  1. I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers knew that Suppan was pitching with a tired arm and Suppan was trying to gut it out for the team, with Melvin and Yost knowing that there was a good chance that the Brewers would be getting another pitcher soon. Now that they have this pitcher, they can put him on the DL and let him rest it for a bit.
  2. JJ should go buy a lottery ticket.
  3. Bill Hall is now hitting .229. He hasn't had a batting average this high since May 2. Amazing.
  4. At this point make Suppan the long man. Keep Manny in the rotation. Whether he gives up too many walks or not, the guy is pitching lights out right now and the Brewers win when he pitches.
  5. Another link from cbssportsline.com on the possible trade: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mcc/blogs/entry/8590096/9203984
  6. That was beautiful. Wood couldn't have put it in there any fatter.
  7. I tell ya what, the best thing about this whole game is watching how excited Pujols is getting in that dugout. He's like a 10 year old kid!
  8. I agree with the Mark Rodgers comments. If they want him, let them have him.
  9. All I know is that I'm tired of hearing Ken Rosenthal's name. I'm tired of listening to all his misinformation and his guesses on what might happen. When you make 30 guesses on what is going to go down, you're bound to be right on one of them. So I'm sure once the trade is done, he'll say that he predicted it earlier in the week.
  10. I just visited Indians247. They seem to be a little dilusional on who they can get or misinformed on who is involved. They are still tossing around LaPorta, Escobar, and Jeffress for Sabathia. Someone even mentioned Mark Rodgers.
  11. That's why it's nice the Brewers have a punching bag in a room right next to the dugout.
  12. Seems like a great fit to get rid of Hall(and his salary) and get something of high value back in return.
  13. I thought of the idea of bringing a guy up from the minors, but if we get Sabathia and are serious contenders, I'd feel a whole lot better about having a guy who's proved he can hit major league pitching, than putting a guy who's never seen it before in a spot that we would need serious production. On the other hand, if you bring in Nelson, or LaPorta, they could be just like Braun last year. So ya know, whatever. In any case, I don't think there's a chance we see Gamel this year, unless it's in September to be used as a pinch hitter. Too much of a defensive liability.
  14. Who plays first if we trade Fielder now? Move Hart to first and put Kapler in as a starter?? Platoon situation with Dillion and Rivera?? I'm not saying I disagree with it, I'm just curious on what the plan would be then.
  15. Trading away LaPorta is not trading away the future. He's only one player and there are quite a few more in the farm system that are rated very high. Also, let's not forget, he's a prospect, not a major leaguer. There is no way to tell how good he'll be. I was against the Brewers going after Sabathia, but if they can get away with only trading away 1 of the AA guys, and a couple others, I'm all for it. With the rotation up in the air for next year, this may be when the Brewers need to pull the trigger and go for it. Also, all this talk about Maddux. If you can get him straight up for Tony Gwynn Jr., great. But please don't give the Padres any more than that and there would still need to be a deal done for a pitcher. Thinking that Greg Maddux could be the blockbuster trade to get you to the post-season is stupid. If you want to get him to replace Dave Bush, great. Have at it. Maddux still has flashes of greatness every now and then, but to seriously contend, we need to get a better pitcher than that for the top end of the rotation.
  16. Those are some decent numbers for JJ.
  17. A bomb by Prince here would be a nice capper to the road trip.
  18. I'll give it up to him. Pretty nice outing for Gagne so far. I say Yost should run him back out there for the 9th.
  19. Starting off with a couple of balls? Looks about right.
  20. But I would like to see some nice eye candy at the pool. Not a bunch of guys with their computers!
  21. Yeah, everywhere I looked listed him as a second year player.
