "one very unlucky fan will shadow me for a day, which entails loitering on the field during batting practice, spitting sunflower seeds at Haudricourt and eating brats all night up in the press box." I could see myself doing all of those things. The owners seats would be pretty sweet, too. I know you want to manage the mini-sausage race, hawing. :p
  23. Thanks for playing, Casey. From all accounts a great guy. Veras actually will slot into the bullpen nicely, it seems.
  24. Can't blame him for taking the Cubs job. Brewers passed on him twice after being promoted to interim manager in 2008. Seems like he's earned an opportunity, so good for him. Adam McCalvy was speculating on twitter that maybe the Brewers will offer the job to Sandy Guerrero, or even Counsell if he decides to hang 'em up for good.
  25. The main draws are: a) autographs, b) memorabilia (they have a "rummage sale" with some decent stuff, but collectors usually get there right at the opening and snag most of the good stuff), c) memorabilia vendors (there is usually a whole row of people selling sports related memorabilia), and d) random presentations put on by the Brewers (player/coach interviews, team family feud, etc.), then it might not be worth it. If they like any of that, go for it.
