All i was saying is that both Jenkins and Lee are both doing horrible this year , and we need to do something , instead of hitting them 3-4 every single game.

Their career BA's are very similar, but Jenkins has struck out a LOT more, and Carlos has more HR's and RBI's. Carlos is clearly superior.

 

Actually, no.

 

Carlos: .283/.338/.492 .830 OPS

Jenks: ..279/.347/.503/ .850 OPS

 

So Carlos has more HR's, but Jenkins actually slugs better than him, and walks more per PA. Carlos only has 21 more HR in 437 more AB's, and has the additional RBI's you'd expect out of esentially playing one extra season. Jenkins is actually more productive than Carlos according to OPS.

 

And for the record, in baseball reference under Carlos Lee, the player who is listed as most similar to Carlos all-time is Geoff Jenkins.

Well, Armas will take a perfect game into the bottom of the 4th, I guess that'd be the tip of the iceberg for this streak if that held up the whole game.

But more of Jenks outs are strikeouts which is somehow considered a very bad thing.

OPS is and will always be a overrated stat. Lee is batting .265 considering we figured he was going to hit .300 sometime like he did with Chicago, and he plays disgusting D. And Jenkins is batting .249 , hes out #3 hitter , do i need to say anythign else.

Well if Jenkins and Lee are the same player we would be FREAKING insane to give a 50 million dollar contract to an older version of Geoff Jenkins who can't field.

 

....which has been what a lot of people here have been saying since last October. Except that Carlos is a couple years younger, but still.

 

No good can come out of it.

This isn't really the point, but Lee isn't older than Jenkins -- he's two years younger.
