  1. They were talking about it on the radio today and the pitcher said it was rosen. Ump told him rosen is not allowed on the glove. Uecker said he had no idea that was a rule. I've never thought of it, but that's a stupid rule.
  2. I was only 9 years old in '87 so don't remember it all that much, but it sucks that's how Cooper went out. I do still remember Betts calling out Cooper's name on the PA at County Stadium. Selig definitely was a penny-pincher, but without his passion for baseball in Milwaukee, we wouldn't have a team right now. He got a team back here, but without his efforts-and I don't know if anyone else would have been able to do it because he wanted to keep baseball in Milwaukee so bad-this team would have been gone in the 90's. It's too bad his short-changing of guys like Cooper and Molitor to name a few are a huge part of what define his ownership legacy.

  5. I love Braun in spite of his past issues. Fact of the matter is though is that he can't stay healthy. IF there is a DH next year, that is the only chance of him coming back to Milwaukee and it'll have to be a very discounted price. He's just not available to play enough to justify giving him a lot of money. In addition, he has no spot unless he can play 1B and I think they already decided that's not gonna happen, otherwise he would have played there this year. If they can sign him for $2-3 million, great. But with what the economics of what baseball is gonna be next year with all the losses this year, I don't even know if that's feasible.
  6. Yeli, Cain, Garcia are the 3 main starters. I'm thinking Taylor is the 4th OF. I don't think Gamel is back.
  7. If the Crew pulls off the upset, I don't think Burnes would be back the next series either. Those oblique injuries are tricky. I wonder if there are any prop bets on how many hits the Brewers will get the first 2 games. O/U 4.5? With all that said, I can see the Brewers winning 10-0 tonight cuz, well, it's 2020 and all.
  8. Is it really considered breaking n entering if the door was unlocked?(I say that sarcastically) And why would they leave the key in the tractor???
  9. It's an ugly lineup, plain and simple. Even with Hiura struggling, he should still be in there. Any lineup that includes Peterson and Sogard at all is not a team I wanna watch. Toss in Taylor and this should be a W for Cincy. BUT, because of this trash lineup I'll be tuning in and expecting a 10-0 Brewer win!
  10. Seems like MLB is stalling on implementing the 50 game season, so the Union has less of a leg to stand on when they file their grievance. This is exactly what I read on Twitter from a writer. MLB is going to stall long enough to where the MLBPA can't greive the amount of games that are being proposed. And even then, how many players are going to play? This whole thing sucks. This shows that this was all about the owners saving money and cutting everything down to 1/3 this season to save money. Will the players strike next year to gain some leverage for the upcoming CBA negotiations? We aren't going to see meaningful baseball till like 2023.
  11. Travesty for the sport. This really screws kids that would be trying to get drafted this year. It'll strengthen college programs in the short term-if there are any. But this also really gives an advantage to the larger market teams. They can sign as many as they'd like. Now there may be some guys that see a team already has a bunch of OF so why sign with them for example, but overall the large market teams will be able to bring in more guys. I also heard on the radio that 4th and 5th round guys will be pressured to sign for less than the slot money allocated or they'll be told to go and take the $20,000 instead or go to college(again, will there be programs?)
  12. Be careful of that John Hopkins map. I read tonight that it's malware.
  13. He really has no reason to care. He's out of a job on Monday anyway. I liked Maddon when he was in Tampa but since then, I've really grown to dislike him the more I've watched him.
  14. Burnes has more innings pitched this year than last year and has an ERA of 10 and some folks would consider him for a potential playoff roster. Ummmm, what????? The only people considering him for a playoff roster spot are Nationals and Dodgers fans. If the Brewers put him on the roster for playoffs(if they make it) there would be an outcry to remove Sterns, CC, and a good chance we'd need a new stadium cuz Miller Park would be burned to the ground. Even his most loyal supporters can't rationalize him being on a playoff roster. But that's just my humble opinion.
  15. Not even a question. 5 game series. Brewers stand a way better chance in that scenario than a 7 gamer.
  16. Awesome, that is my dream, I've never done that either...Have fun! Got to do it once on Fathers Day 5 years ago. Brewers lost to the Reds, but didn't care. The food was great. Burgers were huge. It was great having our own bathroom and not having to pay for beer and food. They had tube TV's above the seats, but our's didn't work. But again, did not care. Would love to do it again.
  17. So we win tonight and being optimistic that we sweep, time to root for the *gulp*-Cubs.
  18. Tonight is like cheering for your left arm or right leg to catch on fire, but I guess I'm gonna be cheering for the Cards to win tonight and tomorrow, hoping the Brewers get another W tomorrow night. Get some distance from the Cubs. If we can get up a few games on them and be ahead, then we can start cheering against the Cards as as we look for the division in the final 5-6 games.
  19. I'll choose not to cheer for the Nats or Cards. Just see what happens and take it from there. If I HAD to choose, I'd go with cheering for the Nats. The Nationals have a pretty tough schedule the rest of the way and in theory are gonna get some losses.
  20. Talk about irony. Yeli carried them this far and won't get to participate in all the post season fun. Woody, a star in the bullpen late last season, turned great starter-will likely go back to that roll again this year.
