  1. Kotsay's a California guy. This is probably just as much about him wanting to be there as it is them wanting him.
  2. I've seen quite a few neat things. I was there for the Mike Stanton walk-off balk in 2005. The Fielder walk-off in 14 innings last year was a moment I'll never forget. At the crack of the bat it felt like everyone jumped to their feet in unison. Braun's home run vs. the Marlins and then waiting around for the Cubs-Cardinals game to end on the night the Brewers clinched the division title last year. Obviously NLDS Game 5.
  3. I'd also go with 7. Greinke was dealt because he wasn't going to immediately re-sign and the team isn't in a place to compete this year. It makes complete sense. The front office still feels the team can compete in 2013 provided they don't do a complete tear down (Hart, Ramirez, etc.) and I'm fine with that. Guys like Wolf and K-Rod who likely won't be here next year would have been sell low candidates based on recent performance, so holding onto them into August isn't going to necessarily be of complete detriment considering their salaries are already accounted for. A playoff contending team is one major injury away from seeking an established veteran to fill in and if Wolf or K-Rod do well early in August they could re-establish some value.
  4. You do at minimum need a guess pass into the NYCE Club. Reservations are recommended, but depending on the game it might be available. Yes, you can go up more than once. There's enough available that going up more than once shouldn't be an issue. The buffet carries a Vegas price, but isn't completely awful. It doesn't include dessert. If you don't want the buffet they also have a small menu of other foods.
  5. Did Izturis raise his trade value enough to be traded before the deadline? Quite the play on both ends. Hart has been absolutely fantastic at first base. I thought Izturis had no shot when he had to dive, but he got it there.
  6. Over/under on Wolf-Maldonado mound conferences (not counting official visits from Kranitz/RR): 7.
  7. Chuck & Wickett is basically the Milwaukee sports version of Mike and Mike. Chuck gets shouty about stuff and Wickett chimes in as needed. It's not necessarily bad, but I wouldn't necessarily call it destination listening. Most mornings I flip back and forth between that and Steve Czaban on Yahoo! Sports Radio. Czaban's a national show, but he's a little bit more in tune with midwest sports since he is the regular sports guy for 102.9 The Hog in Milwaukee at 8:05am every morning.
  8. This is exactly what we will hear in the post game: "We had a 5 run lead, Zack hasn't pitched in 10 days, I have faith in those guys, we're just not getting it done." No one will press RR on it. They'll ask Zack if he wanted to stay in and he'll default. This is truly laughable.
  9. My guess is they might try to move Kottaras. If they don't the option I'd consider is keeping Kottaras and DFA'ing Ishikawa. Kottaras can play first base in a pinch, as can Ransom. They have 4 outfielders and Corey Hart, who started the season as an outfielder. If you're going to have a primary left handed pinch hitter off the bench I'd rather it be Kottaras and it isn't even close.
  10. I'm pretty much a fan of any Michaels match, so I didn't necessarily disagree.
  11. WWE.com put up a top 50 matches in RAW history link, it was interesting to scroll through and see some of the matches and some of the names. John Morrison came up a few different times, he was fun to watch in WWE. No surprise, a Cena match was number one. The surprise is he lost that match against Michaels.
  12. Ziggler's in ring work reminds me a lot of Shawn Michaels. He knows how to make guys look good and how to make himself look good. If they brand him right he can stand out as a heel.
  13. The Punk-Bryan match was a good match despite the anti-climatic ending. Overall, the PPV has exceeded my expectations of it so far.
  14. Hopefully Ziggler isn't the first MITB winner to lose. If they follow the Bryan script from last year fine, but they've gotta put the strap on him at some point. He's good.
  15. Today's Mets vs. Braves game is the MLB.TV free game of the day. A nice opportunity for those who want to catch Sheets' start today.
  16. I like the AJ angle, but the opening promo on RAW was the most painstakingly slow moving promo since Spring when the Undertaker paused after every third word. Hornswaggle as the anonymous GM was awful and hokey. It'll be interesting to see how things play out when they go three hours. Maybe it will finally give them something better to do with guys like Swagger, McIntyre, Ziggler, etc. than bury them for the likes of Santino.
  17. As someone who was at the game, they did a variety of things during the 15 minute stoppage of play, not just the "Get Up and Dance" section. My impression is it was to keep the younger members of the crowd occupied. In the section I was sitting there were children who were blissfully ignorant of the tragedy going on, which I think given their ages is probably a good thing. Very sad turn of events, though.
  18. Lock it up, the highlight of Money in the Bank will be watching AJ take another awesome bump during the Punk-Bryan match. My money is on Bryan making AJ bump with Kane coming out and chokeslamming him, setting up Bryan and Kane for Summerslam and leaving Punk as champ. They should just give that match an hour, because the rest of the card is shaping up to be somewhat brutal. You'll probably have the Prime Time Playas vs. Kofi and Truth, Smackdown's MitB match with Tyson Kidd and Damien Sandow, the Super Cena MitB match, and then what? Sheamus and ADR? Dolph putting over someone? Another pointless Ryback squash? All of these PPV's really don't give them enough time to build up feuds that well.
  19. Hey, a true 5 that can play defense! As he's an expiring contract it isn't a long term fix, but short term he is probably a better fit than anyone that can be had in the draft. With Udoh and Sanders as backups C should be situated. They still have a glut of forward types, so I'm guessing they may now be thinking guard.
  20. I am pretty sure Aroldis' victory rolls have outclassed anything Papa Grande or Francisco Cordero have ever done. [sarcasm]Where's Pujols to mitigate these type of shenanigans![/sarcasm] Chapman is nasty, so it's not like facing him is a walk in the park. I'd look to the poor offense in the first seven innings as a culprit instead of at bats had by two bench guys (asterisk of course for Maldonado) and Ryan Braun.
  21. Marcum goes to the DL as the corresponding move for Ishikawa coming off the DL. Considering Marcum wasn't slotted in to pitch until next weekend anyway, this isn't a surprise. Hopefully he'll be back sooner than later. http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/2012/06/23/marcum-to-dl-ishikawa-reinstated/
  22. Regarding transportation, the Milwaukee County Transit System does run a city bus, route 90, to all Brewers games. It comes up Wisconsin avenue, which is a major bus hub area. For those with clean bills of health, Route 10 also stops on Wisconsin avenue within walking distance of the stadium. With all of the bar shuttles and cabs, I'd say public transportation is adequately addressed.
  23. One of my favorite threads, I just get a kick out of the fact that, yes, he actually did pitch.
  24. Hall did pitch vs. Kansas City a few years ago, so yes, we can add pitcher, too! Bill's giving OCNN a run for its money today!
  25. If true, a likely scenario I see is that maybe the Brewers let him know if he pitches well as a long man and Fiers or Estrada struggle, he can compete for a rotation spot. It became apparent he wasn't going to get that opportunity with Atlanta.
