  1. Really? Couldn't use Reed to pinch hit for Schafer against Siegrist? Just had to see how Schafer would do against a lefty?
  2. LHB hit .209/.305/.308 off of Miller that year. Literally the only reason he was in the big leagues was to get guys like Drew out. So yes, I think he could've gotten that final out in the 8th and then someone else can take the 9th.
  3. Boy, Price's 14 regular season innings and 2.1 innings in the ALCS in 2008 must have been incredibly important if they wouldn't have gotten to the World Series without him. You may want to check the game logs, particularly 7 of the ALCS. Because they couldn't find anyone else to get those last 4 outs? It's a guarantee that Drew would've gotten the game tying or go ahead hit if say Trever Miller faced him instead of David Price? My point was, he had basically nothing to do with them winning the division and a little to do with them going to the World Series. To say he had some huge part in it is ridiculous.
  4. What is the 1st base umpire looking at? That wasn't even close even in real time and he still got it wrong.
  5. Why call up Reed if we're going to play Logan Schafer ahead of him?

  7. "We want the best scouting information. We want the best player development department. That's what the best teams in baseball are doing, the ones that compete consistently year in and year out and that's our goal."
  8. You don't like the uhh or umm every fifth word? I'm guessing that's probably just nervousness.

  10. Read up on him. He's been involved in pretty much everything. Contract negotiations, arbitration, scouting, analytics, player development. Why would you want a former player to be a GM? Dave Stewart is a former player and he doesn't look like a good GM at all.

  12. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Sources throughout industry saying Stearns is #Brewers’ choice. Neither Brewers nor #Astros have confirmed. Love this hire if it's true.
  13. He's hitting .257/.327/.607 in that span. We could only hope he or any of our other players would hit like that for a season.
  14. This is also not a baseball or MLB video but wiffle ball is awesome and this play is even more awesome.
  15. One of the best plays you'll see a shortstop make. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/51231442/v489539383/stlchc-russell-makes-outstanding-dive-ends-game/?player_id=608365
  16. Is it wrong that I don't hate the Cubs players? Yeah, their fans suck and the last time they were good it was easy to hate guys like Zambrano, Dempster, Marmol and Theriot but I just don't hate the players they have now and I love Maddon.
  17. If you look the catcher was giving him the lane but the threw took the catcher into the path of the runner. Since the catcher is allowed to move into the path to catch the ball, he wasn't considered to be blocking home plate. When you think about this rule even more, it's even dumber than it was when it was first instituted because now coaches are going to be teaching their players to throw inside towards 3rd base so they can't be called for blocking the plate because the throw took them there, which is more dangerous than it was before.
  18. He probably would've been with her even if there wasn't a chance of complications. Remember when the Mets player (name escapes me) went on paternity leave last year and some dolt in the NY media (might have been Boomer Esiason) said his wife should've scheduled a C-section in spring training so he wouldn't have to miss regular season games?
  19. I've mentioned this before and it pretty much fell on deaf ears. At this point, how could anyone not want the Brewers to lose as much as possible? Is it really going to make you feel better if the Brewers finish with 75 wins instead of 68? I'd much rather have the money for the draft next year than have a couple of meaningless wins.
  20. A two pitch pitcher with mediocre control isn't a starter.
  21. Regardless of how bad Chelsea has been so far, I don't see them losing at home to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
  22. Do the D'Backs have any more black prospects they could trade away in order to clear a contract? I hope the Brewers would help them with that regardless of whether we hire a white or black GM.
  23. Because he's 32 and in the final year of his contract. Pretty simple.
  24. I don't believe so.
