  1. There are many imperfections with the website but calling it trash based on an inability to assign accurate values to players with extreme long-term 9 figure contracts is just lazy and nonsensical. If there's a good way to value such players please explain; there just isn't. That's why such players being traded really only happen under extreme circumstances and usually involve less than top prospects and large sums of money being exchanged. Yes, you do have to exercise some degree of common sense and trying to determine fair value for guys like Yelich, Cole, Rendon, Lindor, etc, isn't going to be a productive exercise. Okay but I also traded our two ace caliber pitchers for a 24 year old 2B and two offensive prospects which the website considered fair value, when it's clearly not. It's not just 9 figure contracts that can give you values that are clearly way off base or "trash" if you will. Another one. Corbin Burnes and Luis Urias for Luis Castillo. Would you do it? It's fair value according to that site. Think we could get Ryan McMahon for Drew Rasmussen or Eric Lauer right now?
  2. Braves need pitching, we need offense and we're getting more overall value. Done deal, right? Or do I need to keep making trades to show that website is garbage? What are you trading them for, Acuna? I guess you could have just answered my honest question but way to go the extra mile to show some extreme values to illustrate what everyone already knows, that you do have to apply some common sense to each individual situation and just because a guy has an assigned surplus or negative value doesn't mean they would realistically be traded because each situation is unique. I call a website trash. I do a very simple one minute trade using the values from the website I call trash filling needs of both teams within a couple million in value that is clearly one sided to anyone looking at it to illustrate that the website is trash and shouldn't be used in any sort of way to determine any potential trade (like Boyd and Fulmer for Turang and Lindblom) and now you don't like it.
  3. Yelich to the Tigers for Miguel Cabrera, Spencer Turnbull and Matt Boyd is also a fair trade.

  5. Yeah, they wpuldn't touch that. They could probably get multiple prospects for both with at least one being at Turang's level or better. So add several more prospects and then if they want Lindblom to fill in innings but you're not getting one, much less both for Turang and a player we don't want. Yeah I really doubt it. Both have one more year of control after this year and are more #3 than ace quality pitchers. Sellers just aren't getting enormous returns even for quality pitching. I put this one through the public trade evaluator and it comes out almost dead even. I realize that isn't the end all. It I think you're overestimating the trade value of these guys. . Fulmer just hasn't recovered alt of his value. Boyd, maybe. Hiura's value has tanked enough that maybe it's a better match to do both for Hiura instead, but I'm only suggesting that because I've been on record saying trade Hiura now before it becomes obvious to everyone that he can't play and his value totally tanks. I certainly wouldn't do him for less than both, though. There's the problem. I think that trade value website is total trash and it also completely ignores that teams don't have to trade players if they don't get the value they feel they should be and there could be multiple teams involved (which there usually are for starting pitchers) to drive the price above the "surplus value."

  7. Maybe Urias needs to do 50 hoppers to 1st like Bohm just did to him.
  8. Cookie fastball and hanging slider let go and strikes out on the next pitch.
  9. It's highly unlikely he would still be on the injured list if it was just side effects from the vaccine.
  10. Hilarious that Nottingham is one of our top home run guys in one game after we got rid of him a week ago.
  11. Just checking on Seager, probably didn't hurt to much. Looks at replay and sees it's in the groinal region and goes silent.
  12. Don't blame him on that last one. If he takes the time to turn and set himself, Feliciano scores easily. Really the only chance was grab it, sort of turn towards the plate and just chuck it and hope it's sort of on target.
  13. 4 hour 48 minute grinder? How does Brian Anderson have access to my phone from last night?
  14. You could give Hiura the strength to swing General Sherman and he still wouldn't be able to make contact.
