  1. Well, unless he's needed tonight, Guerra is starting tomorrow. Not the news anyone wants to hear at this point.
  2. Go with a 4 man rotation. Anything to keep Garza and Guerra off the mound.
  3. No way. We all have beefs with some of the decisions CC makes, but what fans don't about their teams' manager? CC is doing this with a roster that seems to make a roster move daily trying to figure out who is actually going to be a part of this future. The over/under seemed to be about 75 wins at the beginning of the year so even coming within a couple games of that he's fine. There may start to be whispers by the middle of next year, but I think CC has thru 2019.
  4. Based off of how the starting pitching is shaking out, do they really need to go get another starter? If Davies has in fact found "it" again, a rotation of Nelson, Anderson, Davies, Garza, and Suter isn't too bad. Pretty solid. Then they have Guerra(yuck) or Woodruff waiting if something happens. I don't think there are any starters out there that are difference makers or at least worth what the the Brewers would be giving up. I say get another bullpen arm and shorten the game up.
  5. Guerra will the one to go IMO, but then again-Wily Peralta is still on this roster, so who knows what they'll do when it gets to be decision time.
  6. Nightengale tweeted that the A's insist on Brinson if the Brewers want Gray. The Brewers have said no. Talks have stalled.
  7. I agree. I don't think there's any move that happens with the pitching staff. There's no reason to.
  8. Thanks for the input. I was just curious. I guess it's more common than I thought. With that said, I don't know if anyone else besides Shaw deserved to go. But it's just a solid line up from top to bottom. I'll take having a first place team with a bunch of solid starters rather than 3+ All Stars and a 4th place team any day.
  9. I'm hoping they don't go for a starter. You have to give up too much to get starters mid-season, and that's just for a rental. Getting a guy for multiple years will cost even more. I think any deal that happens will include Ray, and in the end he should be the highest prospect they include. Brinson, Phillips should not be touched. With that said, I know prospects are just that: prospects(Matt LaPorta/Mat Gamel). I think they need to get a bullpen arm that will shorten up the game for the starters. Don't upset team chemistry and not give up the future.
  10. Maybe it's more common than I'm thinking, but when was the last time a 1st place team only had 1 All Star? With the Brewers this year, I understand that Shaw had furious competition at 3B which is why he didn't make it. This line up is not spectacular, but it's solid top to bottom which is why they are doing well. But in the grand scheme of things, it is a bit surprising that a 1st place doesn't get more than one and still does as well as they are doing.
  11. CC announced in his pregame presser that Peralta is going to the bullpen immediately.

  13. Home Opener on Monday, April 3rd against the Rockies.........again http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2016/09/14/brewers-open-2017-home-vs-rockies/90352256/
  14. Stripling's dad sought out Roberts the next morning and thanked him for pulling his kid out of the game and protecting his future.
  15. Sounds like Garza will be out 4-6 weeks so......
  16. Record: 73-89 MVP: Braun HR's: Santana 28 Wins: Nelson 16 Bold Prediction: Peralta traded at deadline
  17. In 2008, they won first game I went to and then lost the next 10 that I went to. I stopped going by the end of July so they would make the playoffs. What are the flippin' odds of going to 10 straight losses when their home recored was 49-32???
  18. From comments that Uecker has made, it sounds like the voice thing has been an issue for at least 3+ weeks now. I was surprised that he made the trip to Washington. On Friday when I was listening it almost sounded like he was over-compensating and speaking lounder on a lot of stuff just to try and get something into his calls. He sounded like he was getting excited on calls that had no reason to get excited for. Sounded pretty bad. It just didn't sound like Uecker being himself.
  19. 2002? I don't think you truly appreciate how bad that team really was. Glendon Rusch and Ruben Quevedo as the #2 and #3 starters, respectively. That says it all right there. It's gonna be a few years before they are competing for a playoff spot. But I'm excited to see things change the next couple of years and to watch some of the new Crew come up. 2003-2005 weren't great years, but they were a pretty exciting bunch of kids learning how to play and it was fun watching them. In 2002 I was just finishing college with no job yet, so all I had was time to party, drink beer, and watch the Brewers. I stopped watching the Brewers. It was just that awful to watch.
  20. A lot of his supporters say what he did off the field shouldn't matter for the HOF, it should be what he did on the field that counts. They also say he never bet on his own team. Or that he never did it while he was a player. So I'm real interested in what the supporters will now come up with to say he still deserves to be in the HOF. IMO, we live in a very forgiving society. Had he come out and said back in 1989 he did it and apologized, took his punishment, I bet he'd be on the cusp of having all the support he needed to get in (I don't think Selig was ever going to let him in). The fact that he continually lied about it and continues to get caught in more lies only shows that he has no remorse for what he did. Don't let him in.
  21. I think they have to look at who do they trust more to pan out in future years: Scooter or Segura. One of them can go. With Acacia seemingly knocking on the door, he's going to be the SS. Either Segura will be moved to 2b and Scooter traded, or Segura traded with Scooter holding down 2b.
  22. RR said he liked what he saw yesterday out of Parra and Schafer. He said Braun will be back in the lineup tomorrow. So basically he's benching him for poor performance. Maybe this will spark Braun.
  23. RR said he liked what he saw yesterday out of Parra and Schafer. So basically he's saying that he feels those guys give the team a better chance to win right now than Braun. Parra. And Schafer. Schafer. Let that sink in for a bit. Yikes. This team is messed up. With that said, I'm all for whatever will get this team into the W column, so Parra and Schafer it is!
