  1. I hope you cut him off for having a few too many shots with his customers.
  2. Why would Braun take a front office role and cost himself several million dollars? I don't expect he will. It would be awesome if he could self reflect and say I'm overpaid and I'm going to hang it up. Not likely but would help jumpstart the rebuild. He could also self reflect and realize how underpaid he was the first several years of his career.

  4. Are umps good at anything baseball related?
  5. The Orioles are at the beginning of a long rebuild. It makes sense for them to take lottery tickets that could turn into starters over prospects who are close to the majors but very likely to end up bench players or middle relievers.
  6. I heard a rumor that it's not his.
  7. I don't think the Dodgers would go back to that well after watching him struggle so badly defensively in the playoffs. And the rest of the team is so strong they probably feel they can get away with a bad hitting catcher as long as he doesn't screw up defensively. Teams I'd be looking at. If the Rangers stay in contention and decide to buy catcher is one place they could really use an upgrade. They've been a special blend of bad defensively and absolutely horrific offensively. The Nationals aren't getting much from their catchers. Neither are the A's. Rays with Zunino and d'Arnaud aren't doing much offensively. Those would be the four teams I'm looking at. Might have to pay some money for the Rays to bite but those are contenders or at least close to it that could use upgrades at catcher.
  8. Yeah! If anyone is going to overwork these pitchers it's going to be the college coaches!
  9. I very much doubt that gets it done. A likely reliever, a guy with a starter's arsenal that bombed so bad that he had to move back to the bullpen and then back and forth between the bullpen and the minors and then a SS that's going to be entering arbitration that's maybe like a 2 WAR guy. Adding another smaller piece on to that doesn't do much.
  10. Oh please. He plays a third of the team's games and we have some quality bullpen pieces currently and another coming back next year. Trading Hader wouldn't be the end of the franchise. if some team overpays it might vault us into a new or longer window of contention.
  11. The All-Star game sucks but all of them suck. The NBA is just a dunk fest, the NHL is a glorified OT with less than no effort on defense and the Pro Bowl is the worst of them all.
  12. Reading complaints about posters is just thrilling though. Step 1: Click Private Msg Step 2: Select Friends & Foes at the bottom of Options on the left side Step 3: Go to Manage Foes on the left side Step 4: Add users to your Foe list Step 5: Click Submit Step 6: Steal underpants
  13. This split screen/behind the batter view is hot garbage.
  14. Yeah he did. http://freegifmaker.me/video/1562631392306098.gif
  15. My problem is Lucroy gave him the lane to slide to the outside. That's exactly what a catcher is supposed to do, give him a lane. At no point did Lucroy move towards the lane that was given to Marisnick from the start. To top it off that makes me believe it was 100% intentional is that Marisnick knew he was out. The ball gets to Lucroy when Marisnick is still a good 8-10 feet from home plate and he knows that if Lucroy catches it clean, he's out so he shifts his position towards Lucroy to collide with him and separate him from the ball.
  16. You are blind. Lucroy is moving away from the plate which gives Marisnick that much more of a clear path than he already had and instead of taking it he decides to change his path and truck Lucroy. It's a completely dirty play. http://freegifmaker.me/video/15626065131942086.gif
  17. You can't take out a 10 game stretch. Every player would look a lot better if you took out their worst 10 game stretch. And if you want to break it up like that you can say he's been bad two out of the three months this year. March/April: .196/.250/.381 May: .363/.427/.588 June/July: .275/.302/.422
  18. They offended me by scoring that second goal. They only needed one!
  19. I guess it may be semantics to decide on the definition of 'productive MLB player,' but he's been above replacement level every year (yes, including 2018) other than his partial first-year of 2016. When you perform better throughout almost your entire career than the guys you can plug in at the position each offseason, I DO think that's a productive MLB player.... Above replacement level is a pretty low bar to set and he was -0.4 last year so he wasn't above replacement level either. He's at 0.9 WAR in 1,450 plate appearances in his career which isn't that much better than replacement level.
