  1. I don't know how you could know this. There are so many mock drafts, he has been all over the place, like just about every player besides the top 10(ish). Besides it only takes one team to say yes and it doesn't matter what his draft "stock" is. Also no team is saying anything, so we don't know anybody's draft stock. I've seen mocks with Bush to the packers at 12 and at 30. That shows just one example of the variety of opinion.
  2. I voted for Hockenson, but of course this is hard because we don't know who will be around at 12. If Oliver or White is around, they should go defense and hope an Iowa TE is available at 30 or trade up. Fits a need though and the pass rush was addressed in free agency. better not be Metcalf. and i will be (most likely) happy.
  3. I am not surprised. If you aren’t sure you are an1st round pick, you shouldn’t leave. There isn’t much of a market in the nba for sub 6’ players who doesn’t play great defense, no matter how much of a prolific scorer you are. I think he does have an nba future, but if got taken in the 2nd round, it’s a non-guaranteed contract.
  4. I think wojo is right on the hot seat. There is no reason this team shouldn’t be playing in the second weekend of the tournament.
  5. Personally I’d check on the price for Rosen if he can be gotten for a 2nd and he can back up Rodgers for a Rookie scale deal it may be worth it.
  6. Nice job, as always. The #12 pick is very hard for me to get a handle on. As I posted in the other thread, with the expected run on QB's in the first half of the first round, the packers SHOULD get a way better player than we expected at 12. I would love Wilkins, Sweat, Bush, Ferrell, White, Oliver at that pick. With the last 2 probably gone, but I would pounce on if they are around. I do hope that they use atleast one of these 1st round picks on offense and I have solely focused on Brown, Hockenson, or Fant at 30. I hope you are right on Hockenson, I can't say I have a solid opinion on which Iowa TE will be the better pro. Before free agency I would have hoped that the Packers load up on defense but now they don't have to. There seems to be great value on defense in the upper half of the 1st round. For all of the reasons described above, I have fully changed my mind on trading up. I think they can get 2 good players by keeping these picks. EDIT: I do love the Harry pick at 2, if the packers go defense - TE in the 1st, and got Harry in the 2nd. I would be very pleased.
  7. Changing subjects ESPN has Marquette ranked #2 going into next season. https://es.pn/2UEdMN3
  8. I never meant for this to be anything more than a discussion on perceptions of the Marquette job. It has nothing to do with the big 10 or Wisconsin. I’ll stand by my first statement that Marquette is a better job than Virginia tech. They did hire a mid major coach who is not an up and comer, which only helps my point. I agree we don’t need to be comparing conferences as it’s a cyclical arguement.
  9. You are absolutely correct. Also, Wojo hasn't won an NCAA March Madness tournament game yet. I’m surprised he doesn’t get more pushback for this, but he hasn’t. Say what you want about buzz he got them into the sweet 16 pretty consistently. My statement wasn’t pro or anti wojo, just stating facts. Personally I think wojo (or more likely Stan Johnson) is a great recruiter and an average at best in game coach.
  10. I never argued that the acc is not a better conference than the big east. That doesn’t mean that Virginia tech is a better job than Marquette. By your logic you would say that wake forest is a better job than Villanova.
  11. Either way, tech made a good hire today in mike young that makes a lot of sense for him and the program. Doesn’t look like Wojo is going anywhere this offseason. Now we wait to see what Howard desides to do.....
  12. There was a lot of off the court incidents during buzz’s time that I think gave boosters concern. You will notice that since Wojo took over there hasn’t been a single reported one.
  13. It’s not. When buzz left Marquette he left for a pay cut because the boosters wanted him out. There is no indication that Wojo is leaving g Marquette minus the report I sighted based off of flight plans. Maybe the program is in better shape than Marquette right now depending on if Howard comes back or not and who transfers from Virginia Tech which usually happens. The truth is minus that the ACC is a better conference than the big east, there is no barometer that VA tech is a better job than Marquette. Marquette has better history, facilities, fan support, financial support and is the only gig in town. I do hope someday Marquette will no longer be viewed as a stepping stone because it shouldn’t be. They are not a mid major and they put a ton of resources into being a big time program.
  14. Could Marquette be loosing another coach to Virginia Tech? https://techlunchpail.com/2019/04/01/rumors-flight-patterns-pointing-buzz-williams-steve-wojciechowski-virginia-tech/
  15. There seems to be a bunch of second round WR’s they could target. I’d stay away from metcalf at 12. IF brown is around at 30, I’d look at that but it’s unlikely. I’d rather focus on other needs and get a wr with their second round pick, like N’Keal Harry. Historically, the packers have had great success with 2nd round WR’s (Nelson, Adams, Cobb) too.
  16. I don’t think Oliver is around at 12 anymore. Most mock drafts I see have him in the top 10. He was a consensus too pick before the year and his pro day will probably mean he won’t be around. That being said, very likely bush or white will be around, id be happy with either or hockinson at 12. Still want abram at 30. It’s very likely 4 quarterbacks will go in the top 15, 2 have no business based on ability alone. This is great news for GB who will get a much better player at 12 than previously thought. This is why I am now anti-trade up, unless you can get Bosa or Allen.
  17. I only trade up if I can get Allen or Bosa. And even at 12, I hate the idea of taking Bush. Maybe White, but Bush was a 2nd round pick before his 40 time. I think both have the potential to be busts. And I don't like a MLB'er that high. But that's just me. You trade up ONLY if you can get UK's Allen or OSU's Bosa. If not, I'm 100 pct with you, Oliver works, Hockenson works...Fant looks like he'll be gone at 30, but you never know. We can do BPA, and if those BPA are offensive studs to give Rodgers more weapons, that's great. Both Smiths mean we don't HAVE to take a pass rusher(though it'd be really great to add a 3rd and keep them fresh or move Za'Darius inside on passing downs with Clark and Daniels. I would have agreed with you before they got the smiths. I guess you can never have enough pass rushers and I am not against using the pick the saints have us to move up. My point was there are more pressing needs now that can be addressed at 12 and 30.
  18. I haven’t really made any predictions because I was waiting to see what they would do in free agency and get the combine and pro days in. If they don’t trade up I’d be ecstatic with hockinson or Oliver at 12 and fant or abrams at 30. I do think that with these quarterbacks moving up the board , it doesn’t make sense to trade up and someone who we thought was guaranteed to be gone could be sitting there like white or bush.
  19. Maybe but we Don’t know that. Stearns has signed a guy like fields and Wilson each year he has been here and it has worked out each year. Nothing wrong with improving the pen especially with Corey and JJ possibly being on the IL to start the season. The longer this drags on, the more likely you are probably right though.
  20. Seems like the consensus from the “experts” is a 6 tonight. I’m ok with this, especially if they get the play in game winner instead getting one of those mid major 12 seeds that always seem to get the upset. Still think Marquette would have won Friday if John and Sacar didn’t get ejected and could have given nova a run yesterday. Without this fall I think they would have been a 2 or 3, but that’s the way college basketball goes sometimes.
  21. I do a home run derby every year with a bunch of guys where you pick a player from each pool and then 3 wildcards. I try to fill up one entry with wildcards who a projected call ups once the super 2 deadline passes to hit lightening in a bottle. I was thinking of take vlad jr and either tatis, Jimenez. Leaning toward Elroy but was wondering if someone who follows this closer has a strong opinion on who could hit more big league homers this year?
  22. If they can get Oliver or Ferrel at 12 and Hockinson or brown at 30 that would be a Home run.
  23. I agree that the Bledsoe contract seems fair. What I don’t know is how does this affect the cap with respect to resigning Brogdon, Lopez and Middleton. I assume we can’t sign all 3 but I hope they have money for 2?
  24. I think the raiders would be receptive to getting 2 first round picks for 4 and the math works out via the draft value chart. It would depend on who goes in the top 3 and if the packers are also willing though. I’d love to add a superstar which I think they can do with their extra pick
  25. The loss yesterday was a roadblock but they still can win the regular season championship by winning the final 3. All 3 are very winnable too.
