  1. In my opinion you do not make this move unless you have a solid trade set up for Braun and Santana, and are OK with going into 2018 with an offense of Brinson, Phillps and Yelich with Bronson as your #4
  2. You can't replace Levering with Uecker, The broadcasts are very boring with Levering and Grindle. You need a color guy. I would think that Dillard would be an awesome choice or someone like Gorman Thomas.
  3. Dave Fizdale is the early favorite, according to one report https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2018/01/latest-on-kidd-bucks-coaching-job.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook I like the idea of Budenholzer, did a great job when Atlanta had talent. I would think that Milwaukee would be the top job on the market.
  4. Well it wasn't the best stunner in the world, but still impressive. Looks like Taker hung it up today officially, so no truth to the Cena - Taker rumors at WM. Not sure why they did't wait until the rumble for the Hardy - Wyatt match.
  5. There is no reason to believe that the bucks will get a good head coach to replace Kidd after how much ownership botched the GM search. Horst has done OK so far IMO, besides the Wilson pick, but you still need to get ownership to agree on one coach.
  6. my bigger point was that every family has only so much money to spend on sporting events. Yes there are hockey fans in the region that will go to more games because its the NHL and not the AHL. I think the typical fan like myself only does have a certain amount of money I can spend on entertainment. For every NHL game I would attend its one less MU, Brewers, or Bucks game. Milwaukee needs to focus on supporting what we have rather than add another team to the mix.
  7. Milwaukee cannot support anymore sports teams. I think for a city with 1MM in the metropolitan area, we are cashed out. The admirals cannot get 5000 a night, how would one figure that Milwaukee could continue to get 12-14k a night for the bucks, 10k a night for MU, 30k a night for the brewers, and still have some support for the Wave, UWM, not to mention how many people in the area regularly attend events in GB and Madison. Do not forget that Milwaukee has a very large art scene for a city its size. Most cities the size of Milwaukee do not have 5 median sized concert venues (Riverside, Pabst, Turner, Rave, Milwaukee Theater) not to mention UWM arena and the new one. Throw in the Marcus Center for the Arts the symphony, ballet, etc. Everyone only has so much money to spend on entertainment, I honestly I surprised we have as much to do in Milwaukee as we do.
  8. I could see the Yankees dealing quite a bit for Shaw to try and stay under the tax. The Yankees would intrigue me since they have a ton of talent in their minors. Since they traded for Stanton, I really don't think they care about the tax threshold though.
  9. I didn't care for the pick either. Was hoping for Giles with how the draft stacked up. But in all honestly there wasn't much available when the bucks made their pick.
  10. it would make no sense to sign Moustakas to a large free agent contract, and trade shaw unless the return is huge. Plus why wouldn't the teams that would potentially acquire Shaw wouldn't just sign Moustakas and not have to give up prospects.
  11. Honestly, I do not care if or the Vikings make / win the superbowl. I didn't want Favre to win a super bowl with them but with him long retired, it doesn't really matter. I would imagine it would be a little different if I lived in GB since you are much closer to Minneapolis, but being 7 hours away in Milwaukee, and I rarely see a Vikings fan (although last weekend I did see a handful of people in Vikings stuff out and about). Im going to cheer for the Jags this weekend, and that is the only game I am looking forward to seeing this weekend.
  12. In general, in games that they win, Rowsey or Howard goes off and Hauser contributes. What I didn't expect is for Elliot and John to contribute so much as freshman. I did not think that this was a tournament team because of the reliance on 3 players and the lack of bigs in November. I think now with the 2 freshman, if Froling can contribute at all, they have a good shot of getting in.
  13. The win over Seton Hall was big enough to put Marquette into the field of 65, per ESPN atleast http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology
  14. I don't see a spot for them on the staff since the QB coach and OC were both hired. Maybe as an offensive consultant. Bevell was in GB before Rodgers / McCarthy so there is no relationship, so I don't really see the need or the advantage of doing that though.
  15. now its official https://www.profootballrumors.com/2018/01/packers-hire-joe-philbin-as-offensive-coordinator?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook
  16. I do not think the Packers have officially named Philbin OC. It is possible that he could get the same title as Tom Clements did towards the end of his time at GB and they could bring in a Darrell Bevell. I really would like to get someone new in there to freshen up the offense even just a little, rather than just get the band back together.
  17. Wolf to the browns, not surprised at all. Just hope the Packers picked the two best of the 4 before letting Highsmith and Wolf go to the browns. http://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2018/01/10/eliot-wolf-leaving-packers-browns-assistant-gm/1020441001/
  18. In defense of McCarthy, all coaches and managers do this. Counsell brought in Murphy to be his bench coach for a reason. Yes you should have some opposing views and not everyone should be a yes man. Also McCarhy has no experience in working with Pettine so that isn't 100% true anyway.
  19. looks like Mike Pettine is the guy as DC. While I am glad they went outside of the organization I would have preferred Fangio or Bradley
  20. I am sure now that the Bears have a coach in place they will make every effort to retain Fangio, but it is a good sign that he is atleast interviewing in GB.
  21. Well he is interviewing in Cleveland today http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/01/browns_gm_john_dorsey_wants_to.html
  22. But the Packers DID have a veteran backup in 2013. The problem was that Seneca Wallace got hurt and was lost for the year in the first quarter of his first start. Honestly, who had backup QB on their wish list heading into week 1? Yes, Hundley was proven ineffective and inadaquate. But people if people are claiming now that QB was a position of need, its with the benefit of hindsight. Look at the Vikings, they had a veteran backup for Bradford and now they are in the NFC divisional round. I think if you had someone like Derek Anderson or Matt Moore instead of Hundley, you are in the playoffs this season. About half of the teams in the league have a starter with atleast limited starting experience thats all I am asking for. The Packers have not had this in forever.
  23. Well you would expect a dad to say that, but I don't think it has to do with him not being qualified. I think they took the more experienced candidate to mitigate risk.
  24. I wonder if Wolf is leaving or just taking some time to get over not getting the job. Ball was promoted to Executive VP/Director of Football Ops and now all 3 (McCarthy too will report to Murphy). No mention of Wolf's role.
