Supreme Court rules D. C. handgun ban unconstitutional

This is a pretty major event in the history of the supreme court. It's basically the 1st time they have ever made a ruling interpreting the 2nd amendment. It will be very interesting to see what this ruling does to future legislation on handgun regulations. Public officials are very concerned right now that the number of gun related crimes will go up because of the ruling. I've always thought that it would have the opposite effect to allow citizens to carry guns. If you were a thief, would you be more or less likely to mug somebody if you knew that the person you were about to attack might possibly be armed? This ruling does not go as far as saying that it's okay to carry a concealed weapon, but you never know what could happen after this.
