  1. To be fair, McCarthy is a pretty good young pitcher. I could see the Brewers struggling against him, and he doesn't even have electric stuff like Robinson Tejeda does. Only Kevin Mench and Grafft have ever faced McCarthy before...Mench is something like 1-7 and Graffy is 2-5 with an OPS of 1.000 IIRC. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  2. I demand a win for my birthday. I'll probably miss most of this game, but hopefully Benny doesn't fall victim to the Rangers' righty-mashing lineup.
  3. I, like many others, don't find Paris Hilton to be attractive at all. The extreme thinness (almost sickly), the Ann Carroll nose, the speculated drug habit, and every STD under the sun just doesn't do it for me. Sorry. As for this actual case, it's more bizarre than anything else. The past two days saw a huge drop in the stock market, the launch of a space shuttle, and a computer glitch that shut down air travel everywhere along the East coast, and this was the story on all of the news networks all day today. Following the line of cars from the courthouse to the correctional facility by helicopter was just absurd. She's getting what she deserves, though. Despite what a few of the pundits on Fox News were saying today, she's not getting 45 days in jail for driving with a suspended license. She's getting 45 days for blatantly violating her probation twice after a DUI and completely disregarding the authority of the legal system. Ann Coulter actually proposed that they fine her $50,000 instead of sending her to jail, which is absurd -- this is a multi-billion dollar heiress we're talking about. 50 grand is a drop in the bucket for her. She's like a spoiled little kid -- you punish spoiled little kids by taking away what is most important to them. To Paris, her autonomy is what is most important to her...maybe by taking away her freedom for a month, she'll get the point. Not likely, but the odds are better than if you just make her daddy cut a check.
  4. I was away at college for the first part of the season and had to watch the games on MLB.TV...as a result, I didn't experience the horrid sight of Ann Carroll until a few weeks ago when I got home. My God, what is wrong with that woman's face!?
  5. Gagne's stuff is just as wicked as it's ever been...wow. 16 hits is just insane, considering most of them were off the end of the bat bleeders that were just bad luck for the Brewers. I'm somewhat encouraged by what the offense was able to do in the 7th, but mistakes in the first two and last two innings killed them in the end.
  6. We're pounding the ball all over the place, and they've scored 8 runs on dinks, dunks, bloopers, and tricklers. Just one of those games. It's more frustrating than if the Brewers were getting pounded with HR power.
  7. Tall order to get 3 against Gagne, even if he isn't the same guy that closed 80 straight games. Gotta get the leadoff man on to start the 9th.
  8. Damn. Guess Villy couldn't be Superman forever.
  9. Ah well. Get Gagne in the 9th. Hall-Counsell-Hart, right?
  10. So that's what an effective LOOGY looks like. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  11. We suddenly have a ballgame. Hopefully Robinson Tejeda starts to remember that he's Robinson Tejeda.
  12. Well at least they manufactured a run. I would've preferred if they didn't use up 2 outs doing it, but I'm too frustrated to nitpick.
  13. Alright...leadoff double for Jenks. Hopefully they at least get Jenkins across this inning.
  14. How much good would a managing change mid-season do for such a young team, though? Who could the Brewers get that would do much better? As much as this team needs a shot in the arm, I'm afraid firing Yost mid-season would be like giving up on the season. They'd most likely name Sveum the interim manager and the Brewers would be even worse off.
  15. Of course Capellan's going to stay in after getting hit by a line drive. He can't possibly pitch any worse.
  16. Estrada just makes me feel like pounding on my keyboard in frustration. That wasn't even a good pitch that he was swinging at.
  17. That's what I heard, I just wasn't sure if they'd skip Vargas this time or next. I'd love to see Bush do well, but one has to admit that the odds for him pitching well in this park aren't too good.
  18. Watching Capellan pitch is incredibly frustrating. I can't even find the words to describe it better. Just frustrating.
  19. I figure they're saving Villanueva as the "second starter" for the Bush/Vargas start to end this series.
  20. J.J. doesn't make me Hardy very much lately. Too much uppercut to his swing.
  21. I knew this was going to be ugly as many times as they were uttering the phrases "worst record in baseball" and "worst starter ERA in baseball" during the pregame show.
  22. Well that inning kind of makes up for Cappy throwing 12,000 pitches in the first two innings.
  23. How many more times tonight do you think Bill is going to say "Tejada" instead of "Tejeda" despite Anderson saying it correctly right next to him?
