  1. IF senzel is there at 5 do you take him? i don't think Puk will be. The brewers traditionally do not look at college bats but there is no 3rd base options in the system, it makes sense to me. In my opinion he is the best college bat in the draft.
  2. I found this, apparently someone keeps track of what they wear, not updated for May but in April they wore https://uniformlineup.com/milwaukee/mil-daily-uni-lineups/ Home whites - 3 times Alternate blues - 16 Road Grey = 2 Retro Fridays - 3 so they are wearing the blues 2/3 of the time
  3. if the players like them, wouldn't it make sense to switch full time then?
  4. this is very strange, they wear these jerseys 75% of the time. I do not think any baseball team has worn an alternate that much more than than their standard uniforms. My theory is that the brewers wanted to change to the ball and glove, but didn't want to wait whatever waiting period MLB requires for a logo change, but was told they could create a new alternate uniform. That doesn't make total sense though because its not like the blue jays or astros introduced a modified retro alternate a year before the complete change, doesn't get the same effect as just doing everything at once.
  5. I have been looking online for the jacket that the brewers wear in the dugout when they were their retro alternates. its blue and has the ball and glove logo in the upper right front. has anyone seen it. heading to miller park this weekend to see if its available there, but would rather find it elsewhere.
  6. this could be posted here or in the brewers triple A thread, but since its bucks centric, i'll put it here. bucks looking at Oshkosh for an NBDL affliate (http://www.jsonline.com/sports/bucks/oshkosh-group-discussing-d-league-affiliate-with-bucks-b99732190z1-380909901.html) I know the NBDL is nowhere near triple A baseball, but its interesting that the bucks are not concerned to put a minor league affiliate 1 1/2 away, when some on this board thought the brewers were concerned about putting their top affiliate in Madison.
  7. Reds select Nick Senzel, 3rd basemen from Tennessee
  8. Great news from WWE this morning http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/article/smackdown-live-usa-network-july-19?sf26901815=1 Smackdown is moving to tuesdays and will be Live. Secondly there will be an imminent draft and the 2 shows will have unique rosters. I really miss the brand split, it gave me a reason to watch both shows. Smackdown has been doing better about having some big things happen over there, instead of just recapping RAW since leaving SyFy.
  9. are you referring to Puk, Pint, Groome, and Perez? just wondering
  10. thanks casey for the advice, i cleaned up my desktop, removed some junk programs, disabled java and it seems to be working much better. going to run malware bytes ever week to make sure its catching malware and hopefully it will be good to go.
  11. posting this here, because i have been looking online and cannot get any consistent answer. i would like to get some sort of anti virus on my MAC, it has been running slow and i think its do to malware from my stepson's games. When i search i get download mac keeper, but that looks like a large phishing scam. Another possibility is Norton. I have malware bytes installed on my computer, but it doesn't seem to be finding anything. What do people do to protect their macs?
  12. college basketball has been ruined by this. The stars are only around for 1 season, so by the time people know who they are they are gone. Shooting in the NCAA is bad because the best players are gone after 1 season.
  13. The issue with the NBA draft is that most players are getting drafted 2-3 years before NFL players. In NFL if you are a first round pick and cant contribute on day 1, there is an issue. In the nba players are not ready when they are drafted. I agree with your points that once basketball is their full time job and NCAA rules are no longer applicable with regards to coaching and practice times, you will naturally improve. It is sad that a player who was a great college player in Denzel Valentine actually has a negative listed as being 23 one NBA opening night. I understand that this is how its going to be from now on, and basketball is naturally going the route of baseball with more teams owning their own NBDL teams.
  14. Exactly what I was going to say. Yes, Skal after year 3 at Kentucky will be better and more prepared than now, of course. Skal after 1 year at UK and then two years of NBA training though is much better than the Skal with 3 years at Kentucky. There is actually a rule in college that doesn't allow coaches to work with players for more than a small amount of hours each week. And yes of course some guys will got lost in the life and not put in the work or whatever, which could happen just as much later on after more years in college. More importantly this is America and the individual should be able to choose his path and have the right to make money, and frankly I have no idea how these leagues have gotten away with blatant age discrimination like they have. I agree with you and that wasn't my point. In the nfl if you are a first round pick and don't contribute thats an issue, in the nba as players get younger and younger, there is no expectation to contribute for 2 seasons. They aren't ready.
  15. this is the problem, players now get paid to develop in the NBA rather than college. As a Marquette season ticket holder, it is obvious that Ellenson COULD be a good NBA player but needs 2 years to develop, but still he will be a lottery pick, so he would be dumb to not leave. I agree with your assessment with Labissiere, my thinking is that the bucks could be patient with him . I think Valentine is the most projectable and safest lottery pick, if the bucks just want a solid shooter.
  16. my initial guesses at 10 are Valentine or Jackson. If they want to go big I'd look at Labissiere.
  17. begins to set the price for Lucroy though, you would think he would have to be worth atleast 15 million a year, if Cervelli gets 10.3.
  18. probably good that he gets playing time in AAA with Hill being on fire and Perez playing good ball of late, but i still would have preferred getting rid of Walsh and keeping Rivera's glove in Milwaukee.
  19. going to my first t-rats game on Sunday, does anyone have any recommendations? What is the go-to food item to get? We plan on tailgating and getting into the stadium at least a couple minutes before to see the stadium.
  20. Hader has been lights out in Biloxi (0.53 ERA), any chance he gets a shot, not like its going to hurt.
  21. how does getting shelled in CS supposed to improve his cofidence. Who is the 5th starter now? Cappy???
  22. Madison is a college town, the basketball and football teams are well supported, i think it would hard to add a minor league baseball team to the mix. While its different times of the year, there is only so much disposable income in a town that can be used towards sports. Des Moines' only D1 school is drake, so the cities disposable income can go for baseball. Many people from Madison drive down to Milwaukee to go to brewers games. When teams are added to a city, it has an affect on the arts and all other teams in that city. That being said, a AAA team in Madison would be awesome, but I understand why it makes little sense for the brewers or the city of Madison to do it.
  23. Montreal would be interesting, they do show up when the blue jays play exhibitions there. That being said, any expansion would hurt the game, there aren't enough good pitchers now, and now there would be 26 more major league pitchers. ugh.
