5/24/08 Brewers (McClung) at Nationals (Lannan): 6:10 PM CDT

[Ennder]

McClung = Dempster apparently.

[marquettefan13]

Infield hit for Hardy. McClung goes 5 and looks sharp. Mota doesn't walk anyone. Hardy scores from 1st on a double to left. A clean game defensively. What's going on here?

And a nice insurance run added to start the 8th here too!

[trwi7]

This game thread is jumpin'. Hope I didn't miss the good part of this party.

[DougJones43]

I'm getting nervous with this 3-run lead. If only we had a "veteran closer" to put into this game...

[And That]

Paul Lo Duca on Guillermo Mota: "He almost throws too many strikes."

[trwi7]

What the hell Bill? You already suck on offense, we don't need your defense to suck. Can you hear the chants? 3TO! 3TO! 3TO!

[ttsather]

Well, Bill, that was an odd thing to do there.

Odd thing indeed.

[derflotr]

Is Bill trying to make himself useless? Cripes, he's already an offensive liability, and he's becoming a defensive one as well.

So Torres has gotten 5 outs and has 1 to show for it.

[trwi7]

This defense is laughably awful.

[ttsather]

Oh my goodness.

3TO, please.

[DougJones43]

Is Corey Koskie healed yet?

[And That]

If we lose this game because of Bill Hall, I'm going to go punch a kitten.

[cnycerveceros]

It never gets old. ... oh wait, yes it does.

[HurricaneBraun]

Ummmm Bill, WAKE UP

[adambr2]

There comes a point where there's nothing left you can do except laugh out loud.

[trwi7]

We might have to start subbing in Counsell for Hall in the later innings. At least now it won't be a complete let down on the offensive end like it was with the Counsell/Braun switches last year.

[derflotr]

BA says "keep the ground balls coming"

Not quite.

6 outs! 1 more to go!

[trwi7]

If we lose this game because of Bill Hall, I'm going to go punch a kitten.

Oof!

[SZBrewerFan]

That 2-seamer to Dukes to strike him out was an absolutely filty pitch.

[Jim Goulart]

C'mon Salomon, you can get five outs this inning!

[And That]

The more excited Torres gets, the more he falls off towards the side. If he struck someone out to win the World Series, he'd end up in the parking lot.

[derflotr]

Wicked slider...7-out save for Torres, win for McClung.

[HurricaneBraun]

YES

[Jim Goulart]

The Kitten Lives!

[cnycerveceros]

a win's a win
