  1. If you think he can keep his HR/FB rate lower than it's ever been, sure. I wouldn't count on that though.
  2. It's also an absolute delight to listen to John Smoltz complain about how long baseball games are. Like dude, do you even like baseball?
  3. It's making up for the first few innings where Anderson was getting hit hard but right at defenders.
  4. They just had two game 7's in the conference finals, with the road teams winning both games. Yep. Inherently boring and noncompetitive. The average margin of defeat in the conference finals was larger than the average margin of defeat than the 9 win 76ers had a couple years ago.
  5. You can make a bad move and get a good result just like you can make a good move and have a bad result. I'm curious as to how you decide WHAT was a bad move. Surely that's subjective. I thought once Hader started getting squeezed on the zone he started to get less effective. It's certainly not a no-brainer after 1 2/3 to leave him in vs. taking him out. Anyone who says this was the WRONG move definitively is just, like, stating an opinion, man. Bringing in the walking and homer machine with the tying run on 3rd is probably not a good move, don't you think?
  6. You can make a bad move and get a good result just like you can make a good move and have a bad result.
  7. I mean he basically did give up the tying run without that knockdown. I very much doubt that ball was going to the outfield. Didn't even look like it was hit hard.
  8. Good idea Counsell. Go with the guy who's been giving up walks and homers like candy on Halloween.
  9. Why would you not just go to full screen? Gets rid of all the comments.
  10. The 5 minute conversation on whether Hader was going to come back out shows how much these guys have watched the Brewers this year.
  11. Jason Motte will be starring in a movie next summer called Straight Outta Williamsburg.
  12. I think you overestimate how many good hitters we have.
  13. Rock is an old school idiot. The catcher's only job there is to clear home plate so he has a lane to throw to 1st base so he doesn't hit the runner in the back and he's obviously not going to take a step backwards and throw himself off balance and take away a lot of the power on his throw so his only choice is to step forward. And what does he expect him to do? Take 5 steps to clear and take away any chance at having a double play? You need to clear (he did) and get rid of the ball quickly to give yourself a chance of getting the out at 1st.
  14. It really wouldn't......IF YOU THINK HE IS THE MISSING PIECE. But we still need more than just him. There is no such thing as a "missing piece." We could trade for Kershaw, Machado and Harper and there's still a good chance we wouldn't win the World Series.
  15. It would be absolutely insane to trade top prospects for Machado.
  16. Brewers had a 38.1% line drive rate and a .143 BABIP tonight. The Cardinals had a 12.0% line drive rate and a .318 BABIP tonight.
  17. Stop saying Wacha was dealing. More walks than strikeouts and he gave up a crap ton of hard contact.
  18. Brian Anderson in a spelling bee. Brian, your word is amateur. Brian: Amateur, a-m-a-d-e-r.
  19. It's unlikely the Giants trade Bumgarner because the NL West is bad so they're relatively close and they've stayed relatively close without Bumgarner all year and Cueto most of it while also having a difficult schedule.
  20. Bolded part is key too. He has basically the entire outside of the baseline to work with and still went after the catcher.
  21. Tyson Ross would be a solid rental now that he looks back to what he was a couple of years ago before his injury.
  22. He wouldn't be banking on Miley if we made a trade or not. The starters are going to be on huge short leashes and they'll have multi inning guys like Houser, Williams and Woodruff (if he's not starting) to bridge the gap to Hader, Jeffress and Knebel.
