  1. On the bright side, at 21 pitches an inning, he should last four today — five tops.
  2. I can see what your saying, but I think between his spot coming up first, it being early in the season and his injury problems last year are good enough reasons for it being the right move in this game.
  3. Is there a more cliche storyline that Cubs-Brewers at Wriggly?
  4. I want to let Corey back into my heart, but I fear he will just hurt me again.
  5. I know why Kendall is playing so well. He and his ex-wife did shared custody in the divorce. She got the kids, he got the kids' Adderall.
  6. Can Brewersfan workout a group discount on antidepressants? This board is going to need to be heavily medicated this year.
  7. Zaun will be fine. The last five seasons he's a .750 OPS guy with an average of 8 GDPs per season. He's in a slump. It happens.
  8. I think that's a little pessimistic in terms of value. If you look what the Rangers got for Teixera that was an incredible haul. If the Brewers traded him this July, a team would be getting a 40 HR 1.000 OPS guy at a relatively cheap price. When you look at who the Rays are starting at DH, I could definitely see them trading a couple of their prospects (not as much as the Braves gave up) but still get a decent return. If they are in playoff contention adding a guy like that to the middle of their lineup would give them a real shot of doing damage during a two year window where many of the guys they will lose are still under control.
  9. Sigh. Hopefully the Brewers can come close to what the Rangers got for Mark Teixeira in his first trade. I doubt they would get an entire haul that awesome because of Prince's long term defensive liabilities.
  10. EVERYBODY PANIC! http://may-flowers.com/files/robot_attack.jpg
  11. I'm not going to overreact. I still can't believe Stavinoha hit that HR out, but I'm not ready to stick a fork in Trevor. But if things continue the downward trend, the Brewers need to react quickly. I would hate to see the Brewers fix the SP and front end bullpen problems and have the closer screw up the season. Man, it just seems they can't get a pitching staff together. One year its middle relief, next year is closer, the next year its the starters ...
  12. It took me all inning to find this after watching Molina loaf around first. I will never see him in Miller Park and not think how he is just the epitome of classy Cardinals baseball. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=2689415
  13. In the end that's pretty tame, considering he was just angry at himself. I can't ever blame a guy for doing that because if I was an MLB player I would do a lot worse.
  14. Now the Cardinals annoucers are complaining about Weeks reaction to the HBP. Why would he be upset? Well, first, it probably hurts. Second, it prevents him from getting, you know, a game tying HR.
  15. Are you certified with a Missouri approved level of class to watch that broadcast?Man do I hope the Brewers win for many reasons, but a big one is to hear them whine about the Brewers untucking their jerseys. They already cried about it during the broadcast. The most irritating part is that it's Al Hrabosky, who does the complaining about it most, was nicknamed the Mad Hungarian for his antics on the mound. He said this to SI:
  16. TH just mentioned on Homer's show that Gamel took a bullet of his shin in this game. Said he stayed in AND made some nice plays. Wasn't sure if the liner was related to him leaving early.
  17. The media's job is to try to make a story where there isn't one most of the time so I'm not surprised at all they speculated. That's idiotic hyperbole, and an insult to many hardworking men and women in the profession.
  18. I'm sure that we are going to get the statistical evidence that this still doesn't make the Brewers a playoff contender soon, but on the bright side this has at least freaked out "The best fans in baseball." They feel about lefty pitchers the way we feel about guys making their MLB debut.
  19. Per McCalvy tweet: http://twitter.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/8000671885 More info from McCalvy: Davis deal: $4.25 mm base salary for '10 and $6.5 mm mutual option for '11 with $1 mm buyout. $1 mm in incentives available each season. http://twitter.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/8000825528 UPDATE: More from TH's Blog. More from McCalvy.
  20. Per McCalvy, Angel will not be joining Kameron in Milwaukee or Nashville. Picture included at the bottom of the story.
