It also hints at CC staying in Milwaukee! Sweet!
Looking ahead to those unique matchups always adds intrigue to the announcement of the schedule, and one has to wonder if the scheduling stars could align so that a certain Milwaukee pitcher named Sabathia might go back to Progressive Field to face his former Indians club.

This is not a good night for MLB to tease me.

Though - not to burst your bubble, gypcasino - the purple prose doesn't say CC would necessarily be returning to Progressive Field as a member of the Brewers.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Let me guess. The Cubs get nine 12-game homestands. Their longest road trip is two games. I know the math doesn't quite work, but MLB will figure it out for them.

Hopefully it's a bit more even. I hope we can avoid the following:

only a couple of 3 city road trips, not the 4-5 we had this year (to the Cubs 1)

Not playing a playoff team only twice at home and 4 times on the road

Next season the NL Central faces the AL Central, so the White Sox makes sense since we haven't played them at all since 2001. Also going to Cleveland makes sense, since we haven't been there since 2001 either, they came to Milwaukee in 2006. We'll also have a home and home with the Twins like always. I don't know who our other series would be against, since we've played the Royals and Tigers both home and away in the past three seasons.

They are probably figuring he's on the Cubs and they are also to play Cleveland http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif.

Is this new? Releasing the entire MLB schedule on one day? I seem to remember just a few years ago, trying to piece the Brewers schedule together out of what other teams had released. And that was during the offseason....not while the regular season was still in progress. Not that I'm complaining.

Yeah, I don't ever remember them releasing every team's schedule on one day. However, I don't think it's unusual that they are releasing it before the end of the season. In fact, I have magnetic 2008 Brewers schedule on my refrigerator that I got during the last home stand of last year.

Is it me, or are only the first three months working?

Interleague is home-and-home with the Twins, home vs. White Sox, and at the Indians and Tigers. Interesting that for the first time ever, the home series against the Twins is mid-week. That'll probably cut down on the number of Twins fans that make the trip.

The Brewers brass can't be happy with opening up on a weekend against the Cubs, that takes away one guaranteed sell out.

*Opening Day: vs. Cubs (Fri., 04/10)

-I'm irritated with Opening Day vs. Chicago. I wonder if the Brewers brass will speak up about this. The thinking is that the Cubs will fuel attendance over Easter Weekend.

*Interleague Series: CWS, @ CLE, @ DET (pretty lame -- third time in Detroit since 2000. The Brewers haven't played at SEA or NYY in the NL. The Brewers have never hosted OAK or TEX)

*The series vs. Twins at MP is during the week.

*Memorial Day & Labor Day at home vs. STL

*8 games @ CHC (July, Sept); 9 games vs. CHC (April, May, Sept)

*Season ends Oct. 2-4 at St. Louis

Well, normally the two days after opening day are lighter crowds. So, that might make up for it. However, having tons of the other team's fans at your opening day is never good. The Cubs open at Houston and then come to Milwaukee. What do you think they will be willing to pay for those tickets? It's like the Cubs have two opening days.

I also can only get the first three months.

The last day of the regular season is a Wednesday??? That's new (Nevermind...October wasn't working right....last day is a Sunday, as usual). Only 1 weekend series at home in April...and it's against the Cubs. Opening day against the Cubs could be really ugly. Cubs fans + Brewers Fans + Excessive Drinking = Trouble. (Especially if one of the teams does real well in the playoffs, and feels the need to let the other fan base know about it).
