  1. Don't like the fact that there is not a base runner graphic in the FSN info box. Soup really only made 1 bad pitch in that inning. A fairly unlucky 3 runs.
  2. Without spreading too many negative vibes, and without regard for the potential for rain today, I've hated this schedule to start the season since it was released. Now that it's time to go, it'll be a definite letdown if there is no Brewers baseball today. Also having no formal weather training, i'm agreeing with Fondy's forcast.
  3. I know a guy who drives a truck pulling an HD prodcution trailer for ESPN. That thing is pretty much on the move constantly. The quietest time for him is actually during football season when it is dedicated to at most two games, but usually only one, per week. The engineer who designed and built that trailer pretty much has full job security as he is really the only one who knows it inside and out, and is the only one who can quickly fix most problems that arise. He is usually where the truck is almost the entire year.
  4. It's not just cameras, it's also production trucks. There isn't just a 'store' where you can go and buy these things. Each one is virtualy a custom built rig that costs over $1M. The logisitics of scheduling, moving and also crewing the thing are pretty expensive as well. It's all economics.
  5. Because no Brewer-related topic is too obscure for this board: http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/42028357.html
  6. For guys who don't get to play as much growing up as a lot of others, simply due to the weather the level of play in the WIAC (which is mostly WI/IL/MN kids) is very good. I've watched Zimmerman's minors career fairly closely and when he went up to AA last year and made an immediate impression I thought he might have a shot at the roster in DC this spring. Good for him. And, yes, he's from Auburndale HS whcih was also attended by the Packers' Mark Tauscher. Rich Seubert of the NY Giants (he and Tausch were on opposing O-lines in last year's NFC title game), though not from Auburndale, grew up about ten miles from Auburndale as well.
  7. I'll echo the sentiment that Hardy, along with Braun and Gallardo, is one of the three guys I'd build the team around if I were the GM. I didn't take the comments are JJ necessarily wanting to leave Milwaukee, just that if they had another SS in mind (Escobar) that would mean the Brewers would move JJ. frarnkly, if teh Brewwers beleive in Escobar over Hardy in teh long run at SS, then they should move JJ. I just wouldn't make that move with the evidence at hand.
  8. I'll see your 87 and raise you 1. 88 wins. Someone other than Cubs wins the NL Central. If that someone is not the Brewers, no playoffs.
  9. I don't have the MLB TV package, but I'm wondering just how bad the rest of baseball is that tis Brewers club made the playoffs. It's hard to swallow, but when you look at things through the prism of the AL East, maybe Hank Steinbrenner was kind of right. Not so much about the Dodgers, or in terms of his whining about the division structure, but speaking generally about the quality of players and teams.
  10. If you changed unis on Suppan and Blanton, I think the results would still be roughly the same. Brewers couldn't hit the couple of mistakes Suppan made anyway, and Blanton's stuff is not much different than Suppan's.
  11. THing I don't understand is that his soft stuff was working. Then they try to bust him up and in with a "fastball"? That's just asking for him to miss low and over the middle. GUess what happened? Completely off topic, if I see any male walking around with a Sprint Instinct phone, I'm going to stright-out ask if he still has his testicles.
  12. You're in the other 15%, razor. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. If things go well, the park will be much louder today. KInd of a ho-hum article but this part is exactly right: So, the ledge they walk got a little narrower and the stakes for the next game got a lot higher. The Phillies still need to merely win one of the final two games, while the Brewers need to take both, but only one game will be played Sunday, and it will match Blanton against Jeff Suppan. If you have a solid idea about how that will turn out, that makes you the only one.
  14. Is it fair to say that the description "nervous, but cautiously optimistic" applies to about 85% of Brewer fans right now? I'll take a win any way they can get it, but another early lead would be much appreciated. Then, if they can add on more than once, that would be great.
  15. He can't pitch the 9th tomorrow. Let's go Badgers.
  16. Two strikes is Torres worst enemy it seems.
  17. Add on again, boys. Helps the game, and maybe gets the bats finally loosened up again.
  18. Myabe he tripped on his own pantleg.
  19. Burnitz. Sexson. Lee. Not a one of them came up through teh farm system, DA. Don't woryy, the NBA is almost here.
  20. They look like 1890s ball players. Casey At the Bat caricatures.
  21. I've been here way too long. First time through I read that last word as rluz.
