  2. X-rays for Hart were negative. Give him a day off today, coupled with tomorrow's day off to give his hand time to heal. Pretty awful line-up. At least it's against the Lastro's and they can get everyone ready to go for St. Louis.
  3. I like that idea. I'll just blame it on LaRussa. Thanks for the responses. Must have just been one of those things. You can remove the post now that I know it was just me. Thanks.
  4. I know this isn't the right thread, just wanted to know if anyone else couldn't get into the Forum since yesterday after the game. I kept trying to get in and it kept giving me the message "No Gateway" with a white screen. Just wanted to know if it was just my computer or something else.

  6. The Reds would beat us. A reason to not like playing them. But the Cards, they give us all sorts of reasons to hate them. The main reason I like the Reds more than the Cards: http://www.daytondailynew...e_dissect_the_chris.html One of the best things ever printed.
  7. I know Betancourt's defense sucks, I think everyone can agree on that one. However, everyone says that now Yuni is starting to hit. He actually just had one really bad month. He's hit every other month. When they got him in the off-season, I figured he'd be around .270-.280 and that would be good enough with the rest of the offense. The problem is that McGehee has been so bad they needed Yuni to do better to overcome the void left by McGehee sucking. April .273 May .178 June .284 July .301

  9. TH just tweeted that it is a severe ankle sprain. No surgery needed. Out 3-6 weeks.
  10. Rosenthal tweeting that Weeks will be out 2-4 weeks.
  11. Looks like it's official according to mlbtraderumors. Some $$ still needs to be finalized, but Jackson to the Cardinals and Rasmus to the Blue Jays.
  12. As much as I can't stand the guy, Betancourt is not the main problem right now, it's McGehee. At least Betancourt has hit the ball since June 1, hitting .290. His defense still sucks, but at least he's hitting. McGehee, although has had better at bats lately, still isn't getting the hits and he still can't play defense. 3B is the black hole right now that needs to be improved.
  13. I think we'd get him for 2 PTBNL, if the Mets tossed in some cash.
  14. Prince, you're so dreamy! Why don't you come sit down right here next to me!
  15. He's $%$+% awful. He'd be good on the Astro's, but not on a 1st place team.
  16. Nothing to report? No injury according to Gord Ash. That's a lie.
  17. I read it somewhere else and I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if on Wednesday when the Brewers activate Grienke, we also see Gallardo take a trip to the DL with some type of ailment, i.e. arm fatigue, sore shoulder, bad haircut, etc. whatever, in an effort to keep Estrada in the rotation-assuming Estrada pitches well Tuesday night-so they can try and figure out what's going on with Gallardo.
  18. I think it should absolutely be a cause for concern. Being able to close out games and win the close ones is a trademark of good teams. It is still early and they can get better, but in a couple weeks if the Brewers have 3 or 4 more of these ones they let get away, it very well could mean the difference in a playoff spot.
  19. Thought this was pretty good. http://www.onionsportsnet...-doing-this-again,19870/
  20. I didn't think they would announce it before tonights game. I figure if something did happen, they would announce it after tonight's game or sometime tomorrow morning.
  21. Gomez would be up on Sept. 1 regardless, so keeping him up here now, fine. Whatever. As long as Cain is getting the majority of the starts I'm fine with it. Next season is what I'm more concerned about. As of right now, the Brewers know what they have in Gomez. At the very least, start him at AAA next year and see if he can figure it out. I would say that with the way he's playing right now, if he's on the Brewers Opening Day roster, I would question the commitment to winning because there is no way he should be in Milwaukee. And this whole thing about the trade being a bust-who cares. The Brewers saved a ton of money and it directly gave Escobar his chance and indirectly gave Cain his chance.
  22. Riske seems like a good guy and I hope he has success somewhere else, as long as it's not against the Brewers. The only reason I think this move sucks is because it means Gomez is coming back.
  23. Per ESPN, Sweet Lou is retiring after todays game. I guess he can't even stand to watch the Cubs play anymore.
  24. I remember Opening Day 2007 when he threw a 2-hitter vs the Dodgers. Funnest game I've ever been to, and probably the best pitched, too.
  25. http://www.daytondailynews.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/cincinnatireds/entries/2010/08/09/before_we_dissect_the_chris.html I've never minded Brandon Phillips, but now I like him even more.
