  1. I don't think there's any way he doesn't wear it. Gotta ride the wave. Bad juju if he doesn't wear it after the results of the first 2x.
  2. You have the best K pitcher in baseball when you need strikeouts with your season hanging in the balance, and Pomeranz is the answer?
  3. Whenever I'm at a game, whenever a guy is announced for the Brewers I think of how Betts would announce it. I grew up with him so I'm a bit nostalgic. How he would call Yount, Vaughn, Molitor....it was awesome. And I always remember..."please report to the fan assistance center"
  4. Everyone assumes that if a guy is offered a contract they will just come here. It takes 2 to tango. We'll never know a lot of the guys that Sterns offers contracts to and what those offers are for and if a guy just wasn't interested in coming here or not. And Sterns can't necessarily get in a bidding war with a lot of teams, they don't have the payroll resources. In addition, I think with the way the Brewers run their pitching staff, you don't need absolute studs as starters. Would it be nice? Heck yeah it would. But those guys cost money-lots n' lots of money. If the Brewers can get 3-4 guys that are reliable for 5-6 innings and then spend money on good, quality bullpen arms-which are vastly more inexpensive-I'm fine with that. Put the money in the offense with that model. With Woody, Burnes, and Peralta, all you needed was 1 guy to be good and the others to be average and this team is winning the division right now. Woody is good. Unfortunately, Burnes and Peralta weren't even average, they weren't even awful-they were god awful. Jeffress, Burnes, Peralta, not doing well this year hurt. But as many would probably agree, the injury to Knebel crushed that bullpen. You can't blame Sterns for that. "He should have had more depth." There are few bullpen arms out there like Knebel when he's going good.
  5. First off, managing a bullpen may be the toughest job an MLB manager has. We are all aware of the injuries before the season and the falloff of some guys that have crushed this team. With that said: I think the last 2 days have showed how CC is going to use this pitching staff the rest of the month as long as they are in contention. Based off of what they did last year, I think the way he uses the bullpen when he has the arms with the Sept. call ups gives the Brewers a chance to win more games(and more than other teams) than if he was still playing with a 25 man roster. I think this is an area that CC excels above a lot of other MLB managers. Next year will be interesting with the Brewers since it'll be 28 man rosters in Sept. They use they 40 man to their advantage way more than other teams.

  7. I think Saladino will be gone
  8. You would be sleeping by now, otherwise! He's a bit energetic, but I think Plesac is very good.
  9. In the 9th? I'd say.....Perez?? May be their best option.
  10. I was a Sling subscriber. I started going thru Playstation Vue and immediately cancelled Sling. I think Vue has more channels-BTN being one of them, I have the ability to go pause and go back, and I get TMJ, FOX 6, Channel 12, and 58, and only cost $10 more.
  11. Again scoring 4+ runs and a loss. The Crew have a really good record when scoring 4+ runs, and even better when scoring 5+ runs as I'm sure most teams do. Unfortunately they should be even better than what they are. Scored 6 tonight and still lost. I've been on the buy buy buy opinion until tonight. Might be time to sell kiddies. They just don't have it. Nothing short of winning the next 4 will change my mind.
  12. I think it's too soon to strip Trout of that title. We have our own mini Trout in Yelich. Or the Angels have their own mini Yelich in Trout:)
  13. Shaw has a history of not hitting well when he's not an everyday player. The Brewers know this. Bringing him up to be bench guy or a platoon player isn't going to work based off his past history. I can see them trading Moose because they can get a good return on perhaps a bullpen arm and putting Shaw back at 3B.
  14. Definitely a rough patch, no doubt. Does the team seem like they can compete IF or when they make the playoffs? No. But baseball is funny that way. The fact is they are only 1.5 out of 1st in the division, and still in the 2nd WC spot. Sterns is not going to sell. If you get into the playoffs ANYTHING can happen. Happens all the time. With that said, I think Sterns needs to go get 2 quality bullpen arms and it could do wonders for this team. Don't continue to solve this in-house or pick up a few guys off the scrap heap and hope for lightning in a bottle. Calling up the likes of Wilkerson and Jackson is not going to do it. If Sterns isn't willing to give up guys and go get guys that are good enough to pitch meaningful innings, then yes, he should sell and plan for next year.
  15. I don't think there's any chance of Kimbrel coming. He wants a multi-year deal. I'm betting lots of teams have kicked the tires on him for just a 1 year deal and he's bent on getting the big, multi year deal. If he can get it, good for him. But I don't think it's going to happen, at least not this year. If he hasn't signed yet for just this year, I don't see it.
  16. I don't think it'll be Gio. One of the reasons he picked to sign with the Brewers over the Mets is that the Brewers said he would be a starter. I don't see them going back on their word after only 1-2 starts.
  17. Albies signed the contract. Many players leave this stuff up to their agents. If you blame anyone, blame the agent. There are no incentives, award bonuses, trade clauses, etc., and his agent did a lousy job. With that said, the higher these contracts are the higher everything in the ballparks go $$$ wise. I'm all for the lower the better on contracts. These guys already make an obscene amount of money that most of them aren't worth.
  18. Does CC take Miley out after one batter and bring in Chacin and Miley pitches tomorrow??? Hmmmm....(this is where I think of Dr. Evil putting his pinky finger to his mouth)
  19. My buddy said both seats to his left were empty for both games. WTH?! Give the tix to somebody who will go!!
