  1. The Braves used Livan as a long man earlier this year, so he could be coming in as a long man, too. Either way, this doesn't exactly speak well of what's going on with Marcum's elbow.
  2. Miller Park is a stadium that represents Milwaukee. It's not nearly as posh as some of the newer stadiums, especially when it comes to the concourses, but it has a charm that feels like home. With the addition of the new scoreboard, picnic area in RF, Gehl Club, and with the already established Club level and NYCE Club, it's a stadium that has a little bit of everything for everyone. There's even fancy beer on the terrace level now!
  3. I was listening to sports talk radio today (yeah, I know, I shouldn't do that) and half of the callers were saying this. They were also saying RRR shouldn't have pitched Axford last night even though he voluntarily showed up to work. It's a complete bullpen issue, just not one guy. If Ax were the only guy who was struggling, maybe it might make sense to pick some low leverage spots with him while working with him on the side and let K-Rod close. Since most of the bullpen is struggling and K-Rod has been one of the better relievers, by putting him in a position where he only pitches in the 9th inning with a lead (or tied at home), that actually puts the team at a bigger disadvantage. If Axford struggles in the 8th inning, there is no save opportunity for K-Rod anyway. The main agenda item should be to get him back on track, unless he feels he can't do that as the closer, keep him where he is.
  4. He had good composure. He pitched up, a lot, which was a bit concerning. Might have been nerves, might have been the planned location. If nothing else, I was impressed by how he handled himself mentally, he never really appeared distressed or like the situation was too big for him. That's a good sign going forward.
  5. Tyler Thornburg just hit the ball harder than anyone in our lineup so far. Awesome, lol.
  6. Take your date to a sports bar, dating woah solvdd! That, or just DVR it. Or spring for a "surprise" Brewers game with your date! Shows that you are "spontaneous" and dating woah solvdd! This has the makings of a wild game. I am interested to see how Thornburg handles this opportunity.
  7. So this PPV is what a three hour RAW will be like. Awesome. It really says something between suspensions and injuries when Hunico and Sin Cara are curtain jerking for the main events.
  8. Listening to Booker T is just brutal. Less brutal than watching Ryback, but brutal nonetheless.
  9. 3TO Juan is here. Which true outcome will decide the bottom of the 15th? The two runners on third thing was slightly comical.
  10. I'm really glad we didn't end up with Jamey Carroll. Also, Ryan Braun is good at baseball.
  11. Correct, and Pena turned back as soon as he saw the throw to 2B. It's a low percentage chance for an out, especially with a fast runner in front of Pena. I get that it's an instinct play to go after the trail runner, but in that situation it's irrelevant.
  12. Dearest Edwin, the trail runner is irrelevant in that situation. Best case is he's got a low baseball IQ and runs into an out. Worst case... well, we just saw that. Oof.
  13. It is easy for the mind to cloud how good Sheets really was due to the aliments and injuries (oh, vestibular neuritis, I remember you). I definitely wish him the best of luck. Hopefully he can come back and then go out on his terms.
  14. Should have left Ransom in to squeeze. Kottaras had two meaty fastballs he looked at. Conrad, Maldonado, and Maysonet are all coin flips at that point. Disappointing end, but it happens.
  15. Hawing has the rally cap going. All is well, all is well. Nice effort by Zack tonight, he was pretty fantastic.
  16. Okay, offense. Less of this: http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/wall.gif. I wonder if anyone is going to complain that Nyjer bunted during a no hitter.
  17. Gomez pre-tweeted his outfit, absolutely hilarious (he's in the white hat on the end with the giant $ chain). The Nintendo shirt makes Manny Parra's outfit. Motley Brew (Kottaras, Estrada, Loe, Axford) went above and beyond, while Randy Wolf is channeling Elton John. Yo and Tim Dillard hanging there in the back dressed like enforcers is pretty sweet, too. I'm pretty sure this trumps Western Wear Day.
  18. The Kansas City Royals did find out that yes indeed, Bill Hall can pitch (http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=8455089). He's no Drew Butera, but high 80's isn't bad.
  19. Vader still looked like, well, Vader. Pretty cool moment.
  20. Hey, Dolph Ziggler finally won a match! He'll totally speedbump to Sheamus, but probably put on a better showing than Del Rio. I wonder how long Mr. McMahon has been practicing that Brodius Clay dance he did.
  21. Hawing's converted Villanueva to Maldonado shirt is pretty fantastic. If you want to show people, you could always ImageShack or Photobucket it. Speaking of jersey sightings, I saw a retro Suppan in the terrace concourse. In regards to the ninth inning, I think the Padres caught on to the fact the strike zone had shrunken badly. Maybe they were trying to work walks, but it almost got them all the way back.
  22. Here are my votes: SP: Manny Parra C: Jason Kendall 1B: Russell Branyan 2B: Keith Ginter SS: Yuni B 3B: Wes Helms LF: Kevin Mench CF: Mark Kotsay RF: Gabe Gross RP: Grant Balfour An honorable mention to Jose Capellan for RP and JJ Hardy for SS. I feel like Mat Gamel needs to be in here somewhere because we've been trying to free Mat Gamel for three years now but I couldn't find anywhere for him. Maybe DH.
  23. That 9th inning was way more dramatic than it needed to be. Baker went around on the check swing, I have photographic evidence. Winning ugly is better than losing.
  24. That was a compelling game. I still recount Vlad hitting a pitch at his ankles to break up the no-no. Junior Spivey committing errors. Geoff Jenkins striking out 6 times. As I was watching the game in the middle of the night I'm pretty sure I yelled at my TV "Run Craig, run!" As far as the thread, I enjoy how whenever the Brewers are in extra innings or have a really long game now someone mentions cheese sandwiches because of that thread.
  25. It sounds like you're just going to miss the Wisconsin State Fair, which would have probably been a hilarious and enjoyable look into Wisconsin summer festival life, fried everything. Thankfully for you, in the right field corner they do have a sampling of fried foods like you might find at the state fair (including deep fried bacon). A Wisconsin tailgate is a must, though.
