  1. I don't think we know all of the details, but the ellenson situation doesn't look good from the outside. It definitely appears as Wally was just offered a scholarship to get Henry, and once Henry left for the draft, Wojo found a better use for his scholarship. There probably is more to hit, and the Ellenson family has been rather quiet. This is a big season for Marquette, While Wojo continues to have top 15 classes, he has nothing to show for it. Last year they were very young, this season they really don't have that excuse.
  2. doesn't the starter pick the uniform for that day? maybe the players just like it, and its of no direct edict from management.
  3. could also have a lot to do with safety. For example, The Bucs drafted Jameous Winston to be their franchise QB for 10 years, if you do not put together a competent OL, you risk serious injury. If you have a young stud basketball player and put him with 4 scrubs, it really doesn't mean he has a better chance for injury.
  4. bucks lost all tie breakers and are most likely picking 10th in the draft. http://www.brewhoop.com/2016/4/15/11440232/nba-draft-lottery-tiebreaker-results-bucks-kings-nuggets like i previously posted mock drafts are all over the place, so i have no idea what players to begin wanting the bucks to target.
  5. I don't understand why the NBA and NFL has different cultures when it comes to tanking. NFL teams try to win every week no matter draft picks, they are righting for jobs next season. In the NBA, the last few weeks are full of teams trying to out tank each other. In the NFL no team would try what the 76ers are doing. I don't think there is any way to fix this. I do not like the lottery because #1 it hasn't shown to minimize tanking, #2 it often puts high picks in teams that don't really need it, thus creating less competitive balance.
  6. This argument doesn't make much sense. People buy the "barley M" uniform because they want to own what the brewers wear on the field. These people would switch to the new logo and probably replace all of their old merchandise over time. I don't think if the brewers went "retro" full time their uniforms would look just like they did in 1992, so it would still be the best of both worlds. The brewers know that the average fan has only so much they can spend on merchandise, so even though the brewers do a great job on capping it with new and special uniforms and merchandise each season, the best way to get people to buy new stuff is a full change.
  7. It happened. When Ron Wolf first came to Green Bay, one of the first things he tried to do was change the color schematic to Notre Dame colors. That didn't go over well. personally i think it would have been an improvement, but i admit you don't mess with history
  8. I don't either. I wouldn't even mind them taking Stone there. Boom or bust. An athletic 7 footer, not sure about his head, but when I see a few of the names available around 10 they're all meh. So you may as well go for high ceiling. I'm a homer, but i like Ellenson and Jaylen Brown, the 2 mock drafts that i regularly view (draft express and nbadraft.net have different opinions on who will be around so its hard to figure out what could be available at 8-10.
  9. i should know this, but is there a coin flip to break the 3 way tie to figure out what spot do the bucks get in the lottery, do all 3 teams though have the same % chance to move up then?
  10. it is odd that no team went retro with their holiday hats but the brewers. in the spring a bunch of teams wore retro hats, not in this case.
  11. i would agree, i would look at what the bucks did as a template. They went retro but didn't just modernize their jerseys from the late 80's or early 90's (even though that would have made me happy).
  12. I disagree, if the brewers were really interested in making the switch, they would have not introduced new alternatives this season. The jerseys they were on sundays are exactly what i would expect for them to use for full time alternates, why introduce them before you make the change. Overall i find their logo pretty bland and after 15 seasons of it, i'm fine with switching, and i wouldnt' mind bringing back the ball and glove logo, because the brewers can only do so much with the nickname brewers and the PC culture of today. I still would like to see what marketing agencies and designers could come up with that would be new
  13. my ideal move is New Orleans, due to its proximity to Biloxi / Brevard County. The marlins have a poor minor league system.
  14. I just hope Stearns learned from Melvin's handling of Nashville (not saying that Doug did anything wrong) and not sign a 2 year extension this offseason, only to loose the affiliate to Texas in the fall of 2018
  15. seems like a big overreaction after one bad outing.
  16. seems odd that the brewers haven't formally announced that Broxton and Neunenweiss made the team, i wonder if they are looking into someone like Bourne to play in center.
  17. seems like a decent signing, i doubt he'd stick around once Knebel returns though
  18. wrestlemania predictions: 1) Kalisto beats Ryback 2) Total Divas beats BAAD and Blonde 3) Dudleys beat the USOs 4) Reigns beans Triple H 5) Ambrose beats Lesnar 6) Shane McMahon beats the Undertaker 7) Sasha banks beats Charlotte, Becky 8) Sami Zayn wins IC title 9) Styles beats Y2K in the match of the night 10) Mark Henry wins the battle royal 11) New Day beats League of Nations
  19. i would hope with the brewers current prospect rankings, they can turn that into a better PDC than fresno or CS in 2017.
  20. doubt it, they wanted a lefty reliever. if one the starters struggle, i think Davies or Lopez gets the first crack at filling in. there is no other lefty in the pen, that is cappy's role.
  21. I was hoping once they signed him, that middlebrooks would find his way on the opening day roster, i just don't see the math working out I'm going to predict: C (2) Lucroy, Maldonado IF (6), Carter, Gennett, Villar, Hill, Rivera, Walsh OF (5) Santana, Broxton, Braun, Flores, Lirano SP (5) Nelson, Garza, Peralta, Anderson, Jungmann RP (7) Jeffress, Knebel, Blazek, Smith, Morales, Thornberg, Boyer or Cravey
  22. it would appear that there are very few hot upset picks like normal, i know there will be some but there isn't that potential cinderella that everyone is talking about.
  23. regarding Marquette: they were completely done in by strength of schedule, hopefully Wojo learned that the reason why they didn't get into the NIT was that strength of schedule was awful and nomatter how good the Big East was, it wasn't enough to make up for scheduling almost all bottom 300 teams in the nonconference home portion of the schedule. Its too bad they wasted Ellenson's only season at Marquette.
  24. in the beginning of the season, the bucks game were not available on the fox sports go app, and now they are. Spring games have not been available, i was wondering the same thing if they would start being available on opening day.
  25. Good insurance with Boyer if they trade smith or decide they need a 2nd lefty in the pen
