  8. http://gifs.gifbin.com/082009/1251108566_mascot-ride-fail.gif The Brewers offense when Lohse pitches, or with runners on base vs. the Rangers on Wednesday.
  9. Congrats, Adam. Be sure to connect with UWM's Career Development Center, they are very helpful with job search tips. Also, there is a career fair on campus this Thursday, May 9, from 11-2pm. Good luck!
  10. http://i.imgur.com/l4saW.gif We all know who is who here. :\
  11. That feeling when you watch Jean Segura play baseball after suffering through last season's shortstop debacle: http://replygif.net/i/904.gif Also multiple back-to-back HR jobs.
  12. It sounds like Quentin is holding grudges on a TLR-like level: "Myself and Greinke have a history. It dates back a few years. You guys can look it up. It's documented. It could have been avoided. You can ask Zack about that. For me, I've been hit by many pitches in my career. I think you guys know that. I can tell you I've never responded in that fashion, so you guys can do your homework on that. For me, the situation is done. That's it." (from http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130412&content_id=44551080&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb) That said, Greinke threw down his glove, lowered his shoulder, and went at Quentin, too. What happened is just basic physics, he's going to take the majority of the impact considering he was barely moving and Quentin had a head start.
  13. Reyunited and it feels so good. I'll add to the .gifness: http://gifs.gifbin.com/389198g6g60.gif This is what I think of when anyone mentions Yuni B, since half the internet explodes with anger/rage/sadness, while people like me just shrug and carry on. Based on what the options were looking like, I'm glad to see Yuni back in the fold. Once they signed Lohse I figured there was no way they were going into the season with Blake Lalli, Donnie Murphy, and Khris Davis as the back end of their bench.
  14. The "save the date" email went out for the autograph early renewal incentive today. It looks like the date will be April 20, with specific times to be sent in a postal mailing just after opening day. Those who were selected to get Corey Hart balls will still get them, but he isn't going to be there, per the email.
  15. When I went in 2010 I found packages online where I could buy tickets to different places/museums and when packaged together it was cheaper than buying them individually. I'd recommend The Cloisters if for nothing else the views. If you get a nice day you'll be able to catch some great sights outside the museum. Some neat stuff inside, too. Madame Tussauds wax museum was fun. Walking Times Sqaure is fun, I found a trophy that said "World's Greatest Employee" there. Museum of Modern Art was a good time as well. I did Rock Center instead of Empire State Building for the overall city views, no regrets on that. If you go over to Staten Island at all take the ferry back so you can see Manhattan, it's a neat view.
  16. I'm going to go with Gallardo under the "he's not a true ace!" argument that has already reared its ugly head in the past. Now that he's the universally recognized number one starter if he "underperforms" I could see "Gallardo is not a true ace!" posts, and maybe even a Capuano like "____ is the true ace of this team!" type post.
  17. They lied about the bobbles "all being the same." They just didn't want people looking in the boxes (which I understand, the way they enforced it was quite poor though). There were at least 6 people looking in the boxes, so that's probably why they did it. I found a retro Greinke (which someone snagged from under my nose while I was looking at the Morgan bobbles) and as hawing said, a "T" Morgan.
  18. I can also vouch for the food and beer at the Ale House. I used to work downtown and would have dinner there at least once a month.
  19. I'd be open to attending. There are tons of places that might be good fits depending on what type of food, etc. people are thinking of.
  20. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I'm 30 and just recently lost my mom (my dad passed maybe 5ish years ago), so I know all too well what you're going through. If there is a will that would likely help a lot. If your dad worked be sure to check on life insurance policies, 401K's, pensions, etc. Those are going to be a primary method of financial support for you in getting the estate situated. I second hawing's recommendation of using UWM's resources. They actually have free legal counsel for students, so I'd recommend checking that out. I can't remember their website now, but I can post that for you tomorrow. (edit: http://www4.uwm.edu/studentorg/ulc/) The biggest thing right now is to establish your new normal. You truly find out who your friends and family are in this time. For the first few weeks everyone is there, then it is really the people who care about you. Hang in there.
  21. I think this game needs some cheese sandwiches. Usually when I'm up this late it's a replay, ah well. Who needs spoilers?
  22. At some point I'd like to hear a recap of Kalle's time in Milwaukee from his perspective. It was great to meet him. After the Wednesday day game as I was walking out Kalle called to me from above where I was sitting and I was able to jumping high five him, easily a highlight of the game. All in all, the Brewers performed pretty well in that homestand.
  23. My favorite part of tonight's game was seeing Kalle8's joy after the last out. Hawing can vouch that it was pretty awesome. When Marcum comes back can we just piggyback him and Estrada so Marco never has to face an order the third time? Or piggyback Fiers and Estrada if they're limiting Fiers' innings? I'm not sure if this should be in blue or not, lol.
  24. Now Haudricourt says 34. The Brewers have 43 games left. In order to break that record they'd have to blow a save in 28% of their remaining games. Based on recent trends a pace of 3 out of 10 games with a blown save is doable.
  25. I am legitimately curious as to what the all time record is for team blown saves in a season. This team is kind of like the cat you love and cherish and no matter how many times it bites, scratches, or pukes on your rug every day you keep coming back to feed and pet it.
