  1. If I were RR I would walk out there and take Betancourt out of the game right now. He didn't even move to even attempt to reach that ball. Ridiculous.
  2. Alright, Wolfotarras. Hopefully the bromance brings home the victory tonight. If I had to choose between Hairston in CF with McGehee at 3B and Gomez in CF with Hairston at 3B I'd choose tonight's lineup, and it isn't even close. Get on the board early and do not let up. End this tonight.
  3. These announcers are absolutely brutal. I realize they haven't been watching the Brewers at all other than in the post-season, but oy.
  4. It was a very interesting crowd today. Early it seemed like it was going to be a split Brewers/Packers crowd again as there was a lot of buzzing and cheering in the concourses when (from what I assumed) the Packers scored. From start to finish the crowd wasn't nearly as electric as yesterday, but in spots it was pretty awesome, especially the bottom of the 6th. From Yuni's walk until the pitching change before Weeks most people were standing and cheering. Being up 2-0 is awesome. I smelled the squeeze with Lucroy a mile away. I think Gibson and the D-Backs thought it might be on with Yuni because everything was way outside. Beast mode!
  5. I love how they announce the roof will be closed as if there is any doubt. Unless it is 70 degrees outside, the roof stays closed. That's just how they roll. I don't agree with it, but I'm used to it. Casey is 5-5 against Hudson, and I think it was McCalvy who speculated RRR was leaning towards starting him today. Hopefully today is as grand as yesterday. Save us, Zack Greinke!
  6. I was there. Hawing came to visit me all the way in 410. I appreciated that.
  7. Bloomquist getting thrown out at the plate in the first inning ended up being a huge play. It kept the crowd into the game early. Great crowd today. Yo did a fantastic job on the mound, and Kirk Gibson handed us runs by pitching to Lucroy with a base open and pitching to Prince with a base open. Nice to get game one, especially with minimal bullpen usage. All hands on deck behind Zack tomorrow since he's going on three days rest.
  8. I was oddly calm all last night and even this morning. Now that it is time to get ready and head over to the ballpark I'm starting to get a few nerves. I'm excited for what will be coming and what we will see. I've seen some magical moments this year in person (Prince walk-off vs. COL, both blown saves by Cordero, Plush walk-off SF, clinching night) and I'm hoping to add a few more to the list this post-season.
  9. Get this done today, Brewers. Put together some good at bats, play good defense, and get some runs! I'm excited to see what the atmosphere at the ballpark will be. Ahhhh, gotta go!!
  10. As a terrace veteran, the railings can be a nuisance the closer you are to them. It's not always the railings themselves, but there are almost always people going up and down directly in your sightline. If you're around home plate (424-420 area), the pillars can obstruct your view of the right field line and first base as well. It's not too bad, just slightly inconvenient.
  11. I'll also nominate the play where Yuni glove-flipped to Weeks for a double play.
  12. Most of the things I would mention have already been mentioned, but Prince's HR/Gomez's catch that helped us overtake the Cardinals on June 12 definitely rate high on my list, too. I'd also say Greinke's home run and Yo's home run, along with miscellaneous pictures of beast mode would be good, too.
  13. You get a padded folding chair. It's a great area to sit. Last year they had folding chairs and companion seats bolted in, but they ripped all the companion seats out and it's just chairs now. I don't see why you couldn't sit there if tickets are available.
  14. Both teams better hope it is cloudy Sunday. A 3:30 start will be tough with the sun glare from the RF glass panels dragging across the plate and into left field eventually. I'm glad they didn't get stuck with say an 11:00am start time, though.
  15. If that was RR's effort to boost Casey's ego, he failed miserably. No excuse to use McGehee over Kottaras against a nasty RHP. None.
  16. Great game. Like hawing, I was not surprised to see Braun come through in the least. That guy is unreal. The 9th inning was amusing in that my 20-pack mate was checking his phone (I have an iPhone which becomes an iBrick at Miller Park, thanks to AT&T) for updates on the Cubs-Cardinals game, I was paying attention to the game, and just as Ax was getting close to closing it out the ballpark goes nuts after finding out Soriano hit the 3-run jack. In true Soriano style, he cadillaced that one all the way, too. The clinching moment was everything I thought it would be. Confetti, streamers, and joy everywhere. We stayed for at least an hour, then considered getting in line for merch but the lines were way too long. We went and caught a drink on the east side then went back at 2am, the team shop was pretty sparse, but they still had lots of hats and the racing sausages were there. Fist bumps were exchanged with the Italian, Brat, and Chorizo. There are actually two caps that say NL Central Champions. I bought the navy one with 2011 written vertically. Now I need to upload my photos and get to bed so I can go to Fan Appreciation Night tomorrow and win a wonderful prize. Or watch hawing win a wonderful prize. Either way, good times will be had. I'm really proud of the team. The work isn't done yet, though.
  17. I'll be there all weekend (Friday-Sunday), raring and ready to go. Get it done!
  18. That's my dawg! http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slideshows/406/slideshow_40667/display_image.jpg?x=527517
  19. In before 15 pictures of JJ Hardy. http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/zz176/thebaseballgenius/Random%20Brewers/EricYoung.jpg
  20. It was slightly tongue-in-cheek. I wouldn't be surprised to see RRR try to get anyone who is hitting into the lineup, though.
  21. Here is what I've got: MIL - 8-4 - @ CIN (1-2), @ CHC (2-1), FLA(2-1), PIT (3-0) StL - 7-6 - @ PHI (1-3), NYM (2-1), CHC (2-1), @ HOU (2-1) ARZ - 10 - 2 - @ SD (3-0), PIT (3-0), SF( 2-1), LAD (2-1) ATL - 3-9 - NYM (1-2), @ FLA (1-2), @ WSH (1-2), PHI (0-3) Brewers sleepwalk through the Cincy series, giving D-Train his first win but steal one of the first two. With St. Louis flailing against the Phillies buzz-saw, RRR decides for the final 9 games he needs to get JHJ in the lineup for Yuni, hoping to get more offense in the lineup on a consistent basis. Arizona continues to play out of their mind and runs away with the #2 seed. Atlanta tanks the final two weeks and just when it looks like the Cardinals will sweep the Astros and take the Wild Card, their bullpen blows a late lead and they lose on a Jason Bourgeois walk-off. Brewers clinch next Friday.
  22. I'm pretty sure we're spoiled with how good Ryan Braun is at baseball. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z8molkl3ciI/TjrlQ0Z4Q8I/AAAAAAAATWE/U86MP4CAbOM/s1600/Mark+Loretta.jpg
  23. Way to play spoiler, Pirates! http://www.bestsportsphotos.com/images/t_29951_01.jpg Single digits!
  24. Did it overheat? I know my treadmill has a setting where if it gets too warm it will shot off. When I let it sit and cool for a while it was fine.
  25. Fiers may just be up to throw sim games to Weeks, too. McCalvy mentioned the other day he asked about why they hadn't recalled Peralta or Fiers to do that.
