They do remind me of the Bucks though. Both teams seem like they should be better than they are but just find that little something they can do to lose the game.

Ya know, I know Yost gets all the flack on this site (and i agree w/ most), but when are people going to get on Melvin.
There's a thread here, which as of Wednesday night was on page four.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

i hate this team so much sometimes. like right now.

I can't believe how painful it can be to watch this bullpen. Even when they hold/save a lead it's never ever easy.

With that being said Prince deserves some blame for the loss. That was the definition of a routine ground ball that he messed up, there's no excuse for that.

I would be sick to my stomach as well if I didn't think there was a good chance this would happen...I am encouraged by the past two starts by Parra, however.

I'd call this one a gut-punch but this team has made my gut numb this year

I second that. And we still don't know the ultimate fate of Riske.

Now the ump just wants to go home.

He's called strike 3 on the outside corner a handful of times tonight. Whether or not they think it's a strike haven't they learned yet?

Calling outside on what seemed to be only RH batters. The guy had a pretty inconsistent K zone all night. I hope he enjoys his fruit salad and rub down at the Pfister. I really do. Because the Brewers lost this game. I was just pointing something out no matter how ridiculous you think. Mota sucked.

Pitching matchup tomorrow certainly favors the Brewers. Hopefully Sheets can recreate opening day of last year. Or maybe just have like a 7 run lead when he leaves so when the 'pen gives up it's usual 2-4 runs it'll still be a comfortable win.

It was a ball low and a ball outside. Awful call.

Bad strike call, but one that he consistently made all game.

I don't think it's that out of line. Maybe you should take a peek at our pitching staff. If we lose Sheets as we have each of the past few seasons, we may be looking at giving Houston, the Pirates and Reds a run for their money.

What amazes me is how many people are surprised by losses like this. This is exactly what you get from a team that plays horrible defense and has below average pitching. Walks and piss-poor defense lost this game....nothing less.

Complain about the pitching all you want, but the offense should be ashamed to be outhit by Juan Pierre, no matter who is on the mound. Brewer hitters did little to help Parra or the pen after the early burst.

I'm willing to give the offense a bit of a break against Broxton and Saito, but the defense blew it big time. Also, Mota falls behind way too many guys.

I know tonight was not a Yost induced loss but I will go to kinkos and get his resume ready for him....

Oh, I would think it partly Yost induced. Bases juiced in the 6th and you're batting the pitcher? Get a brain Nedley. He's gotten 6 great innings from Parra, but you still have to play for more runs. Also, is Gagne your closer or not?

He'd pitched 3 of the last 4 days, including 2 innings on Monday. Mota was the pretty obvious choice for the situation, even though it (obviously) didn't work out.

I can't blame the offense for not scoring off Broxton/Saito either. Both of those guys have mind-boggling K rates, so I can't say I was upset the 7-8-9 hitters for not putting up a fight.

So let's see...shoddy defense, disappearing offense, blown save. The Brewers unholy trinity.

Yeah that has pretty much been pair for the course in their losses. Although Mota didn't get the job done, he was the logical choice. Gagne was and should not have been available after throwing as much as he did in two days. I still put this game mostly on Fielder's inability to field a ground ball that is so routine. Dude is just an awful fielding 1B and probably always will be.
