"ENCH" "OELLER" or "AGRUDER" would earn a few laughs.
Agreed. It's hard to imagine that MENCH would already be taken, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Can I check

on the Internet to find what personalized plates are

available?

Not yet. WisDOT hopes

to make this option available in the future. Until

the personalized database is available, you can find

out if a personalized plate message is available by

e-mailing your request and the type of plate you want to have

personalized to: special-plates.dmv@dot.state.wi.us.

Personalized plates cannot be reserved

by charge card.

Ha, I remember reading that exact information on the DOT web site at least three years ago, maybe four-five years ago. Pretty long wait for what probably amounts to little more than a SQL query you could write in 15 seconds. The blazing speed of government....

According to the notice I got the other day, it appears that I got "19 HOF".
That is awesome Patrick.

I am thinking of getting the modern logo plates for my wife's vehicle, mostly because I drive a beater of a car and they will look nicer on hers.

I decided to bypass personalization (I suspect our car is easy enough to identify already) and got the ball-glove logo plates today at Hill Farms in Madison. I got the 8th set of retro plates of the ten originally issued to Hill Farms. I think they look sharp on our car, and the bright yellow WISCONSIN at the top stands out much more than the darkish gold WISCONSIN on the new-logo plate. I have relatives who work in public safety and I know they'd be annoyed by the relative difficulty of reading the darker plates.

The employee who helped me, and the employee in the neighboring cubicle, both favored the retro style.

I could have done without the reception employee who asked if I was applying for Packer plates, "just to be funny." (I had a Brewers cap on.)

I'm glad I'm not a DOT employee, though. I followed the instructions on their website for what to bring and then was handed an extra form to fill out, plus told that the form I printed off their website was not necessary. And I tend to make a specific effort to do things correctly. I can only imagine having to explain the differences to joe sixpacks from across the state.

Anyone have (or know the person that has) the ball & glove logo "TNTCRU" plate? I just drove past that plate on 41 this afternoon.

The answer, of course, should be answered "yes" or "no" on the board, with any details taken up via PM with TooLive. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

After a long debate, I decided that there is only one option that I want on personalized plates. I'm hoping to get my initials, which conveniently are BAR, on the navy current logo plates. I sent an email to the address that was posted earlier in the thread and am really wishing that it's an available option. Plus after a year or two, I can take the plates off of my car and they would make an excellent piece to add to my eventual at home bar space.

Has anybody used the email that can give me an idea of how long it took to get a response? My current plates expire at the end of the month.

Last month we saw a modern-M plate that was personalized to read TVRTIM, or maybe TVRTYM - either way, "Trevor Time," and we cringed a little to see it.

I didn't get the option that I wanted so I am going to just get the generic plates. For anyone who wants to use it, I highly recommend using the email address posted to check availability--they responded in about 12 hours.

Today in Madison we saw a retro-logo plate which read TARHLS. Why spend the coin on a Brewers personalized plate to promote UNC?

So after applying for my plates in April, getting my smog inspection done, then paying the balance for my new 2011 sticker cause it got too close to the renewal date, I have finally got my plates last Saturday, just in time to be a week late for my July expiration. Good thing they also sent the wrong month sticker, I got January instead of July, using the email from my paperwork, which is the same as the one in the thread, they responded within hours and I now have the correct sticker.

Anyway, look for the new M-style plate with BRMKRS on in attached to my silver acura

When the plates first came out...I saw a plate that read something like 2645AB and was wondering, ok, that's the number of ABs for who? Then as I saw more of the non-personalized plates I notice that just about all of them end in AB.

The nonpersonalized retro plates all end in AB, and the nonpersonalized "M" plates in AC. I don't know why they used those codes.
