  1. This doesn't contradict anything. He's saying the people he's talked to see the Dodgers (Seager injury) and Brewers (Arcia's offensive ineptness) as the best fits. He doesn't say the Brewers are offering enough to stay in the race.
  2. I think you're being overly dramatic in how many quality prospects are on that list.
  3. And skimming bonuses of Latin American players.
  4. Better question. Hit and run with Kratz at 1st and Billy Hamilton at the plate. Hamilton slaps a ball down the line. Where on the bases does Hamilton catch Kratz?
  5. I've never understood this. Even if a pitcher is wild shouldn't a strike still be a strike no matter what the other pitches have been before that one?? It's not an excuse but it happens a lot and I understand why it does. An umpire sees where the catcher sets up his glove and while he doesn't completely focus on that area, that's where a lot of his focus is that the pitch will be around there so when a pitch is two feet away from where the glove is set up, it's hard to track that ball over the plate and make the right call. That's the one thing I will give umpires a break about.
  6. I guess we're all shortstops.
  7. I wish they would've been Haboobed out.
  8. Getting a huge laugh out of the postgame promoting Landon Donovan and telling us to "go check him out" for the soccer game at Miller Park when Club Leon terminated his contract 3 weeks ago.
  9. That's where Bill seems to have it confused. He thinks anytime you get hit with the ball and it hits the bat it's a foul ball. If the guy swings and it hits his hand and the bat? Totally get it, foul ball, just like it's a strike if a guy swings at slider and it breaks and hits him on the back foot or something but what has happened the last two times has been a batter not swinging and the ball hitting the hand and bat (maybe the first one was all bat, I don't remember.) Either way, I don't think foul ball if the hitter doesn't swing is the actual rule and it doesn't seem the replay umpires in New York think it's the rule either which is why I think it's weird that Bill keeps saying it's the rule.
  10. If you don't swing the bat but the ball hits it, it's still a foul ball. I'm pretty sure Rock is correct about this. Yes but that's only when the ball hits the bat. If you don't swing and the ball hits your hand and the bat I think being awarded 1st base should be the call. I have no idea if it's supposed to be but it seems like it should be.
  11. Ball hitting the bat and the hand being a foul ball seems like something Bill made up. Seems to me that if a ball hits you and you don't swing at it, you should be awarded 1st base.
  12. -7.8 UZR, -19 DRS. Small sample and maybe he'll get better as he gets used to shortstop again but that doesn't really help us in the three months he'll be on the team and he's really bad defensively right now.
  13. I might be the only one but I wouldn't give up much at all for Machado. Rental with no compensation and he's Yuni bad defensively at shortstop.
  14. Why is TBS so obsessed with those two fat guys? They've had the camera on them for like a minute.
  15. We basically have the entire state of Wisconsin. Our fan base is as extended as it's going to be.
  16. Because I don't trust him to not turn back into a pumpkin and $50 million over two years is a lot to take on for a decent chance of that happening.
  17. Zimmermann does look better and the Tigers' payroll is low enough that there would be no reason for them to devalue an asset like Fulmer to clear money.
  18. Sogard has made nearly $7 million in his career. I would hope that you wouldn't hope for a poster here to lose their job considering a tiny, tiny percentage of posters here would make that amount of money if they worked 50 years.
  19. Nothing worse than an umpire who makes a bad strike call and then escalates it by getting in the player's face.
  20. The stuff the Brewers do is pretty stupid. The show me a little love, the gauntlet, the bullpen hands over head clapping and jumping around. Yeah you're right. But the heart shape with hands is the gold medal of stupid. I think the bullpen clapping might be the gold medal of stupid. Point being all of that stuff is stupid and if I played in the majors I'd probably be labeled a bad teammate for refusing to do it. Don't have a problem with players that do, just that they all know they look really dumb.
