  1. well he did say that he was very involved in the gomez trade, which the early returns is not good for Houston.
  2. the one thing that was obvious is that this is no longer your dad's milwaukee brewers. Its going to be a completely different organization, which is a good thing
  3. wouldn't that be a Lunow decision? i hope that is asked tomorrow though By the way, officially His duties in Houston included player evaluations and contract negotiations, and he also helped oversee the Astros' scouting, player development and analytics departments, so i am not sure how much input he had in the trade.
  4. i found it interesting that he wasn't one of the names that were leaked of people the brewers interviewed. He is a year younger than Braun. Without knowing anything about it minus what was said today, I am excited for the coming organizational reset.
  5. i know Attanasio is a very analytical and deliberate person, but then what are they waiting for? There are 6 GM job openings. I think if they think this is their guy and feel that the other candidates they have interviewed do not meet their requirements. , they should pounce on him. They hired Melvin at the end of the season, so there is precedent.
  6. I'd sacrifice a spot in the draft order to stick it to St. Louis and help force them into the wildcard game instead of the division title. I'd rather have the higher pick to hopefully stick it to St. Louis down the line and win a division title. Also i'd rather have St Louis make a deep playoff run, if that means that the cubs do not.
  7. should be an interesting RAW, i am sure we will find out who the 3rd member of the Reigns / Ambrose team will be. predicting that Charlotte wins the belt tonight but only seconds after Nikki Bella becomes the longest diva title holder in history, rolling her up as she celebrates her record title reign.
  8. I like the candidates that are being mentioned. Seems like they are focusing on younger guys who worked for quality organizations. This is really all i wanted.
  9. no to a rangers home game, but Astros will be in town. The Crew opens at home 4/4 vs the Giants at 1:10 PM CT. - Interleague foes will be the Twins as usual, and the AL West. Carlos Gomez and the Astros visit on the opening homestand. - Home Interleague series: Astros, Twins, Angels, A's. Road Interleague: Twins, A's, Mariners, Rangers. - Will be in D.C. for July 4th. - Season wraps up at Colorado.
  10. i always found it odd, but it is nice that teams can give out schedule magnets for 2016 at the end of the season.
  11. cue rumors of Montgomery as the GM, and Jack Z returning as scouting director.
  12. K-Rod has finally been put on revocable waivers. We should know today if a claim was made. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/08/francisco-rodriguez-darren-oday-waivers.html not sure why you would wait until the end of the month. A few relievers was already traded in August;
  13. The New Day is hilarious, but I think Big E is being royally misused. Raw was very good last night; while it leaked that Sting was going to be on RAW, noone had the return of the Dudley Boys. Looking forward to them fighting the New Day at Night of Champions. Pretty interesting that they bought out that Braun guy without even being on NXT at all, will be interesting to see who teams up with Rollins and Ambrose now for the 6 man tag at Night of Champions that I am sure is coming.
  14. wonder if he got as far as the dodgers; there are a few potential playoff teams that need pen help.
  15. t don't like the idea of taking the phillies garbage... hopefully this does mean that a Cotts trade can be worked out in short order. doesn't make sense to call up Santana if you are going to claim a RP.
  16. there is always the possibility of putting Braun at 1B and letting Santana play RF, but that you would have to do in the offseason obviously.
  17. thank god they didn't trade him last season to try to make a playoff run.
  18. davis is hot, so it makes sense to let him ride out the season and see what he can do in the last 6 weeks, but Santana doesn't profile to me as a CF. either way, i don't care who sits for him to play, just that he gets regular AB's, which i doubt they called him up to sit.
  19. Santana is coming up; hopefully he replaces Davis in LF for the rest of the season and not just isn't up here to rot on the bench
  20. bumping this for summerslam, some predictions: Lesnar defeats Taker with interference from Sting Sheamus defeats Orton Rollins beats Cena Ryback retains Wyatt family beats the Shield (maybe help from 3rd member) Lucha wins Tag Team belts Amell and Nevell beats stardust and barett Owens beats Cesaro PCB wins the 3 way womans match Ziggler beats Rusuv making this 4 hours has really craeted alot of matches that i don't care about, but i think that the owens, rollins, and taker matches will be very good. Womans match could be good if they allow enough time to do it right.
  21. i think the brewers handled it fine, not over the top. i wouldn't expect Uecker to get overly excited; 252 career home runs ties him for 206th all time. its a nice accomplishment, but its not 3000 hits or anything.
  22. seems too passive to be a 3rd base coach, always figured he would get back into the game as a hitting coach or 1st base coach, but i wish him the best
  23. Girsch seems like a great choice based on his body of work. The brewers have hired a search firm that i would assume could find out if there could be an issue with him and the scandal. It's why you pay someone to help your search. To say that hiring any cardinal employee is too toxic may be a little too much at this point. Brewers just need to get the right guy
  24. Last piece of the pie to get the arena done is City Council vote on September 22nd.
  25. I think the brewers should go outside of the organization. Ray Montgomery is in his second stint with the brewers. I think the brewers need someone who can come in and evaluate the ENTIRE organization. I am not sure if Montgomery is that guy, although i wouldn't be necessarily upset if he was the guy. The issue though is that you would have to hire another new scouting director would behind the 8 ball for a very important draft, with a top 5 pick most likely.
