  1. A new stadium in Omaha. TD Ameritrade Park.
  2. If McGehee keeps sucking (down to an .800 OPS right now) he won't have any value this winter. I hope he can get it going again, but a 13.4 LD% has me skeptical. And if he's not hitting, he's not worth a ton since he's a pretty bad defender.
  3. Not only that, but if we are out of it and make some trades and call up guys like Cain or Gamel, I don't want Macha handling those guys. He's terrible with young players. Would it shock anyone if Gamel is called up at some point and Counsell gets the majority of the starts? This is still the same manager that gave Hall nearly as many starts at 3B as Gamel last year. If Macha isn't the future manager in Melvin's eyes, then there's no point in keeping him. Especially if Melvin and the rest want to get a look at young guys for the future. Macha isn't going to play them. So fire him and go with Randolph or Sveum. It's not like we're in a situation where their strategies (or lack thereof) are going to matter all that much. If they're willing to play the young guys and watch our young pitchers' pitch counts, I'd go with them.
  4. You are absolutely 100% wrong. When Gamel came up he started 23 times in 58 games. Hall started 22 times. McGehee started 31 times Counsell started 37 times. Hall and Gamel played 3rd base exclusively, Counsell played 2nd base 37 of the 38 starts and McGehee played 2nd base 12 of the 31 starts. Lopez wasn't even on the team until July 20th and the move to make room for Lopez was to send Gamel back to Nashville. Gamel then got called back up September 8th, a 25 game stretch where he collected a grand total of 15 at bats and one start while not getting on the field for 12 of those 25 games. His situation was completely botched and it was evident from the beginning when Macha said he was put in a "zim-zam." And the facts speak clearly about it as well as the top organizational prospect started just one more game than the awful Bill Hall.
  5. I really, really hate that Gallardo goes more than 110 pitches in every start and today he's pushing 120.
  6. Hudson isn't a free agent. He signed a three year deal with Atlanta in the offseason.
  7. Well Mat if it makes you feel any better I thought it was dumb you were on the MLB bench as well. I think most of us did.
  8. That list isn't updated yet because Cain signed a two year extension through 2012. So really the only guy is Lee.
  9. Yeah, the umpire should be ashamed of calling a strike a strike.
  10. Wolf hits 92 on what planet? His average fastball this year is 87.9. Since 2002 his average is 88.1.
  11. Sounds like Texas started talking about moving from the Big 12 first, which likely would've torn apart the conference anyways. So I'd imagine yes. Matt Hayes has a piece on what the conferences might look like in 2012. You know, you look at that and it actually makes some sense.
  12. I'm with Brian. I don't think Weeks got either runner.
  13. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/split/77/league/nl/sort/OPS/order/true
  14. Especially when sub .600 OPS Norris freakin' Hopper is batting 2nd.
  15. I saw Corey Koskie's concussion. And I saw Rick Helling strike out the side on 9 pitches in the 1st inning.
  16. It doesn't help that stupid radio hosts make it seem like it's actually possible to the casual fan.
  17. He was trowin' pretty well. In da 5th inning, he got da ball up over da plate. Why do they think Jerry Augustine is good?
