I just walked the field at about 2pm. Don't ask, it's the coach in me that has to check everything out. Moderate standing water in the right hand batters box and in front of the pitching rubber. Very minimal standing water in both the SS/3B and 1B/2B holes. Outfield is in good shape. Still 4 hours left for the sun to dry her out. Not sure when the city officials make their rulings. I was all set to buy tickets for the Brewers game, but i'd call it 50/50 at this point. Frustrating not seeing any parks/rec staff out there working the fields. I was spoiled in Florida. I've got some tixs on standby as a backup plan if anybody else is interested let me know.

If we're rained out, I'll be at the Brewer game in 131, right next to the left field foul pole. The rain gods are supposed to begin phase 2 of their attack at 4pm or so, and if there is standing water already, that is not a good sign.

I can't call till 4:30, but I will post as soon as I hear anything either way.

Per the hotline, Dyer Field is cancelled for tonight. I'm gonna go stomp around mad now and look forward to the brewer game.

They were released last minute. Pure luck this time. If not for the double discount, thank you 5-county tax, I wouldn't have spent the $$. But considering it's probably the missus last game before the baby and last game for a while, gotta splurge. If you see an extremely pregnant woman with a JJ Hardy jersey getting Bell's services from behind the plate, wish me luck...it's a girl. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

You just make sure to tell her I don't give DL time to our scorekeepers, and birth is no excuse http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Congrats!

I'm surprised it's cancelled, we got quite a downpour earlier, but it hasn't rained since noon ... with a good deal of sun ... and it looks pretty dry out there. *shrug*

Reminder there is practice tomorrow barring a biblical flood.

Matt, I believe Dyer itself had a decent amount of standing water which is why we were cancelled. Must not be a field with a good drainage system.
