  1. To be fair, they took that approach last year with guys like Sogard, and it was pretty much a failure. You're comparing apples to atom bombs. Sogard is a much worse hitter who was a starter.
  2. Ironic then that Knebel got smacked around pretty good last night in a game that the Dodgers were winning handily until he came in in the 8th. A 2 run lead is winning handily? He gave up 3 hits, 1 was 88 mph exit velocity and another was 71. Hardly getting smacked around pretty good.
  3. They had all spring training to make a call to see what he had. His contract wasn't guaranteed until he made the opening day roster.
  4. Signs point to us having an $11 million player next year that we really won't want.
  5. Who do you put in there instead? Williams is being eased into games and Hader is the only other shut down option. I know most don't want to admit it but the majority of our bullpen kind of sucks.
  6. A few days ago someone asked what is classified as a hard hit ball and I said I thought it was 95 exit velocity and above and I'm 99.9% sure that's right now because the hard hit percentage in this game was 36% and that Vogelbach liner had an exit velocity of 95.2 and the hard hit percentage went up to 39%.
  7. I don't have the statcast metrics. It looked to me like Garcia's ball was smoked. Hit harder than Shaw's. My eyes must still be adjusting to something like standard baseball. Shaw's was 101.9, Garcia's 90.5.
  8. Don't think it really changes anything other than giving hitters an extra split second to react to the pitch.
  9. If this ever becomes a rule in MLB I would assume the PA would negotiate a gradual implementation.
  10. Nah, Woodruff is clearly better than Peralta. In what way is he clearly better? Better stuff, better command, better control. You know, basically everything.
  11. I have never seen such a passionate hate for an announcer before. Have you ever just muted the TV and turned on the radio or something? If he stops saying stupid, easily proven false things, I won't "passionately hate" him.
