I think these moves guarantees that Davis and/or Lucroy is gone. Claiming a guy out of options isn't for organizational depth when you have 2 established catchers on the big league roster.
I am officially confused on what they are doing here. There has to be a trade on the horizon. They have no 1st baseman. I can get the Pinto and Nieuwenhuis claims i guess, but I can't see bringing in a 1st baseman that isn't going to start for your team.
i think bleacher report - team stream is the best out there. links to jsonline articles, brewers beat writers twitter accounts, etc. its really all i use for all of my teams i follow.
These kind of posts are why I love Brewerfan.net Thank you for the smiles a long the way. i wasn't really joking. my point was that they should try to find a guy in his mid 20's with some potential rather than a guy on the wrong side of 30 on a 1 or 2 year deal to try to squeeze a few extra wins on the season. I like the suggestion of Fuyenmayor from KC, its the least KC could do for us after us helping them with a title.
i don't understand the reasoning for signing a 1st baseman on the wrong side of 30 to a 1 year deal. I know they need a stopgap 1st baseman, but doesn't it make sense to go internal instead. i would prefer the brewers acquiring a young 1st baseman somehow.
seems like thats a small venue for NXT, will be a tough ticket to get. Not sure where they would go in Milwaukee, Panther arena seems like a better choice.
it would be sad to see the brewers returning Walsh or releasing Rivera to make room for Middlebrooks on the 40, but if the brewers want to dump peterson, more power to them.
really feel that they are mailing it in after Night of champions until the rumble. hopefully raw picks up after TLC. Didn't know about the Vault of AWA and Mid south wrestling that was added to the network until your post. pretty cooll.
i don't think yesterday's trade means that it will be a long rebuild necessarily. The team has a decent young pen and rotation and have some pieces in place for the everyday lineup. I think they took the best offer they could get for Lind.
not really. The brewers don't really have anyone to play 1st, 3rd, of CF next season. There is no top prospect that the brewers could fill in. To give Alverez a 1 or 2 year deal, is similar to picking up Aram's option last season. It buys time.
this is a move that the brewers of say 1995 would make. known player, with some power. I would hope that the brewers are smart enough to just let Rogers have a chance to see what he can do.
Jon Morosi is reporting the brewers are interested in Pedro Alverez to play 1st. I guess i am OK with it, as a stopgap measure. I would rather give Rogers a chance, but he will atleast give the brewers some power, which the brewers lack.
what do fans think would be a decent return for 1 year of K-Rod and Lind? GM's knew the brewers wanted to unload these 2 and didn't have to overpay for them. I am sure if there were better offers, Stearns would have taken it. If the brewers decide to trade lucroy or segura, we will get a better idea of Stearns.
