  1. If the playoff expands beyond 4 teams, it’s going to be awfully difficult to schedule games on weekends in early January while trying to avoid the same time slots as the NFL playoffs
  2. Bucks will most likely be 25-3 and riding a 19-game win streak entering their game on Dec. 19 against LAL.
  3. The NBA is as exciting as it’s been in years, certainly more entertaining than the NFL. Why bother posting in here if you don’t follow it? Just craving attention or what? I follow from afar for the Bucks is about it. I seriously wonder why it has such a strong following. The top teams will win just about every night and will meet up in the finals. What suspense is there with the league? It's not at all competitive for the most part. More often than not, this just hasn’t been true over the past decade.
  4. Cubs at Brewers to play on Sunday Night Baseball at Miller Park on 3/29: https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-releases/2019/11/espn-to-exclusively-televise-2020-mlb-opening-night-los-angeles-angels-at-houston-astros-on-march-26/
  5. The tweaked BiG just really looks weird to me - not sure why they needed to change it? And the font on the Navy Blues is really, really ugly. Love the home and road greys.
  6. Goodell has quite the track record of screwing up player discipline/suspensions, but we shall see.
  7. They’ll give Garrett a 6 game suspension, he’ll appeal it down to 4 and then people will outraged (rightfully) that the length of the suspension is equivalent to a drug violation.
  8. I was at NLCS Game 2 last year. I felt progressively more nervous as the game went on and the Brewers went up 1-0, 2-0, 3-0. I just felt these nervous butterflies in my stomach, knowing that if they took a 2-0 series lead, they were heavy favorites to win. I was sitting in the Club, between home and first, so I had a great view of Turner’s towering 8th inning home run. What an absolute gut punch. I think I immediately made a beeline for the Club level bar.
  9. When you strike out half your batters and give up 15 home runs in 75 innings you're the definition of feast or famine. He is Russell Branyan as a pitcher. Seemed like his success from outing to outing was contingent upon whether he could successfully throw his slider. Did he throw one in the 8th? How many of you felt your heart drop when his very first pitch was so wild. I’m not ready to say he’s Turnbow 2, but Hader is on notice next season. The wildness, the feast or famine outings, the proclivity to cough up homers ... it’s troubling.
  10. Can we trade you to bleedcubbieblue.com and never see you again? Bud, any guy in this forum would’ve stopped that ball. Hader would have just coughed up another run on the next batter
  11. Lol at you blaming Hader like Grisham isn’t the worst person alive right now What? He screwed up too. Hader blew the game Saturday too. He was wild all inning. Did he throw a slider once?
  12. I can’t get the screenshot posted here for some reason, but the Brewers charter plane has a registered flight plan from Dulles to LAX tomorrow afternoon — nothing to MKE yet.
  13. Those are Eastern times, right? Edit: As I see it, Thursday is 7:37 Central and Friday is 8:47. Dodgers would play the Nats Thursday at 7:37. If they play the Brewers, it’s an hour later.
  14. If the Brewers win Tuesday, Game 1 will be at 8:37 pm Thursday and Game 2 will be 8:47 pm Friday.
  15. Wild Card games will be at night. A tiebreaker Monday will be during the day since ESPN has the rights to those games and obviously they have Monday Night Football, as well
  16. It's like a dozen other rule changes in the past few years. What's a catch, the roughing the passer rule, the tuck rules. Teams and coaches will get a better feel for it and figure it out. Maybe they'll have to change the wording to say it has to be egregious. But Goodell just saying, "yeah, it was a bad call," and then firing good refs who blew a call would have solved absolutely nothing. Disagree. Other rule changes haven’t expanded the role of replay. It’s a problem under 2 minutes - it’s a completely subjective decision whether a replay official should instruct the ref to review a potential PI call (at that point, the ref has to make another subjective on the potential penalty itself.) I referenced Goodell and the officials involved because it took the commissioner 10 days to acknowledge any error. He and the league were roasted in the media during the Super Bowl leadup and it led to the Competition Committee making an emotionally-driven rule change that will be rife with unintended consequences that will impact outcomes of games.
  17. As early as 2017, some posters here speculated that the Cubs cashed in their chips too early and were headed for a quicker than expected decline. Cubs fans on Twitter and other boards caught wind of those posts and mocked those posters. Well, here we are. Next year will be very interesting. As for this weekend, I have a feeling the Cubs win twice.
  18. That final pass was a perfect illustration of why the reviewable PI was an inane rule change. It would have been defensible if PI were called on the Eagles. Why didn’t the booth initiate a review? I think the Packers have a legitimate gripe. It’s such a subjective call — who or what level of contact determines if a review is conducted? Especially on the goal line in a 7 point game? The coaches and executives that comprise the Competition Committee are just so short-sighted. They’d be better off if that dummy Goodell had just owned up to the error in the Saints game immediately and canned the referee and official response for the missed call. Instead, they’ve just created mess after mess as a result of the rule change.
  19. Just ridiculously long lines at the gates today
  20. Hey, guys ... we are going to the playoffs
