  1. I'm guessing your best chance at getting that info will be following him via twitter, etc. I'm fairly confident the JS won't replace him.
  2. Glennron: I don't know about the Millenium, but I'm guessing yes. I'm sure a call to their front desk would clear up the issue. On most weekdays it would not be difficult to get tickets for less than face in the bleachers and terrace reserved. But since it's one of the last series of the season and the Cards figure to be in contention up until the final games, you will have a harder time. If you hedge your bets and buy your tickets online before the series, I would advise you sign up for updates from http://ktowntickets.com/. They send out discount codes for sites like TicketsNow and StubHub (when they find some that work). It makes buying tickets there a much better deal. There's also this: http://mlb.mlb.com/stl/ticketing/first_pitch.jsp The Cards give out 550 tickets the morning of each game for $5.50 each. It's a grab bag of tickets - you get a voucher with your name on it that you turn in 15 minutes before the game and you are handed an envelope with tickets that could be anything from standing room only to right behind the dugout. Usually it's no problem to get a ticket this way; You can show up right at 9 a.m. and get a voucher.
  3. Wow, over the weekend I had a similar dream about Prince being dealt for a bunch of guys in a Richie Sexson-esque trade. Also, someone gave my dog away in that dream, which I guess can officially be described as a nightmare.
  4. Nope, but that should have been the Brewers tacking onto their lead or getting the lead back. Instead they are still down by one because Suppan bled out on the mound. And the worst part is, he's been bandaged up and back on the mound. Shocker, another walk.
  5. Just reported on Homer's show on 540. Will add link when I see confirmation elsewhere. EDIT: I haven't seen it elsewhere, but Macha made the announcement in his pregame presser. He said, "Our people believe he gives us the best chance to win." EDIT, Part 2: TH's blog on the matter
  6. I check the score after letting my puppy out 7-5. I get back to the office: 7-7. Now I'm about to leave for what's sure to be a very Suppan-y meeting. Hopefully that will turn the tide again.
  7. Hopes for Today= Officially Dashed. I'm going to go let my puppy out so she can take a Suppan. Hopefully things will turned around by the time I get back to the office.
  8. Now the media here is reporting they optioned Duncan to their AAA team. Maybe that's TLR's mea culpa to the fans.
  9. Damn. I knew Doumit would hurt us when I found out he would be back for this series.
  10. Yeah, that's true. The JSonline blog suffers from a bunch of guys fruitlessly trying to be funny, but that stltoday.com forum is full of certified nutballs.
  11. I know you all might find this hard to believe, but the "best fans in baseball" are not happy with TLR.
  12. ESPN Radio Extra Points. You don't meet many female blowhards, but Chris McKendry - you're like the four-leaf clover of self-righteous morons. She needs to be shot out of a cannon.
  13. Still a fan of this lineup. Let's hope the Brewers finally hit rock bottom last night and today is the dawn of a new winning streak.
  14. Someone who has a chance of starting and making an impact on the club this year or next (or a very low level prospect with some crazy combination of raw tools). As been said before in this thread, Cole doesn't even have the arm to play the outfield. He's also not hitting in AAA this year. He's 25. The Diamondbacks apparently consider him no better than a four of fifth OF. If it looks like a second-tier prospect and quacks like a second tier prospect...
  15. I think you're splitting hairs. They may not have been "hand-wringing" but there was plenty of kvetching. To me, it still is a bit stunning how upset some people were/are about this trade. People said that Lopez flat out sucked. To me it's been pretty clear since he was with the Cardinals that's not the case. It's not like we traded a top prospect to get him. If he keeps doing what he's doing we will get Type B compensation for him. There are not many 2B who can leadoff and have an 800ish OPS. At worst we will get a switch-hitting superutility guy for next year. For what? Two middling prospects. I really don't see the problem here.
  16. Worst part of slumpy Braun: When he tries too hard to break out of said slump.
  17. I'm an on the record supporter of the trade, but the reason people were against was what happened after his first hit. The guys has some known focus issues, but he can also flat out hit.
