  1. Double, HR, double so far for Hardy. He should hit another HR right here!
  2. How nice is this going to be if JJ comes up with the bases loaded? I'd say Webb would then be gone.
  3. Why is it that the Brewers always seem to get handcuffed by some no-name pitcher, then go out and pound the big named ones??
  4. Awesome. I can't believe Parra got out of another one. Excellent work.
  5. He's just raking off of Brandon Webb. The guy is playing himself into the All-Star game!
  6. As we discuss this, JJ is just tearing up Brandon Webb. As for switching positions, I don't think he'll be the one that gets moved. I'm not saying this is going to happen, but of the two scenarios, I think it's easier to see the Brewers getting rid of Weeks and bringing Escobar up to play 2B, rather than move JJ.
  7. Hardy's name seems to be the one that is starting to get tossed around. I think there's a better chance of getting him, than Escobar. Escobar's glove is apparently better than JJ's and he'll be a lot cheaper once Hardy hits arbitration. Early in Hardy's career when he barely hit, I always supported Hardy and compared him to Yount and how he started his career. Since that time I backed off of that thinking and I thought Hardy would be gone by next season because he couldn't seem to turn the corner, save a hot streak now and then. But with the way he's been playing since he sat out a few games, I've gotten more optimistic about his future and that in the next couple of years, he just might be able to make the adjustments to become a .280 or .290 hitter.
  8. I just tossed this trade out there was because I thought it was a way to upgrade the Brewers at 2B and a give us another starter that would easily strengthen the Brewers rotation, without giving up too much from our farm system. I think there are plenty of ways the Brewers can upgrade the pitching staff without having to go after a guy like Sabathia and giving up too much of the future in the process.
  9. I got this from Sportsbubbler.com, just in case nobody heard it: Darin Sutton was on a local sports radio show in my area of the state. He flatly predicted that the Brewers had something going on with the Diamondbacks. that he could not go into it, but, that something was coming down the line, very very soon.
  10. I got this from Sportsbubbler.com: I just watched some espn on TV, and Peter Gammons was asked about the Trade Deadline and the Milwaukee Brewers. A few points that he made, 1. He thinks the Brewers will for sure go after 1 or 2 Starting Pitchers. 2. He isn't 100% sure that the Brewers will get Sabathia. He said that Philly could make a run after him as well. 3. He said that it is possible that the Brewers would trade Hardy or Weeks. He is hearing that from several other teams. 4. He said that the Brewers could bring up Escobar right now to replace either Hardy or Weeks. 5. He said that Scouts have said that the Huntsville team is one of the talented if not the most talanted team that they have ever seen in the Minors. 6. The Brewers have told him they will not give up two of the following - LaPorta, Gamel, Escobar, Salome, Brantley The thing that intrigues me is all of a sudden Hardy's name is being thrown in. Haven't heard his name until now.
  11. Just put in 50 for Braun, gonna keep doing it the rest of the night.
  12. Just tossing this one out there: Rickie Weeks, Tony Gwynn Jr., Zack Jackson for Brian Roberts and Jeremy Guthrie. Don't know if Baltimore would go for this with Guthrie in there, but feel free to switch Jackson for another pitcher, or even throw in another lower level pitcher to get the deal done. That would give the Crew a viable leadoff hitter that knows how to hit, we don't have a downgrade in fielding, and it gets us that other pitcher we need to get over the hump in the second half. We would also have a fighting chance to resign Guthrie, unlike with Sabathia.
  13. What's going to be sweet is that starting Friday, 17 of the next 21 Brewer games will be in HD.
  14. Once they get the new stadium finished, wait til the feeling of a new ballpark wears off. They should have a nice dip in attendance considering IT'S OUTDOORS!! The new ballpark will be an attraction, but here in Milwaukee I'm sure we all remember how "nice" it was to have an non-dome stadium in April and May. They'll probably draw worse than they do now at the Metrodome in those months.
  15. I don't think $$$ will be much of an issue with resigning Sheets. I think that Attanasio has proven that he's willing to spend money. But to sign Sheets, it'll have to be for 5 years and probably around $90-95 million. I think it comes down to whether Attanasio and Melvin think Sheets is worth the risk.
  16. 6 runs in one inning. Weeks making a spectacular play. I'm going to go buy my lottery ticket right now.
  17. What did I tell ya? Quick strike offense!! I can't believe they've tied this!! Just shows, we know nothing, and Ned Yost knows everything!
  18. You should have some slides about Bud Selig, his efforts obviously brought baseball back to Milwaukee and helped keep it here. Maybe even mention that his office in in Wisconsin, not NY or LA as many may think. One more thing: You should have a picture of State Senator George Petak in there because without him, Miller Park never happens. Then have a picture of Kim Plache(had Petak recalled after he voted for the stadium) with a red cross through it and tell the audience that if they ever see her at Miller Park, they have the right to go and yell at her an inch in front of her face until she leaves the stadium.
  19. Well at least with the line-up we have today, we have te ability to strike back for bunches of runs in the 6th!
  20. I just realize Washington only got 3 hits. 3 FRICKIIN HITS!! And they got 5 runs!!! Unreal. I remember in HS we once gave up 3 hits and lost 9-1. Obviously, the Brewers are getting to be about as good as a HS team.
  21. Another awful performance. It's tough to put this one on Yost after Hardy blew that DP chance, but then taking out Hart-very frustrating.
  22. As much as I like Hardy, I think we can find plenty of guys that in our farm system or on the market that can hit .250 and play defense just as good and not pay them as much money as Hardy will be in line to get. As for Weeks, it is a tough call, because I reallly don't know if we've seen what he can do yet. His hands are so quick and we've seen the improvement he's made with defense, hopefully he can do that with his hitting on a more consistent basis. Gallardo I think is a guy that the Brewers will try to lock up in the middle of next year after they see how he does after the injury. I don't think Yo will miss a beat since it's a ACL, not an arm issue. I have no idea what the Brewers could do with Fielder. I think they'll trade him before it even gets to a chance for a new contract. There's no point to be held hostage by Boras with the guys we have coming up. As for Corey Hart, I told my buddies last year that he's a keeper. For some reason, Hart seems to fly under the radar with the media for his skills and that's fine with me. I think he's one of the most underrated players in the league and the Brewers should try and lock him up for a long while.
